Unfortunately, right after our scheduled shoot Bri was involved in a bad car accident. My husband and I were very understanding to the fact that she needed to take time heal and recover before returning to work. In May, Bri appeared to be back at work and posting on social media. Come September, I still had not heard from Bri about our shoot or received any photos except for the few sneak peeks she had sent right after our shoot. I waited an entire 6 months to reach out to Bri and inquire about my photos & video I paid her $400 for. I sent her a kind text acknowledging her accident and inquired about my photos. I did not hear anything back from Bri despite her posting on social media. I texted Bri again one week later requesting a refund since I hadn't received my product or any communication from her. This time she did respond and let me know she'd check on my photos and get back to me. 10 days later with no more communication from Bri, I texted her again and asked for a refund. AGAIN, Bri did not respond. I waited another week and texted Bri yet again to vent my frustrations of her lack of communication, not providing the service I paid for, and explained I felt my only option was to file a claim with small claims court. Bri responded and was extremely rude telling me she would not be issuing a refund and that I shouldn't be taking her to small claims over a mini session. Bri did end up refunding $75 as "lost damage" for not providing the video that she claims was a complimentary add on even though the session I booked was a mini session and video add on for $400 which is exactly how it's advertised on her website. She also tried to say that the few sneak peaks she provided were all the photos despite the fact that she stated she would check on the rest of my photos. Moral of the story is Bri DOES NOT communicate. Bri DID NOT provide the product I paid her for. Please do not use Bri for your shoots. There are plenty of other talented photographers in the Tampa Bay Area.

I just want to share with the group a disturbing encounter I had with a peer of ours…read more Stephanie Newkirk (or Stephanie Cochrane as she also goes by) and I connected on a Tampa photography board. I had arranged to do a very special shoot with her to celebrate my six months sobriety after 14 years of battling alcoholism. We did the shoot on a Tuesday and she assured me that photographs would be ready within 24 to 48 hours. During this time she made me sign a waiver, and she also put together an extensive list of questions that she would like me to do for HER photography business vlog about MY sobriety. She gave me homework! After five days, the images were still not ready and when she finally sent me the gallery -- the images were marked with "PROOF" ALL OVER THEM (the shoot was unpaid for both of us and a trade for talent). I have done countless TFPs at this point with many photographers and though they use stamps and things to ensure that their work is given due credit (as is only right) they do not make it a habit of destroying images from the viewer let alone the model in the creative process. This shoot was so VERY important to me and obviously was very sentimental. She knew my sobervesary was on a Thursday (and I have no problem with being patient), photoshoot was on a Tuesday and still the following Monday she is holding my images hostage. She insisted upon a phone call to which she told me that this was her process and that she would destroy the images rather than go back-and-forth with me. As a person with autism and ADHD, it's very hard for me to see past imperfections and small details. When I asked her to do this, she was completely adamant that she would not accommodate my request. I still have not been in receipt of any of the images and I refuse to beg for them anymore as it's not only demeaning, but it's very hurtful to think that art that you created -- and that you put more than decade into actually accomplishing) -- someone would just take away for no reason other than just be hurtful. Because what other motive is there for even making such a threat? I thought that I would come forward with this because as I've worked with so many great artists collaborators in the community, this seems to go against everything that we stand for. From I've observed, this is a place for creative expression and not one person I've met seems in the habit of stealing, being underhanded and trying to pass off work as not their own. Now, maybe that's just my experience but I haven't seen that. We work together and make these so that we can express, and I just feel really taken advantage of and disappointed. So I come to the group and I also want to ensure that no one ever has to work with this photographer again. Because if she will destroy my six month sobriety photo shoot what does this woman hold sacred?

Choosing a photographer for your wedding is one of the most difficult parts of planning. They are an integral part of your day and you will spend a lot of time with them, and you want to get photos you'll love to look back on the rest of your life. We were really hoping to find someone who we felt comfortable with and who was skilled and captured beautiful photos. We also knew we needed someone who wasn't afraid to take charge of the wedding party and family to get the pictures done well, all while making everyone feel comfortable. In meeting with other options, we typically found that we either liked the pictures but struggled with the personality, or liked the personality but the pictures weren't great. Luckily, we found exactly what we were looking for with Scott. From our first intro call, it already felt like Scott was an old friend. We booked him for the wedding and added an engagement shoot as well. We didn't "need" engagement pictures, but were so glad we did the session as it gave us a chance to work with Scott before the wedding day, and the session went so well that it made us feel at ease knowing we made the right choice in photographer. Scott was so open to hearing our ideas, trying out different shots and locations and just seeing what we liked! It was clear he was very skilled. He would explain the lighting and other differences in why we may or may not like pictures in a spot we would recommend (but then he would still take the picture to show us - and he was always right about whether we were going to like it or not!). Come wedding day, Scott fit right in. All of our guests loved him. He always had a smile on his face and made everyone feel at ease. We had also separately hired a videographer, and Scott worked seamlessly with him, even though they had never met before that day. We also couldn't believe how quickly we received our pictures. It wasn't required in our contract, but Scott got us our photos within 2 weeks after the wedding. It made it so special to get to see all of the pictures and relive our special day so soon after the wedding, while all the memories were still fresh. The pictures are simply beautiful. Everyone loves them, and we are so happy with the result. We've included just a few pictures for reference (but we received over a thousand pictures in the whole album!). If we can convince Scott to cover any other types of events, we would certainly hire him again any chance we got.
