Truly an amazing day on the Snake River in Hells Canyon with Captain Jim and deck hand Jerry. Highly recommend this adventure for all ages. Beamer's is the best! Our captain, Jace Halley and deck hand Jeff Tillea were fantastic. Both were very friendly, personable, and had a great sense of humor. They have a wealth of knowledge about boating, the river, and Hells Canyon. Jace shared the history of the canyon and both of them pointed out all the bighorn sheep, deer, bald eagle, and even a moose swimming across the river! The people at all the stops were friendly and welcoming. The boat was comfortable. There were granola bars and coffee at the first stop, then a couple of mail stops, then we had sack lunches at Copper Creek Lodge. Lunch was fresh turkey sandwiches, chips, cookie, amd an assortment of sodas. These guys know how what they're doing and they do it well! read more

Very enjoyable ride into Hells Canyon Captain Jim, and deckhand Jeff were friendly and knowledgeable. We made several stops to hear about interesting historical facts and stories about the area. My only regret was not being able to get wet on the way back to Lewiston HIGHLY recommend this trip. read more

We went on the full day tour on Wednesday, May 28th. It was not only interesting but beautiful and a lot of fun. Both the Captain and deck hand were really nice and knowledgeable. Besides seeing Bald Eagles, we got to see some Mountain Sheep's with their babies fairly close up. Since it was on a Wednesday, we did the mail delivery to residents in the Canyon. I highly recommend Beamers for their excursion to Hells Canyon. read more

We bought 5 vouchers from Groupon for 125 each. We needed to book within 6 months for travel by Labor Day. It took us a long time to coordinate schedules for a date we all could go. My son and his wife travelled from Seattle after getting coverage at work. My daughter switched shifts at work. My mom came from Portland to babysit 2 dogs. This was a big effort. Then, Beamers cancelled the trip on Tuesday before a Sunday trip. This sent us headlong into a scramble to rearrange plans. Nearly, had to cancel the trip we had been looking forward to for 9 months, since we purchased the vouchers. While the lady at Beamers was polite, this was really upsetting. As stated by other reviewers, lunch is a sandwich, chips, cookies and a veggie cup with Pepsi or Mountain Dew--no decaf option. Water in cups. We've gone rafting on several occasions and have been served hot meals cooked riverside. No idea why an outfitter with at least 2 locations along the river couldn't feed folks a hot meal. I thought it was hilarious to see the reviews from 2014 stating the same out of order sign on the orange juice dispenser. Lemonade was just pale yellow water. The coffee had some flavor, depending how much creamer you added. Adequate supply of sweeteners. Pound cake was tasty but skimpy. Staff was hiding behind a curtain rather than hosting. The trip was fun. The scenery was beautiful. We wanted to be longer at the museum and on the beach. Worth doing once. We didn't have small children on the boat, but it would be a long day for them as the thrill would probably diminish with repetition. I would not have been happy had I paid more per ticket. They really need to improve the food. read more

Due to Covid, we had to postpone this trip until this year. This was an excellent boat trip up the Snake River, through Hells Canyon with lots of stories and lore. Beautiful scenery, wildlife and stops along the way. Excellent service from Captain and First Mate. read more

If your looking for an old time rustic experience, some grub, friendly staff, and knowledgeable guides this is your tour. If you can't rough it, like epicurean style food, constant communication with the outside world, and more than a camp style experience if staying overnight, this is not for you. I did this about 4 years ago with a big group, and have very fond memories of it, lots of interesting history, everyone can go on the ride, older, disabled; which was nice. Camp was like a going to camp experience when you were a kid, but now you're grown. read more

I was visiting family in Lewiston, ID and went on the full day Hells Canyon Tour. First, the good points. The boat captain Pat and Leon, his assistant were excellent. They were knowledgeable and accommodating. The trip was fun with interesting history and sightseeing. We boarded the boat at 8 AM and returned at 6:30 PM. On the other hand, the food was AWFUL. The continental breakfast consisted of small tasteless muffins (only one kind was offered) and apples with weak coffee out of a machine. The orange juice had an out of service sign on it. It was served at the Heller Bar restaurant. Other people were in the restaurant eating full breakfasts. The food looked decent. I do not know why they could not have had a breakfast buffet. The lunch was a deli sandwich with chips and a granola bar. I do not eat sandwiches so I am already out of luck. The others in my party had nothing good to say about the lunch. The lunch was served in a camp that apparently regularly served buffet meals. I do not know why they could not serve a hot lunch. The price for the day was $160 (we got 2 discounts for AAA). For the amount paid and the long trip, I think at least one hot meal is not too much to ask. If it is too expensive, I would rather pay a little more for decent meals. It significantly reduced the experience. read more

