The owner goes on trips to determine what will best suit his customers. He seemed really reasonable (we had quite a chat), especially with the advice he was giving to someone who had never skated in her life. It wasn't about selling her $200 worth of gear that she would hate in 5 minutes. He tried to see what she wanted to do, and talked her through natural learning steps to get there. I think a lot of shops don't care. They just want to sell gear. It's kind of like one of those corny movies with the get-rich-quick team and the soul skaters/surfers who just care about the ride. This dude cares about the ride. Getting there is half the fun, correct? Parking is abundant off the main road, 2 hours at a time, which is better than most towns around here.
