I knew from the moment we added Wolfcrest to our list that Sara and her work was the best. In fact, it stood out so superior to our other considerations that to even think of pursuing her as our wedding photographer felt like a guilty luxury. This experience was just as wonderful, if not more! Our session this year was on this past Sunday, a super cold winter day and we were her last session of the day. We were so excited for the beautiful boho setup and my toddler couldn't wait to see Ms. Anika's horses. When we rolled up, we were greeted by her same warm smile and it felt like it hadn't been a year since we saw her. Anika instantly makes you feel comfortable, which is so refreshing! I enjoy talking to her during the session and in all of our correspondence. She started off taking some photos of my husband and son. My toddler was super distracted by Anika's kitty, which was roaming around. It was so cute, and I don't know how she still managed to get incredibly beautiful photos of him while he was so distracted, but she did. The set for this year was so beautiful, with a boho style egg chair surrounded by sparkling, lit Christmas trees and other Christmas themed decor. She got great ones of all of us sitting in the chair, of myself and my son, and of just him. Once we finished with the set, she allowed my toddler to meet her beautiful horses - and he even got to pet them! 3 days later, he is still talking about the horses on the farm and how much he loved petting them. We then took some photos in a grassy area, with the setting sun behind us providing the most beautiful golden light. All of the photos are just indescribably beautiful. I chose the site of our first date, the National Gallery of Art Ice Rink and Sculpture Garden. Just two days prior, Lacey was more than understanding when I had to change the time of day due to projected inclement weather (and let's just say I'm thankful that we did). Lacey even scoped out the sculpture garden beforehand to get a good idea of where we should shoot after I proposed. We both LOVED her photos and the session was organized, smooth, and most importantly my fiancée had no idea she was there until after I proposed and pointed over to her. Poor communication and Matthew Rose did not fulfill agreement. I never received the 15 photos I…read morechose and no communication from the photographer. We recently had family photos done with Matthew Rose, and he was very communicative and accommodating at first, we took the pictures on a Monday and received the results on Wednesday with "R&R" watermark. I paid the invoice in full on the date of the photos and sent our 15 pictures we selected that week so we can get them back without the watermark. Unfortunately, it has been radio silence since then. I have called Matt, texted, and emailed numerous times. It has been several weeks of me following up trying to get our photos and there has been no communication. I am now trying to figure out how I can get my money back. I would not recommend Roses are Red Photography/Hartwood Photography or Matthew Rose.
