Purpose of visit was to get a engagement ring resized from 7 to 4 1/4 and from the tone of the employee there he stated it would be impossible and would damage the ring and this and that, and ended up quoting us for almost $300 for a new ring to add the diamond to it. To be honest it sounded absurd and I felt as if they were trying to make the most money out of us. We just wanted a simple thing like resizing a ring. Also, employee was supposed to send us a message to gather more information and never did. I would definitely not go back to this place. From the reviews we read, seemed like a reputable place but we left feeling taken advantage of. We ended up going to ( Fixology ) at Mall of America and saved hundreds. Awfully run business. I submitted an inquiry through the intake form on their website detailing that I was looking to get a clasp on a chain fixed. Auto message says somebody will get back to me. I don't hear anything for 3-4 days. I call in and ask to follow up on the inquiry. The person on the phone seemed vaguely familiar with the inquiry submission I was referencing and said it would be no problem just bring it in. I look up the store hours on the website which note 10-3pm Tue-Friday. I drive downtown, park, and get up the skyway where the store is located and arrive at 2:15 pm on Wednesday, Jan 11th - only to find that the store is completely closed down with doors locked and lights out. I call the phone numbers listed on the website and simply receive an automated voice messaging system. Very disappointed and a big waste of my time. read more

Mind you, we're in the middle of a pandemic -- I did not expect a reply, never mind an immediate one, but that's what I got! They made a special appointment for me to bring my ring in the following Monday, and we're quick with the turn-around. They were very communicative and helpful throughout the process. I got my 14-year-old ring back today in pristine condition, with prongs and loosened points tightened and fixed, and with extra coating for shine and protection. And they even sent me home with jewelry cleaner. My wedding set has never looked better, and the pricing was more than fair. I dropped off my ring to their Minneapolis skyway location, and the man who helped me was very friendly and professional. I needed to get my ring finger correctly sized and he was patient, not dismissive, and answered all my questions about the process. Things took a few days longer than I had initially been estimated, but that's why it's an estimate-- things change. :) Customer service on the phone was wonderful as well. When I got my ring back, it fit perfectly, looked wonderful, and they had even tightened up a looseness in the prongs that I hadn't thought to mention. They were sensitive that I was reluctant to give up my ring, and told me that they would have it back to me as soon as possible. WOW, absolutely WOW. From the second I stepped foot into the store, Gene and Molly made me feel right at home, and this is something that is lost in today's fast paced world. Initially I was taken back by how gorgeous everything looked in their storefront, then I find out that all of their pieces are custom made and gave them my first WOW. I don't think I've ever been to a store that genuinely appreciates their customers as much as this place. I came here for a watch battery replacement and they made an impression. Customer service is top notch. They literally want nothing more than for you to leave absolutely happy. It's not fake pandering either. The watch battery took 2 days, which was annoying, but they claim they do a more thorough process, offered to let me borrow a watch while mine was out and I simply felt like my property was in really good hands. Love Gittelson Jewelers!! In the world of big box stores and now big box jewelry chains and stores, it's so great to still have the option of personal attention. They appraised and fixed some very important and sentimental pieces that I had inherited from my Mother. The work was exceptional, the price was very fair. But most of all, I had peace of mind leaving these pieces with Mike and Gene. They also went above and beyond doing a couple of things that I was not expecting. Not that this should make a difference in this review, but it means a lot to me. I have an 18 year old disabled son, who is a bull in a china shop. They have a small, glass cased filled space. Needless to say, not a place I would normally bring my son. They always ask about him, always tell me to bring him. One day I did. Mike and Gene gave him a lovely gift that he cherishes and wears daily. They made him feel terrific, like "one of the boys". Gene kept telling me "he's fine, he's fine". What originally brought me in were the glowing reviews from satisfied customers that I read everywhere I searched online. I immediately reached out through email and Michael responded within minutes to find out more about my needs. Not only did they solder them, but polished and repaired the tips around the diamond because they noticed they were loose.
