I stayed overnight in Oakville after a rather long travel day. I was exhausted, especially when my flight was delayed and everyone on it ended up sitting at the gate at Toronto Pearson for an extra thirty minutes. Anyway, I was fortunate to get a late checkout at the hotel. I grabbed a bite to each and drove over to Coronation Park. You can't miss it if you're driving on Lakeshore Road. It's a large, beautiful park. I was hungry (I slept in until 11 am, so this meal was breakfast). I didn't manage taking any photos of this park. I'll need to the next time I'm in the area. It has a parking lot. I'd guess that it has at least 200 parking spaces. I had no problem finding a spot at nearly 1 pm on a Tuesday. However, if there's a festival or some event happening at this park, I can see parking being a problem. It's a lovely park, whether you are walking through it to soak in the views and Lake Ontario, or you're bringing the kids and family for an outing. It has a waterfront path where you can walk, bike, run, or skate. I liked seeing a large gazebo. It had picnic benches under it where you can enjoy food and drinks with family and friends. For kids, there's a splash pad in the summertime. It also has playgrounds for kids to run around and play I saw volleyball courts. If you're into volleyball, this park is definitely for you. There are public washrooms. I did see a snack bar, but I couldn't tell if it was open for business when I was here. I was too focused eating! It was a pleasant surprise to find this park. I'd return again when I'm not hungry, to focus on its beauty more. (293)

Ever since me reviewing rotisserie chickens in outdoor spaces went semi-viral, I've been giving this everything I got. My entire soul. I've sat at my corporate 9-5 job for years dreaming about something like this to happen, so when it finally did, I was ready. I pounced. I said to myself "yeah you're exhausted, but this is the time. It's quite literally now or never." I've given it everything, so at least at the end of the day I can look myself in the mirror and say I tried. I tried my best. Working a 9-5 job in tech sales while doing the writing, editing, eating, filming, traveling, etc. for this has taken every ounce of my being. It's starting to get to me. I don't mean to sound like I'm complaining at all, I'm actually extremely grateful, but I just want to stay raw and honest. The reality is there are highs and lows with everything, and I'm just trying to learn how to navigate them. Seeing that Sports Science guy end it all the other day made me so sad. Like damn that guy brought so much joy to my childhood. Even he was going through it!?!? He looked so happy all the time. I just think it's important to get this stuff out of my head and onto metaphorical paper. Maybe this one should have just stayed in my journal, but whatever. This pictures don't do justice to this place. You have experience this place with your eyes. I found this park in fall and went there few times in last weeks of fall before snow. I just envy the people who live close to this place. There were few houses close by, that have balconies opening to lake view. Oh it must be so amazing to wake up everyday to this heavenly view!!

Bronte Creek is one of the two provincial parks in the GTA. There is an entrance fee, so I would…read moresuggest getting the Ontario Parks pass from your local library to enter and to park for free. This is a nice park with lots of hiking trails and lush woods, offering plenty of shades on a sunny day. The only trail that allows you to go down to the creek is #6 Half Moon Valley Trail. I would also recommend #4 Lookout Ravine Trail which is almost completely covered by trees and would be beautiful in the fall. You shouldn't miss the famous White Oak Tree, likely germinated since 1685 and at least 300 years old, close to parking lot A. The Spruce Lane Farmhouse is another highlight near parking lot F, which is a Victorian-style house showing visitors what life was like back then. The antique furniture, well-decorated rooms, farm equipment, and friendly volunteers wearing Victorian costumes gave us an immersive experience at the farm. The only problem is that the amenities are a bit dated, especially with the signage. The park staffs should hand out free maps as you enter the park, and there should be more directions as to where you are. I often had to rely on Google to check location and the pre-downloaded map from their website. The swimming pool remains under renovation as of summer 2024, so the park is not yet at its full potential.

It's a great place for walking, biking, rollerblading, or just relaxing by the water. On a really clear day, you can even see CN Tower and the Toronto skyline across the lake, which is always cool to spot. Adventure Village is a cute little mini park area nearby that kids will especially love, and while Wild Water Works is just okay in my opinion, it's still a fun option on a hot summer day. One of the true classics here is Hutch's on the Beach. We've been going there for years for fries, fish & chips, and ice cream...though it can get SUPER packed during peak times. There are also some other nice-looking spots like Barangas on the Beach that add to the area's appeal. Unfortunately, over the last few years the park has definitely become more crowded and more litter-filled, which is disappointing. But despite that, I've still always enjoyed my time here and have a lot of nostalgia attached to this place.

We were both feeling like an evening stroll and an ice cream and he suggested going down to Bronte - an area that is really nice, but not one I often go to! We parked at a waterfront park which seemed like the trail was very elevated but as we walked down I noticed a sign that said this spot was okay for swimming. I was a bit hesitant to believe that because...you know..lake Ontario? Swimming? Boy was I pleasantly surprised! This beach is adorable, well maintained, the perfect spot for an evening picnic. The shoreline was sandy and not full of rocks like many other beaches in this area. There is an area on the opposite side of the pier that is more rocky, but you could still sit on larger rocks or bring a chair on that side as well. The trail itself isn't too long, so if you're looking for more of a hike this probably isn't your jam.
