Since my wedding was on Halloween, I asked if I could purchase a special backdrop for the wedding and they were more than happy to oblige. The booth was an absolute HIT at the wedding. We only needed TWO tables, for our outdoor wedding. We were told it would cost $1600 to deliver and pickup these 2 tables. Absolutely absurd. Their website and Google both say they have a location in Charleston, but they only deliver from their Holly Hill location. The cost of our 2 tables was less than $75. The employee that answered the phone was extremely rude and disrespectful. We will be spreading the word to everyone we know to not use Ruth's Event Rentals. What a joke.

What follows is a summary of our experience with Ruths House Event Rentals. Rentals were for a…read morewedding at the Hibernian in Charleston, SC. This review is divided into the following sections: Major Issues, Other Problems, and Ruths House Responses. Major Issues: 1. Late delivery. All Rentals were scheduled for delivery at 10:00 AM, the morning of the event. Instead, multiple deliveries arrived from approximately noon until 2:30. 2. Unsafe and dilapidated gold Chiavari chairs. Two chairs broke on elderly guests during dinner. All of the Chiavari chairs were missing gold paint. Many were missing wood, from small pieces to chunks. 3. Gold eating utensils appeared unfit for use. All utensils arrived badly tarnished, and some unusable, except for 50 new knives. Many utensils had large black "rust like" spots that could not be removed. The utensils arrived in a bag that look as if it had been stored in animal feces. Other Problems: 4. Dirty chair cushions. Varying degrees of dirt, some unusable. 5. Cushions arrived with different attachment mechanisms providing an inconsistent look, some were ties, others Velcro. 6. Dirty and incorrect size tablecloths: Some not all. 7. White napkins were ordered. We received some soiled napkins; varying color napkins (white, cream, and light pink); and two different fabric napkins (silk, and cotton). Ruths House Response: 8. Ruths House delivery driver suggested that we spray paint the gold Chiavari chairs. (Note: the wedding was only hours away and all the chairs required painting.) 9. Leslie, our contact, was both unhelpful and unwilling to listen when she was contacted throughout the day. She insisted that deliveries would arrive any minute, but they did not. She insisted that what had been delivered was new, yet refused our request to inspect the deliveries for herself. It required escalation to her manager to get the unusable knives replaced. 10. Ruths House owner, Marcus, refuses to take any responsibility or ownership for any of the items above, and appears to blame us! Responses from his emails are copied and pasted here: "We beg to differ that due to a time crunch that you could not have rejected the items if they were not to you satisfaction upon delivery and your in person examination of the items especially to the extent of the dissatisfaction you have described." "As a small business, we have to be vigilant and not let our customers cheat us either because our employees have families to feed, lights to keep on and roofs to keep over their families heads."

The beach itself is alright all that ocean water yet no waves crash the shore, theyres pleanty sand to spread a towel and plop down fir an afternoon The island is completely overrun with ridiculously rich people living in giant beach houses that cost millions of dollars, i was in one. A friend was havingbit completely wired for dound, remote lighting, security cameras, etcetera. It depresses the hell out of me, honestly, seeing all those phony millionaires strutting around like they own the ocean. Right on Middle Street, there's this place called Poe's Tavern, named after Edgar Allan Poe. He was here doing something long before he wrote all those awesome creepy poems. They have these giant burgers named after his stories like "The Pit & Pendulum" or "The Gold-Bug", I get "Tell Tale Heart". The burgers are actually pretty great, thick and juicy with pimento cheese and bacon, even if the whole Poe themed artwork on every wall is not even a little phony. Want to tip a few pints? Will then head on over to Dunleavy's Pub. It's a cash only Irish dive bar run by a bunch of diehard Boston Red Sox fans if memory serves me correctly which completely killed me because im a Yankee fan and when you walk inside and there are Red Sox pennants and neon signs plastered all over a beach bar in South Carolina. But they serve ice cold beers in pitchers, and honest pints andb nobody gives a damn if you're still covered in sand from the beach in a Yankees hat. If you're stuck on Sullivans Island and need a solid burger and a cold beer without taking off your sandals or flip flops, those two dpits arevworth a trip even if the sight of all those wealthy beach houses makes you want to throw up.

Chase was the nicest young man who got us checked in effortlessly and was so helpful when I needed to buy my daughter a T-shirt to change into. Our hostesses, Ava and Raven, were nothing short of spectacular. Our entire party was well taken care of and they were SO polite! It's not often I see teens/young adults with the work ethic I witnessed from not only them, but everyone I encountered who works there. I made a point to speak with the manager, Jamie to let her know that she was doing an incredible job with her staff. If you need a child friendly event to host I highly recommend Adrenaline Monkey. We will definitely be back!!

I went to the store to pick up and decided I wanted to rent an umbrella on top of my 3 chair reservation! Easy! Sign the waiver start walking out the door the kid behind the counter says yeah return this all by 5. I told him my online reservation said 10:55 8hr duration. He said "okay we close at 5" we decided to quickly get to the beach and enjoy the literal 1:30 mins we had with our rentals. I decided to give the store a call to get an understanding why the online said 8 hrs if they closed at 5 and needed everything back by 5. He said oh idk but we close at 5. Seemed to the only sentence he knew. Rushed back to return bc he did state if they were not brought back by 5 then we would be charged. Im upset bc I would have never made a reservation for chairs at 230 and pick up the chairs at 3 if I knew I was on a time crunch( 70 dollars!!!!!! ) i definitely wouldn't have added a umbrella for 30 dollars. When I returned our items I told the worker he should have let us know prior us walking out the door that we had till 5. And that they should fix their website bc it wasn't correct and he said yeah well we close at 5. (Annoying) I told him I was t happy about it and I would leave a review and contact the manager and be said okay that's fine and he said "what do you expect me to do about it" Also the umbrella/tent was awful. It was broken and wouldn't click to hold in place . We didn't even use it. It was a waste of 100 dollars. Don't reserve on the website I guess and go in person ask question. I honestly wouldn't have been so upset about it if the worker gave acknowledgment of the website being wrong or even apologized for it. And should have told us about the time of Return before we decided to add on an umbrella and I prolly wouldn't have been pleased had we gotten our moneys worth with the chairs