Excellent captain and crew. The tour is spectacular.The windows clean inside and out in the boat which makes a huge difference when looking at scenery. The captain talks just enough to get info, then sit back and enjoy. Perhaps a little bit long until lunch break but it was made up for flying down the river on the way back. We did the all day jet boat tour of the Snake River. We paid $99.00 each for the Groupon that we bought. The trip was great! Our kids were free (4 and 2) and the trip was everything we expected. We saw some Big Horn Sheep and a Bobcat during the trip. Captain Pat was very good, he added plenty of commentary about the Nez Peirce and Geological aspects of Hells Canyon. -Coffee and Juice were offered at the first stop -Lunch was a bag lunch (Turkey Sandwich was great!) If you want to see the canyon and want to spend all day doing it this is a great trip. We were worried whether the kids would be ok on the all day trip. They both fell asleep on the way back down the river (drone of the engine made that possible). Doubt we would do again only because we have seen it all now but highly recommend if you have not been down the Snake and want to see it. Not a very smart company. Despite repeated pleas in reviews here to upgrade the food, they still follow the same stupid practices. Considering people are paying probably on average $125-$150 per person, you would think they would get a clue and invest maybe $5 more per person to make the meal better and then get much better reviews. Some companies just take a long time to realize these days, your Internet reviews and ratings are crucial and taking feedback to heart and acting on it to improve your offering is just smart business. Apparently, this company isn't one of them yet. read more

I just completed the all-day Hells Canyon boat ride today (9/29/18) and am back at the Quality Inn & Conference Center. It was a fantastic experience, well worth the cost and the drive from Sammamish, WA. I want to recognize the two individuals, Tyler and Robert, that extended themselves with their knowledge of the river to make it a trip extremely enlightening and a rewarding experience. Upon exiting the boat this afternoon I unfortunately didn't take the time to express my appreciation enough. When you get old as I you know when individuals beyond go their normal job duties. Both Yyler and Robert are first class folks who love their job and make it their duty to ensure everybody's needs are taken care of. Thank you again Beaners, Tyler and Robert for a wonderful day and experience. If I come this way again, I'll do another full-day trip. read more

We went on the 1/2 day tour. The boat ride was great, scenery gorgeous. The captain did a good job explaining history and geography of the area and sights. The two stars is for the lunch (included in the package). Make your own salad: lettuce was pretty brown and spinach had slimy leaves mixed in. The fried chicken was the pre-made frozen kind with soggy crust & not much flavor. Stale rolls. Ended up not eating any of it. Worth the ride, but bring your own lunch. read more

I would not recommend Beamans Hells Canyon Tour. The canyon was nice, but use a different tour service.

Although any vacation is awesome because it is vacation there were some disappointments on this one. We love adventures and are ok with things not going just right , however we would not do this trip again nor would we recommend it to friends. We had mechanical problems that extended an already long day 2 additional hours. Missed breakfast stop, lunch was waaaaay overdue. The sound quality of the speakers was hideous as well as the captain did not have good enunciation quality.. Don't bother attempting to narrate anything historical no one could hear a thing. The boat was extremely!!!! loud. Could not disembark quick enough. Terrible sound to have to listen to for 10 hours. I love the water, I love the sunshine. If I return to Hells canyon it will be on a raft, floating down the incredible canyon in peace and tranquility. read more

The boat captain was indifferent to the passengers/customers and downright rude to his first mate. The boat we were on was packed with 52 people, seated 3 to a bench so many couples/groups were split up and only the people seated at the windows saw anything of the canyon & river while we were underway; the "all-day" trip lasted 11 hours and by the time we returned, we hadn't stopped at a restroom for more than 3 hours, hadn't been served any food/refreshments for 7 hours following lunch. The continental breakfast was absolutely minimal and the sack lunch less than that. As reviewed earlier, we were not instructed about life jackets or any other safety aspects. This company needs to dedicate itself to a customer focus and figure out how to improve its equipment & crews, its food and service and its approach to revealing Hells Canyon & the Snake River to us. For us, never again with these people though there is a compelling stretch of the river they don't travel that remains for us to see..... read more
