This is my go to spot for losing weight. I would do better if I was consistent so that's my fault. The staff is friendly and helpful. I started here about 5 yrs ago on the pills. That helped me drop about 7 lbs. I started at 128lbs 5 yrs ago. I would only use it 2 months each year and lose about 5-7 lbs each time. Now I'm on the semaglutide and let me tell you. This is a miracle shot. My husband pays over $500/month for mounjaro shots. I'm on week 3. Started at 147 (gained during the pandemic) and now I'm at 139. I don't get jittery on these shots. Horrific experience. Not sure who they have there posing as a Doctor but found him to be confusing condescending and definitely steered. Should have known something was off by the way the young lady looked when she said I needed to meet with physician ("I'm sorry"). I have not taken the medication prescribed by them in over two weeks and gained a bit of weight over the holidays and needed a support to my upcoming cleanse. Instead of just receiving the meds (per usual) I sat outside this so called physicians office while he "confronted" a woman with over the fact that she was needing a last week of her medication so she could loose the tensing few pounds. He started telling her about how she could not have it because she has been on it for over 12 weeks and that it was addictive and had no health benefits. I could not help but wonder why they advertised these skinny woman showing incredible slack in measurement tape with huge Cali smiles so we would come in and pay for whatever it was they were selling if it was addictive and had no health benefits?!?!. I heard everything he was saying as well as her. So much for Hippa. After he finished with his accusatory rant he assured her he would give her a week of meds so she could wean off and then she could come back after 6 weeks (pretty much when she gained the weight back) and then get back on that crazy train again. This while having just said how I healthy and addictive it was?? My turn after waiting 30 minutes (apparently enough time for him to go through my private medical history to build his case against me) he invited me in. This man had some nerve. He then began his pointed prosecution on me and my primary physician. Repeatedly I had to say "She" when referring to my Doctor because he was referring to her as a male. He questioned her prescription methods and if she knew I was seeing him. Seeing him??? I did not know I was "seeing" him! He then went on about his "concern" over me taking the medication they had given me! He said something to the effect of me being his "family" and if his sister was taking something that was not good for her he would tell her. When he asked me if I understood I said, "no... not at all, but I have a feeling looking at this advertisement you have here on your desk for this medication that it does not matter". He then attempts to push a week later worth of this medication (that is addictive and has no health benefits) so I do not gain more anxiety and/or depression (something my primary treats me for). He then asked why I wanted to loose weight when my BMI was 125?? When I told him that I for the most part weighed between 127-134 my entire adult life and was challenged at 156 not being able to fit in my clothes. Due to being a 49 year old single mom I do not have the 3 hours let alone 45 min a day to work out. That is what had kept me at that ideal weight. Despite hearing him also tell the woman before me that "exercise does not determine weight.. what you eat does", after she kept telling him that she worked out everyday. The woman I am speaking of did not look like she needed to lose a single pound. She looked great! In fact, by every definition she looked skinny. Especially for her age (which of course I also heard). During their time together I also heard him talking about how with the word the way it is he hates that he gets in trouble for not knowing wether it is a "he/she". It seems that with the loose overprescribing of addictive diet pills there would need to be some sort of theatrical and over reaching "crack down" which as I found out today is apparently Thursday's at Beach Cities. That this person talked down to both "patients" who had no idea what we were walking into and/or that he projected some sort of medical authority over this predestined "intervention" is unreal. Still cannot believe he said he treats his "patients as if they are his family" and when I pointed to the advertisement and stated my confusion he said, "I do not get any money for this consultation... this consultation is free!". Well you get what you pay for I guess. No, he just got paid when he gets unsuspecting individuals to take a pill that has no health benefits and actually poses contraindications to an underlying more serious condition being treated by an actual physician. The way he listed off the medications I am taking and the eyebrow lifting that accompanied it while refusing to pronounce my Doctors name correctly is pretty telling. This considering that after all of this he tried to push another week of the same meds on me and assure me that I could come back again after 5 weeks. Unbelievable. No thanks. Not the one. read more
