I had a great experience and I recommend renting from them. We were a group of three families with kids age 4, 6 and 13, and as most families we asked safety questions & took some time getting things together. The young lady who checked us in was knowledgeable about the trail condition on the Cedar Creek, the water level and other logistics, which helped us decide whether to go with a canoe or tandem kayak on our trip from Girl Scout Camp to Trestle Bridge. They were relaxed about whether we choose a canoe or tandem kayak on our trip since it's the same price. I especially appreciated the picture of the Trestle Bridge as a visual guidance on their checkout background, which help me recognize the pickup point. It was drizzling when we were dropped off at 9am, but the weather held up. During the trip, I noticed that our metal canoes and plastic paddles were maintained in good condition, and the canoes & kayaks were easy to portage over beaver dams and dry storm drain. Due to the windy bend of the narrow river which was littered with down trees and shallow shores, and stopping twice to hike a blueberry trail & swim under the bridge, we were an hour behind the pickup time. The owner Joe started calling us at the scheduled pickup time out of concern for severe weather alert, and he waited with his crew for us and was extremely nice and friendly. Our families and friends had a great time, and we look forward to renting from FROG in other location, as well as the Burlington Float Fest in October.

We didn't catch any fish, but we did catch my kid's shoe after he dropped it in the water--thanks to another kind family nearby. Even without a big catch, it was a fun and memorable experience. The quality of some of the shirts seems to be a level above the cheap shirts that some of the other stores on LBI are selling. Maybe that's why Chick's has been in business for so long. They had some good sale shirts on the rack outside the store. I got a cute tank-top on sale for $15. The woman employee who was working was super friendly and we had a nice chat with her. I wish I remembered her name. It's so important to have friendly employees when you own a business. If you want to sell things, people are more likely to buy from a store where they positively interact with a friendly employee. I'll definitely go back to Chick's the next time I'm in LBI. I recommend it. Check it out for all your t-shirt and sweatshirt needs!
