The rather strange post below about a place I have been visiting myself for the last 8 years without flaw, stated I should do the math so I did. As saying BNC is anything less than 5 stars was strange to me and I wanted to know more, and if I had been fooled by these nice people all these years.....I was not a math major in college but I do have an undergraduate and graduate degree in Education that I think will be relevant to ice cream in a moment, hang with me. Let's do a word problem.
She states 3 days a week for 32 weeks for 3 years she goes to BNC, that's 288 visits, and gets 3 ice creams, that's 864! Wow! Well done!
288 visits, and 1 bad visit based on the fact that she says the loves and posts about her love of BNC and recommends them to others...I'd say this was the first bad visit. That's .347% bad experience OR a 99.65% positive experience.
BNC has been around 8 years, open roughly 34 weeks a year(more this year, thanks COVID!). So BNC is 714 days old, or has had 714 possible visits. .347% of 714 is 2.4. So for a place to have 2.4 bad days out of 714 seems amazing to me.
Then it got me thinking, they do the best to employ LOCAL HS Students which I am a big fan of and know that demographic very well. I'd say I'm a professional "HS student understander" and have two degrees previously mentioned to back that statement up.
An 18 year old KID/CHILD(who's frontal lobe has yet to even finish developing, closer to 25) has been alive for 6570 days, which .347% is 22.
I'd like to think that that I have never judged one of the thousands of students that I have taught based on the .347% bad percentage of their life or around 22 days, but rather seen that they are indeed 99.65 percent awesome, and know that we are all really a big mess, but look always looking for the awesome. Knowing how to talk through things is always better than just talking junk about them in the workroom.
I have been alive 105,121 days and 365 of those are the .347% "bad" baseline we established from the other reviewer. I cannot imagine how the world would see me if they judged me based only on my 365 worst days I've been around.
Myself like Beaches N Cream are not perfect and don't want people to think that of course. I would like to think that people will always see me for the joy I've brought them first. I'd say for myself when working with anyone, in any situation especially teenagers or businesses...I try to make sure I understand all sides of a situation before having a reaction to that situation.
So I did the math, and proved that indeed BNC is not perfect, but they are still indeed 99.65 awesome based on the bad review (that really seemed petty and strange from someone that may as well have been the owners best friends since they have visited them 288 days of their 714 day existence. That is 40% of the days they have been open, the reviewer has been there.
With a relationship like that it seems they would know that sometimes things are just off. People get a bad day, or people are not perfect.
But I'll take having a 99.65 awesome rate anytime myself!
ALSO, if you do the math, with a 1 star rating the reviewer is claiming only 20% of BNC is good, but that would equal 57 days of the reviewers 288 visits. This person clearly has a muddy understanding of math and percentages and that the negative review they report should still be a 5 Star rating based on the MATH they demanded that I do.
I did the math and BNC gets a Solid 5 from me. I would love to give another hour long explanation of who the owners are as people in general, how they love on their community, schools and care for the students they employee, but I think the Math spoke clearly that this is the place to go.
I am honored to spend my money there good days and bad, doesn't change my tip amount because I always look for the 99.65% in situations before dwelling on the .347% read more
