I liked my haircut, but I felt very uncomfortable at Beacon. The topics of conversation were often not appropriate, particularly since there were children sometimes present. As a gay man, I felt intimidated about the overtly sexual conversations between the barbers and other customers, to which l could not relate. Fond this place a little less than a year before I moved... But this place is definitely great. All the barbers have been good and also you get to have great conversations with them. They seem to genuinely like working there and with each other. There often is a wait because so many people want to get their hair cut so if you can you do want to avoid the heavy trafficked times. Staffed by a bunch of young guys who are all immaculately groomed and dressed. Not only do they look professional, all of the barbers are just cool guys. You walk in and it feels like your walking into an old friends house. You'll hear jokes, stories and get some great conversations. Second, the haircuts are off the hook!!! They offer a straight razor shave(which I highly recommend) and every time I go in for a haircut, they impress me by how good it looks. The barbers are serious about their craft. The only barber shop I'll go to in SM! I've looked around for several years and finally found the best. Fades are tight, beards lined up, and there's always something to laugh about in the shop. I regularly go to Mason; he's the man! But I've also get cuts from Travis and he's a BEAST! He's super fast and very efficient! I've never once been disappointed with a cut from them and I go every 3 weeks or so. All the guys are hilarious and they've got a great atmosphere at beacon. So I had never actually gone to a nice barbershop like this one is, however, the groomsmen were getting straight razor shaves, so I thought, why not. I sat with Kevin who was quite excellent when it came to handling the razorblade. The place usually gets packed, and people will wait to see the barber they prefer. I think we waited a total of 35 minutes, but the entire place was moving at a fast pace so it didn't seem that long. I hope to come back here when ever I end up driving the coast. Professional yet laid back atmosphere. A place where men can be men. Winston has given me a number of haircuts now and I've got to honestly say, he surprises me every time.
