Like every bit of Boston, this building, and everything surrounnding it has history going back to the 1700 and 1800. John Rowe was the man who purchased and built the first Rowe's Wharf 1764, which extended a short distance into the Boston Harbor. It has faced its story of ups and downs and closings before it was renovated and restored to it current glory. The Boston Harbor Hotel is the Main occupant of the current Wharf building.It is a Luxury Hotel and a memeber of preferred Hotels and Resorts Worldwide. Did a quick stop-over for a special dinner before heading off to New Hampshire.

My husband heard about this and surprised me for Mother's day with a trip here with the kids. Thanks Boston for have a commissioned space for these artists. I love how you have given the people a great place and have also given the artists the ability to showcase their talents. Tips: wear sneakers, bring sunblock and snacks for the kids. No public bathrooms.

It's the most dog-friendly, least creepy part of the city to reside. Hyde park is basically suburbia, and I'd much rather live there but it's too far from all the Hub-bub that is Boston. Better schools, nicer parks and some hidden gems for restaurants because so many different ethnicities live in this area. It's like Greenwich village ...except a lot less hipsters as NY!

Look up and you'll see fire escapes; look down and you'll see bricks. Nothing special unless you happen to like nineteenth century alleys. Now slow up for a moment and take another look at those bricks. I don't think many people do. I, however, frequently look down when I walk (I once found eighty bucks that way and it keeps me from having to make eye contact with my fellow citizens) and two Saturdays ago, I found, placed among the "real" bricks, a number of bronze brick-shaped "sculptures" depicting sundry events in Boston history. You'll find the usual stuff (the Boston Tea Party, the Underground Railroad, Paul Revere) but you'll also find bricks commemorating more esoteric historical moments, such as the Great Molasses Flood of 1919. Sadly, I don't recall seeing bricks for Sacco and Vanzetti or the good people of Charlestown who threw rocks (and maybe a brick or two) at the black kids who came to integrate their schools in the 1970s. But I could have missed them. Maybe it's not the Public Garden's memorial to the first use of ether but Boston Bricks is worth ten minutes of your time, especially if you just happen across it as I did. For a moment, I wondered why I never noticed Boston Bricks but upon reflection, I believe that the only time I ever passed through Winthrop Lane was in an alcoholic haze after the bars closed. Chalk one up for sobriety and public art.

When Bae is having an argument with someone, I always Back Bae in the argument, after all, she's the one I'll be home with later on. And I mean look at her. There are many neighbourhoods of Boston that I love and many that I have spent a lot of time in. One of my favorites is Back Bay which I was surprised to learn didn't used to be an actual neighbourhood. It was just a bunch of water that was filled in and turned into a fake makeshift brand new neighbourhood back in the 1800s or so. Well they did a great job with it, because now it's fancy and fun and filled with college students and wonderful stuff to do. It seems very livable too, despite traffic and awful parking. So like I said, they did a really excellent job with it. I come back here whenever I get the chance and I'm sure I'll be back here in future as well. Now my cat is writhing all over the place and begging to be petted, and he's way more fun than even Back Bay, so for this reason I'm going to head out and pet him some more. Make sure you come to Back Bay for food and for nightlife and for Boba because it's all here, and the Kung Fu Tea right here is the best of the Boba, while Boston Shawarma is one of the food highlights.

Stunning views of the city and Boston harbor await you here. The Freedom trail inadvertently sent me here after I noticed that I kind of lost the trail. But, what a great mistake it was! I ended up crossing over the Congress street bridge and it led me here. Although it's not as popular as some of Boston's other well known districts, there's actually quite a bit on this side of town. You can find tons of restaurants, shops, museums and several local parks in this area. It's an awesome place to embark on a leisurely city stroll and to take in the views as you wander aimlessly along the clean streets. There's a cute waterfront park that has amazing views of the Boston Tea Party museum the Boston skyline. I can only imagine how stunning Fort Point is at night because it's super stunning during the daytime. The photo ops are endless. Even though this area isn't super popular, it's a nice place to explore when in Boston.

It's not really South Boston but it's not really the Waterfront either. THE GOOD: -The Children's Museum (I haven't been since I was a kid but the changes they've recently made to it look pretty impressive). - Open Studios and various other art exhibits in the Fort Point Artists' Community. - Dogs. Everywhere. There are at least a couple of very dog friendly buildings in this neighborhood. - The Channel (not to be confused with the former nightclub that was before my time). I mean the actual Channel. It's cool to see & smell part of the ocean daily. And there's a nice walking and/or running path. - It's walking distance to South Station and downtown. - Lucky's Lounge (for no other reason than when people have no idea where you live you can say "I live near Lucky's" and they know what you mean. - It's really close to the airport and the pike going West. Equally close to 93 North & South. - St. Alphonzo's Kitchen - the best food in the most low-key atmosphere. - Sagarino's market. This life saver of a market actually makes you happy to spend $5.00 on a gallon of milk. At least you didn't have to drive to a market to get it. - Parking. Since no one knows where it is, and there isn't much here, it's still pretty easy to find street parking. - Walking distance to the Waterfront. - The Achilles Project (I hesitated to put this in because I haven't actually been there yet but I've done a drive-by). And, it made the "new restaurants" Yelp newsletter today. Plus, I know at least one of the owners is a Fort point resident which I like. THE BAD: - The Gillette Factory. It so doesn't belong here. - Traffic on A St. - Congress St. Bridge has been closed for almost 2 years - will it even open again? - There are residential buildings everywhere but there's not a grocery store or coffee shop for miles. - The 7 am construction, even on weekends. - A 24 hour post-office nearby (the one that's always featured on the news where they interview people on the final day you can mail in your taxes) and those mail trucks have to park somewhere. How about a huge lot near my home? - More parking lots. There's a beautiful channel and views of the Boston skyline and it is all surrounded by parking lots. Mostly empty parking lots. - The nearest cup of coffee is a 10 minute walk away. I live here and I'm not leaving anytime soon. So, I'm choosing to believe the hype. This place has a lot of potential. There are a lot of projects in the works right now. This place is really going to be something some day. Yup, I keep telling myself this.

I can't believe Franklin Park had so many lights…read more IT's AMAZING ‼‼ The amount of detail and work that went into putting up these light displays is beyond even my imagination. It must take at least a month to install everything and then troubleshoot bulbs that don't work. If you have never been there, you have to go this is just an awesome site. I cannot believe that they only leave one month between the Boston lights and then the Christmas lights because they're gonna have to take everything down and then put all the Christmas lights up. I can't wait to go. I mean it's just gonna be amazing. Long in depth reviews, but for this one all I have to do is tell you to go and enjoy because it's amazing. I would like to tell everyone is to bring a snack with you or eat before you go because the concession stand is very expensive just a heads up. Put on a jacket and some gloves and get ready for the Christmas lights cause I am so excited to see what they look like if it was anything like the Boston lights you have to see it. It's amazing. !! Plenty of free parking. The staff were great and having pop up food and drink stations kept us plenty engaged. Pro tip: there is a red lantern riddle station, go there, answer 3 riddles at the white tent behind you correctly, and you'll get a small prize. The sohn is super small, but now you know! We will definitely be back again next year!

This is another not so famous memorial that Boston has, but should be. It is right off the Freedom…read moreTrail and is a great piece of history. The statues are of three starving figures and three healthy walking figures. This represents the help that Boston sent to the Irish during the famine years and how they accepted them to come live here rather than starving. I really did not know anything at all about this and how much Boston helped during this time. I enjoyed seeing this statues and learning more about history with this surprising memorial right downtown.
