By far my favorite shop in La Jolla. Gracie is the sweetest person on planet earth and her daughter is delightful as well. I often go in her store if I'm having a bad day because it cheers me up all of the time. And Gracie never seems to be bothered that I'll spend two hours in the store, changing my mind with the same frequency that the wind changes direction. I have a gorgeous plant and mudball from her store, have bought numerous gifts for friends and family, and always look forward to a trip back in. Her jewelry is so different too. The delicacy with which she crafts her pieces is amazing and my sister is always trying to snatch something I got from Gracie's shop when she visits me. There's such detail in everything and I just love how she balances textures and energy and color. A beautiful person and a beautiful shop that radiates positive energy. read more

Tbh the owner is rude as hell. Me and my boyfriend were looking around and as soon as we entered got a dirty look, probably because we look young and she thought we weren't gonna buy anything. I WAS ACTUALLY INTERESTED IN BUYING A PLANT. After she snapped at me for taking a picture WHICH THERE WERE NO SIGNS SAYING NOT TO DO SO I definitely was turned off and made me uncomfortable. Word of advice if you want business maybe don't make your customers uncomfortable??I'm also browsing at their reviews and I see a bunch of photos?? Gracie James is a very unique store! The store is very cute and fun to shop. The owner was very helpful in picking a plant that would thrive in Colorado. Once getting the plant home, I had some issues with the plant losing some branches (not doing well). I reached out to the owner and she was very quick to respond back with helpful tips. She also stood behind her product and replaced the plant that was struggling. I highly recommend visiting Gracie James! read more

I absolutely adore this shop and the owner Gracie. There are so many unique items but I'd say the plants are really the main attraction. I love the wrapped base plants and people always comment on them when they see them in my home and business. I dream about having Gracie come into my house and decorate it for me with plants. Yesterday my 14-year-old son went to Gracie James in search for a last-minute birthday gift for me. The salesperson (maybe Gracie herself?) was incredibly kind and went out of her way to help him find something special. I waited outside so wasn't privy to the conversation, but I can say she helped him choose the absolutely perfect bracelet, and even came out to meet me to see if I liked it. Gracie James is a gem!! Incredible, unique and artful pieces wrapped up in a beautiful boutique filled with great vibes and spirit. I am from out of town, but make it a point to visit each time we are in La Jolla. Inevitably, we are greeted with joy by Grace (who is appropriately named). This last time I visited, there was a manufacture defect on an item I purchased. I called Grace and without judgment or hesitation she took care of the problem. I wish I knew that this store's only concern is the money it makes. Don't be fooled by the pleasantries. The owner sold me three plants for over $1000. I was arranging for delivery of the plants to my house and come to find out the owner quoted me the wrong price and therefore wanted more money. I said that I paid the price she quoted and wouldn't be held up for more money. The owner then acted sneaky and reversed the purchase and when I called to have it delivered the response I got from Gracie is: "Mistakes happen" and a $10 plant for my trouble. Grown ups and reputable business people take responsibility for their mistakes. But, greedy businesses only care about the money in their pockets. Shame on them. read more
