Due to the fact that I have mobility issues, four of my family members took time from work and traveled thousands of miles so we could capture five generation photos. I hired Black Pineapple Photography to capture the photos. We were to receive our digital photos approximately two to three weeks after the shoot. What I received two weeks later was an email from Liz, proprietor of Black Pineapple Photography. The email stated that my money had been refunded and the photos from our family shoot were permanently lost. WHAT? LOST? An email, not even the courtesy of a phone call or any explanation as to what had occurred. You can imagine the disappointment my family members and I experienced. Two days after the receipt of the email and after my granddaughter called Liz and complained I received a phone call with an explanation. Apparently the photographer, who took the pictures, did not change the SIM card following our shoot and shot another event over our session. Beware, as that photographer still is used by this company. There is no way to recover the photos. This error, the lost employment time, air fare, lodging and car rental expenses were great. She meets with couples, pretends to care about their desires, gets $100 retainer (and any amount you choose to out toward her $900 fee) and proceeds to push her own agenda until things are so awkward you have to fire her. She will then refuse to refund any money you've given her. She uses the guise of providing "researched suggestions" that sound alarmingly like a high school student using made up statistics to win an internet battle. She told us she would support any of our personal decisions and was there only to make the process more comfortable. Based on that, we hired her. When she met with us, she spent two minutes talking about comfort techniques and 30 minutes equating circumcision to a murderous practice of male-dominated society. We were shocked but told her we would make the decision by ourselves and to move on. She continued talking about it to the point where it was uncomfortable. If you are unfamiliar, a good doula will not ever make you feel uncomfortable (our replacement was perfect). Weeks later, we contacted her to make sure she could maintain professionalism in the delivery room despite us not holding her views. She responded with a new attack on anyone that chooses circumcision and more "statistics" about circumcision causing many infant deaths - something the hospital even refuted. That was the end. She is wolf in sheeps clothing that will promise everything at the initial meeting and proceed on a scare-tactic crusade for her own extreme worldview. Before she showed her true colors, we recommended her to some friends. They were also scammed. She promised them everything, got their money, and shifted gears to her own ends until they fired her for changing her tune about epidurals - no refund. She argued with them about circumcision despite them having a girl. She is bizarrely opinionated about anything but providing a quality service. We did not receive a single helpful moment but lost hundreds of dollars. Zero stars - do yourself a favor and get anyone else. A bum on the street would be a better value.

All my photos were scanned correctly, put in folders, labeled, and in some cases professionally corrected! I also received discs, as well as a San drive - so two versions for safe keeping. It was not an inexpensive project - but I now know the pictures I wanted saved are secure and I can easily search the folders for specific pics. So if you have a photo project consider this company.
