Nice, welcoming, locally owned business. A necklace that I had purchased in another state had broken so I brought it in. The owner fixed it, actually improved it, and did this at a reasonable cost. She was pleasant and I bought another necklace while I was there. My wife loves the surprise. read more

I just had 2 beaded bracelets repaired at the Beadhive. It took a little over a week for the work to be completed, which was the time frame I was told at drop off. I am VERY pleased with the quality of the repairs. Both bracelets look great and they were returned to me sparkling, which was great improvement to the state they were dropped off in! I plan to go back at a later date for some bead shopping. Seems to be a cute shop with some interesting bead choices. read more

I'm surprised I'm the first to review this place! I started making jewelry a couple of years ago because i could never find anything in stores that I wanted to wear. I stumbled upon the Beadhive one day as I was strolling around the neighborhood. It's a small place but they can sure pack a lot into their space. They have a GREAT selection of everything you need, they also teach classes and have very friendly service. Now that I've been making Jewelry for a few years and I've been able to visit many other bead shops all over the state this place is still my favorite, check it out! read more

I stopped by to get a couple things. I usually go to other stores in the metro because I know they have what I need. But I've passed Beadhive and wanted to give it a chance because I try to support local businesses when I can. Their selection was sparse. Overly expensive. I didn't spend much time in there because it didn't fell welcoming. But I'm writing this review because how I was treated. She made me feel dirty, like there was something wrong because I didn't have cash. They wouldn't accept my debit card unless I spent $5.00. I worked as a cashier and know you can't require a minimum on debit cards. You can on credit cards. I showed her it was a debit card from my bank. The employee implied I was a liar, asking if it was a state law. Not only will I never shop at Beadhive again, but I will be telling all my friends who craft with beads not to shop there. I have a friend who make cancer support pins to give away and uses thousands of glass seed beads a months. Given the tone of the other reviews, I don't know if their happy experiences are because they're from more the a year ago or because they weren't women of color like I am. read more

Dropped in to see what they have, and were surprised at the selection of neat stuff in such a small store. We found a necklace that we liked they help use find the parts we wanted, and let us take a picture of it so we could make it later (it turned out nice). It really was a cute little shop. The did have less selection than Bobby Bead especially with seed beads, but that makes space for you to appreciate the little finds here. They have genuine stones, and various countries' style of beads (African, Tibet, etc). They have a good selection to browse. The worker even let me use the employee bathroom. read more

I wasn't much for crafting before, but as soon as I stepped into this store, I - WAS - HOOKED ! ! ! I went in to get a necklace restrung and couldn't believe how great it turned out. The staff invited me to take a class making a pair of earrings. (Who doesn't have an outfit that would be better with the right earrings?) Well, that class was actually relaxed, fun and really affordable. Now, I'm not in the Cities anymore and so I've visited a few other stores. I miss Beadhive! Compared to stores in much bigger cities, Beadhive has a great selection of beads from around the world. And, it's all organized and presented in a way that inspires creativity - even for a left-brain like me. read more

I started beading way back in 2003 when the Bead Monkey dominated the Twin Cities. Fast forward over ten years and I was so disappointed when it shut down and there was a hole in independent beads stores. I discovered this bead store last summer driving by and decided to stop in. It's really cute and in an unassuming location. They have a fine selection of chain, Czech glass beads, and Tibetan silver. I haven't taken a class here, but I am planning to in the future. This is such a fun store fulfilling a niche in the Twin Cities! I really enjoy shopping here. read more

I was happy with this store, they had a wide variety of beads including cool lava beads that I'd never seen before! I'm a total newbie to beading and the person who was working helped me find everything I needed to make a complete necklace, she had suggestions and even explained the tools I would need (I wasn't buying the tools - she was just giving me a complete explanation). Cute little store, very bohemian.. really nice staff, smiley and helpful. The biggest con was their selection, they are a little store and their things seem to be the highest prices of other shops in the area. Not too kid friendly, but I was alone that day. A great store with lots of unique merchandise and an inviting layout.. I like the selection of copper, pewter and brass spacers, findings, and stone beads. This is such a lovely store. There are beautiful beads and truly friendly and helpful staff! I'm not artistic, to say the least, but with help from staff, I have been able to make beautiful bracelets and necklaces. I love their bracelet of the month (everything that you need to make a beautiful bracelet is included!). I made two of these bracelets last night in 30 minutes. They are wonderful, thoughtful gifts that only cost me $10 each to make! People love it when I give them something homemade!! This store is a true gem! read more

Nice store, glad to have it in the neighborhood! I don't know much about beads but I didn't have to: I told what my project was and got super help on selecting the right beads, wires, etc. and even got a quick tutorial! Very helpful and fun, people working there are definitely there because they want to, not because they have to. I am most definitely going back for my next project! read more
