    Faceted rondell ruby beads

This was a great bead shop! Julia and her husband own it and she was oh so friendly and very helpful and knowledgeable. They have a wide variety of Czech glass beads, shells/pearls and semi precious stones. I went for the semiprecious stones and the amount they had and the sheer quality of the beads were amazing. Julia showed me the super high end beads and the arusha sunstone faceted oval beads were the most amazing quality I have ever seen, and I work in the crystal business. Although they were out of my price range, they were priced as they should be, along with all their other beads. I found some stuff that I didn't even know could be in a bead form!!! Definitely recommend checking out this place if you want quality!!! The last picture I posted was what I made from some of the beads I got mixed with beads I already had!

Wow! I had been here before but did not purchase however was aware of all the goodies. With several gift giving events happening for folks I care about, I wanted to give something custom and special but still affordable! Found it! They have everything to make your special custom gift, fair prices and amazing service! Thank you so much! Life customer!

I have been shopping at this store for 20 years when Julia first bought the shop. It started with my 11th Birthday party- fast forward to today and I have a small hobby jewelry business. I've taken multiple classes there- the main 2 was the wire wrapping/ earrings class and the second is the birds nest class. I love that they are set up to bead and take classes! This small business feels like my 2nd home (I spend quite a bit of time beading there) My nieces who are 8 and 10 also love hanging out at this spot- its a great place to bring kids to get them doing some things hands on. If anyone could use your business during this uncertain pandemic era it is Juan and Julia and their beautiful shop.

Good place to go if you're just starting to learn beadwork. Their selection is decent, some of the stuff seems to be overpriced.

We took a class at a pottery place in Laguna Beach last year so we wanted to give it a try again because it was pretty fun! We did the one time class pottery wheel try it class. It was $80 per person. Which is on the pricier side, compared to the other class we took last time. I will say this class was more informative than our last class. Our instructor taught us how to start working with our clay, demonstrated how to do it, worked with us, helped us out, showed us different techniques and steps on how to form our pottery. It's was definitely more challenging this time around because I think we didn't have to do as much in our last class we did. My boyfriend said he didn't like the pace of the class and having to work with a whole class. Our last class had less people so it was more intimate and slower, as for this class it was a little bit more of a faster pace. In the end we made 2 pieces. First one was like a practice piece and the second one was when you kind of got the hang of it and the final product looked better. We were only able to take one piece home. Our instructor said she typically does 2 pieces because she teaches faster but we are only able to take one. Honestly, I didn't like my first one too much so I was okay with that but I know some other people in the class wanted to take both. After you are done you have to clean up everything and put everything away. Then you chose the color glaze you want from a choice of 4 or 5. They glaze it for you then they tell you when it's ready for pick up. We are not from SD but it's an excuse to come back down to pick up our pottery.

They actually have two separate stores, one dedicated to canvas and one just for thread. Everyone there is helpful and kind, and the owner, Vicky, is especially knowledgeable. The only downside is that they're only open on weekdays with pretty limited hours. Otherwise, I truly think this LNS should be on everyone's list to visit!

It was about $30 cheaper so I set about finding it on the website and was told "you came knowing what you want" and after I as on the website for a few minutes suddenly she was able to figure out the online price. It's no small amount of money for needlepointing and to feel like your bothering someone when spending your money is offensive at best. While the bookstore itself has a decent & varied selection of new books, and they'll order any book for you that they don't have, it is not the most pleasant place to shop. As a bibliophile and an English teacher, I really want to like and support Warwick's, but unfortunately, they've treated me poorly on multiple occasions which makes it challenging for me to give them more chances. There are many book sellers & employees, but they are not very helpful and they treat you like an inconvenience or worse. The right side of the store is book-centric while the left side of the store is mostly stationer & cards, writing utensils, gift items, and tchotchkes. Today, I purchased a book and a pen refill with a credit that I had at the store. I requested the pen refill from one counter, and I had to go to the book counter to pay for my book. Instead of giving me the refill so I could bring it over to the book counter and pay for both items with my credit, the employee brought the refill over herself and told a 2nd employee while pointing at me that, "that woman over there is also getting this pen refill along with her book." Then the 2nd employee handed the refill to a 3rd employee who stashed it behind the counter while I waited for my turn to pay. Keep in mind that the pen refill was a mere $6 item but they treated it like a precious gem that would surely compel me, if I held it in my own hands, to run out of the store with it without paying for it. Meanwhile, I'm holding the much pricier book that I'm going to purchase in my hands, but I rapidly felt like turning on my heels and vacating the store, and leaving the book behind, of course, because that moment was just so strange and uncomfortable. Over the past ten years, I have regularly patronized this store and I've purchased items here multiple times per year. However, there is no recognition, no friendliness, nothing to indicate that I'm more than just a tourist popping in on vacation. At the very least, a friendly greeting would do, but no such luck. The Every time I cross the threshold, I feel a wall of snootiness that is just unpleasant and takes away from what could be a lovely shopping experience. As I'm sure you've figured out by now, items are definitely on the pricey side here. You can certainly find a better value and probably way friendlier service at other bookstores outside of LJ. I think Warwick's probably provides a different type of shopping experience for patrons depending on who the employees perceive them to be, even if they are way off the mark. C'est la vie. Just know that if you are a POC and you shop here, you may have an unpleasant experience, but I certainly hope that you don't! Peace.
