I always wanted to have perm because my hair has always been straight. I thought of getting perm for a change and to try having curly hair. It's my dream actually. Rom made that dream came true! She was very efficient, and her attention to details was just amazing. My curls look great! She gave me tricks and tips on how to take care of my new do and how to keep the curls in shape. On the other hand, the staff at Beauty and the Balayage were super friendly. Annie as very accommodating and knowledgeable too on hair grooming and hair care! I'm also a customer, so that was frustrating. She then said I now have to add a rinse ahead of time, even though that was never required before. When I mentioned that a rinse was done during my last visit, she denied it--even though my clothes were literally stained from it. Also, during one of my previous visits, a live tutorial was done on my hair without my permission, which made me very uncomfortable and should have been discussed beforehand. What made everything worse was the lack of professionalism--no apology, no attempt to fix the issue, and I wasn't given my deposit back despite not receiving the service. The last rinse was only "included" because I had to wait 2 hours for her to show up, which is unacceptable. Overall, poor customer service and very unaccommodating. On the bright side, I found a much better experience at Holy Touch Salon in Pine Hills--very professional, accommodating, and my hair came out beautiful..

5 Star update for fabulous extensions, taking them out for the summer, and being left with GREAT…read morehair (better than before the extensions!). So here's the thing- I was initially nervous about getting extensions because I had heard horror stories about how they thin your natural hair. Enter: Megan: My long-time hair color fairy and the guardian of my hair (lol). Knowing she'd never steer me wrong, when I expressed interest in extensions, I was confident my hair underneath would be fine. 1.5 years later and I just recently took the extensions out for a summer break (your girl runs hot!) and I am so impressed by the state of my scalp and hair now. Not only has my amount of hair not diminished, I even feel like it's much healthier than before the extensions. I would think this is due to expert installation as well as the fact that the extensions lengthened the time between washes (my fine hair used to get so weighed down and greasy, so I used to have to wash very often, and the extensions prolonged the volume). I will definitely be doing extensions again, especially now that I know that I can easily get them installed and take breaks as needed. Megan was also able to help me extend the life of my extensions with education on how to care for them, so I still have them in a bag for when I go back to long, voluminous, vavavoom hair. Once again- no one is allowed to touch my hair with color or extensions unless their name is Megan Essig. Previous review: 5 Stars for extensions that perfectly match my hair and have changed my whole hair routine! It's been 8 months now of having extensions by Megan and I could not be happier. She is an absolute expert at color matching and she helps you buy the extensions directly from the supplier (no upcharging here!) from there the install is totally painless and flawless. I surprise people constantly when I let them know I have extensions because it looks like my real hair and the roots don't stick out prominently. The best part? I thought this would add to my hair care routine time, but on the contrary- I can go longer between washes and styling because it holds the style so well and doesn't get greasy. So now my natural hair is healthier. Truly wild because of the things I've heard from others about what extensions did to their hair. I think it's a testament to the way she installs them and the care that's taken. She also does my color- read my previous reviews for how obsessed I am with her taking me from dark brunette to an icy blonde. Forever a client!
