It's everything a bead shop should be, and the owners and staff are so friendly and helpful. Tons of gorgeous gemstone beads, shells (a must since they're literally at the ocean), amazing charm selection, and lots of findings. There's a variety of styles and vibes, to make a simple beachy piece or something more elaborate. I love that there are lots of beautiful finished pieces for sale throughout the shop, they help with ideas and inspiration to make your own. Staff is available to help you with ideas and expertise, and they also offer a variety of group or private classes you can take by request. This was a great bead shop! Julia and her husband own it and she was oh so friendly and very helpful and knowledgeable. They have a wide variety of Czech glass beads, shells/pearls and semi precious stones. I went for the semiprecious stones and the amount they had and the sheer quality of the beads were amazing. Julia showed me the super high end beads and the arusha sunstone faceted oval beads were the most amazing quality I have ever seen, and I work in the crystal business. Although they were out of my price range, they were priced as they should be, along with all their other beads. I found some stuff that I didn't even know could be in a bead form!!! I think this place has a better variety of beads laid out so you have a large selection to choose from. I have been shopping at this store for 20 years when Julia first bought the shop. It started with my 11th Birthday party- fast forward to today and I have a small hobby jewelry business. I've taken multiple classes there- the main 2 was the wire wrapping/ earrings class and the second is the birds nest class. I love that they are set up to bead and take classes! This small business feels like my 2nd home (I spend quite a bit of time beading there) My nieces who are 8 and 10 also love hanging out at this spot- its a great place to bring kids to get them doing some things hands on. Great place ! Yhe owner was friendly and knowledgeable. Nice guy . Made me want to meet th ed wife to. I was visiting from out of state and he made me feel very welcome. He was genuinely nice. Not just trying to make a sell. The store itself was filled with a beautiful assortment meant of beads and findings. Seashells, glass , clay etc... There's something there for everyone. There was even an area that you could use to sit and put your jewelry together at. Their premade kits are very affordable. I brought a cute gold tone chain and blue bead bracelet kit for my daughter. Cool place! Owner was friendly. Owner observed health safety measures with requiring masks and making hand sanitizer available upon entry so that when people touch items, they are doing so with sanitized hands. I was able to find a BEAUTIFUL SHELL for my home the other day and put it on display (see pics). Two other family members saw my display and liked it. So I returned and bought 2 more. Julia saved me and my necklace I wore for my wedding. My mom, who lives in Northern Cali, had a necklace made for me and my wedding day. The necklace was gorgeous except it was a choker and was too big!! After a teary conversation with my mom, she called and spoke to Julia at Beads and More and was told that they should be able to help! I went in on a Sunday evening right before closing and Julia worked her magic on my choker and adjusted it for a perfect fit. I was able to look around the store while she worked, and while I do not bead personally, I was fascinated by all of the pretty and unique beads they had available. I've been coming to this place since I was five years old and i really love this place. They have classes and a lot of them are free when you pay for the materials. Unlike a lot of other bead stores I've been to, this place is much more personal. The owner is almost always there, while you can buy beads in bulk, you don't have to, and you can actually make jewelry in the store. A lot of other bead stores won't give you the time of day if you don't know what you're doing, or the employees don't know how to do anything themselves. this is a great place to take kids, or just hang out with friends or family. read more

Whoever doesn't give this place 5 stars is crazy!!!! Julia and Juan are awesome and SO helpful. They have a huge selection of beads that are organized/ grouped by color and/or style. They have a great selection of cords, sterling silver, wire, hemp, thread, tools, basically everything you could need for your project. All of your creative juices start flowing once you walk in. It's inspiring looking at the jewelry that is there and getting new ideas from them. Bringing my kids here wasn't as hard as I thought it would be thanks to Juan. He took out toys for my kids to play with while I shopped. Who does that?! (Super nice.) You can actually make your jewelry in the store if you want to as well. And both Julia and Juan are helpful with tips and actually walk you through steps if you get stuck. You can tell they love what they do and actually care about their customers. You don't find that in many places nowadays. I have been going to Beads and More since I was a little girl. I'm so glad they are still there and that I can now share special jewelry making memories with my kiddos. Location is great too. You can walk to the beach after. Beads and More: One of my favorite family traditions! When I was young, my Mom used to bring me home to San Diego every summer for a trip, which ALWAYS included a trip to the bead shop. We would make bracelets, necklaces, key chains; you name it. Every year when we came back we were always greeted warmly by the helpful and kind owners, Julia and Juan. A few years ago, I got married, and came to San Diego on my honeymoon (naturally) which of course included a trip to Beads and More. Now 3 years later, my husband and I are here for our anniversary, and we've come to this delightful shop EVERY SINGLE DAY! Haha my husband would at first begrudgingly follow me in, then he realized he had a talent for beading and now enjoys making awesome items with me! Overall, this local business is the best. Nice, friendly place to get some bead for all your jewelry making needs. You pick up a mini muffin tin and start putting in beads to your delight. They are cheap, but the selection is so-so (I've seen a lot of those shapes/types at Michael's), but it's nice to get to pick out speficially which bead you want. read more
