I tried just the top matcha and found it was bitter and grassy - my first thought was either it's because of the milk or their matcha is not ceremonial. Upon mixing it, I found it a lot better - the banana is fragrant and the sweetness definitely helped the overall taste. The drink came fast, staffs were friendly, and it's a cute neighbourhood corner store that fits the area well. At first I thought maybe the matcha wasn't strong enough so today I asked for double the matcha to give it one last try. I've been here now 4 or 5 times and I really like this place! My tutor recommended meeting here (he's been here often. Perhaps over 100 times), due to the fact that there is tons of natural light, a long table to work at (great for homework and lots of papers. You can ask the kitchen to toss salads (mix in the dressing and re-plate). Since I had veggies and rice the kitchen can warm up and re-plate. The Thai Coconut Curry dish featured tofu, cauliflower, assorted veggies and rice. The taste of sweet savory coconut milk was present with each bite. Tofu was soft, flavorful and included grill marks. This dish contained 14g of saturated fat. Ingredients: Brown rice, chickpea, tofu, cauliflower, carrot, green peas, garlic, onion, red peppers, coconut milk, corn starch, tamari, veggie oil, sesame oil, citric acid, water, soybeans, coconut powder, chili flakes, salt, spices, herbs, seasoning. The Asian Basil Stir Fry highlighted Tofu, Zucchini, Eggplant and rice. I observed a butter like richness, and extensive use of tamari. The veggies were seasoned well with lots of flavours. This dish contained 1390 mg of sodium. Ingredients: Brown rice, Tofu, Zucchini, red onion, mushroom, eggplant, red peppers, canola oil, basil, agave, tamari, water, garlic, chili flakes, waxy maize, steak spice, sesame seeds, salt, spices, seasoning. My lifestyle is 80% raw so when I try cooked food it triggers pleasurable emotions. I savoured every bite and thoroughly enjoyed each dish at the discounted price. However, they're not very good. And I bought a really big quantity, so it was not just bad luck. Other than this deal, the shop is really over priced and so badly organized. Drinks don't seem to be their strength either. My friend and I both had an almond matcha latte and it was disgusting. It really tasted like green powder. at +$5 each, it felt like a ripoff. Food is uneven. They have some gluten free options, some of them are okay, like the donuts for instance, and some other, like the scones, are really not good. Going back? And speaking of coffee bar the speaker they have blasting music @ the back of the Staff's heads means they can't hear what customers are saying so be prepared for endless 'What Did You Say'?, 'What's That'?, and of course the standard 'Huh'? Food is organic and a bit pricy but it's cheaper than driving to Whole Foods or choices and finding parking! Great service each time I've been in although I tend to make it easy on people with how I show up which I feel is important. Good coffee as far as I can tell, expensive food for sure but its Kit's and seems about par, so expected. One comment I'll make to the owner/manager, put in more sockets! If possible floor sockets under the long table on the floor and also under the window at the high table looking out the window. The place is generally busy but not always full, I see people coming in with laptops and realizing only 3 small tables and 1 place at the high table have access to sockets for their laptops, they leave again, I've had to do the same on several occasions. Many other cafe's have adequate sockets/seating and equally good coffee/food at a possibly lower price so if you want to keep attracting customers and filling seats, sort that out! My advice anyway, will continue to come here to work on my laptop once 1 of the 4 spots with sockets is available :) read more

I've been in here many times, prices are expensive, but lots of local food! The big problem is that the counter is so cluttered, and I mean, covered in stuff. So when you go to buy something, you cannot set it down. You have to lift your groceries high in the air above the weigh scale. THIS IS HARD FOR ME WITH HIDDEN DISABILITIES. Plus it's visually unappealing to have so much clutter at a till. I have mentioned this problem with the covered counter to the staff several times, but it's never been changed so I'm mentioning it here - your till is unaccessible for disabled people! Also, they have grocery, coffee, and food orders ALL IN THE SAME line up! (ALWAYS A WAIT IN LINE, no matter how many staff are working.) There needs to be a grocery till (the one by the door is always closed for some reason) and and food/coffee till. But a big thumbs up for hiring someone with a disability ! This business has cafes at certain locations (which I believe are also on Yelp). It used to be called Licious Living. This review is specifically for the Be Fresh meal delivery service, which they describe on their website. I decided to use this meal delivery service temporarily (I had planned on using it for a bit less than a month) prior to a trip I was taking. I am a busy professional and I was having trouble finding the time to eat healthy. If I had known what I know now about this service, I would NOT have signed up for it, since I wasted more time dealing with their horrible service than I would have if I had gone to the grocery store and made the meals myself. (Okay, slight exaggeration, but dealing with this ridiculous company also greatly increased my stress levels!) The only good thing I can say is that the food is good. My meals were not as promised. I had asked for my meals to be between 400-500 cals and my husband's meals to be 500-600. On almost every single delivery, not only did they not label which were which, the meals weighed the same. Trying to talk to someone to rectify this was horribly frustrating. There was one incident where they only delivered 2/3 meals. They deliver the meals late at night and promise that the cooler keeps them cool until morning, but in the morning, they were usually room temperature to the touch. The worst part came when they charged my credit card with a lump sum for the entire month without my permission. Additionally, they overcharged me several hundred dollars. When I pointed out to them that they had overcharged me, and that I hadn't agreed to a lump sum, they attempted to rely on a policy I had never seen. They told me they "didn't do refunds" but would make an exception for me - which was rather infuriating since correcting an overcharge is hardly a refund! They did eventually let me cancel the service early and refunded what was owing to me. All in all I would strongly suggest you do not use this service. They seem to have serious problems with their customer service representatives and their production team. read more
