I live in rural Oregon near Eugene/Springfield. Called Bear Mountain to get a quote on three things: troubleshooting a bunch of plugs that went dead, installing a new plug in the garage for a level 2 charger, and setting up my outside power panels to enable me to run off a generator. The gentleman who came out to do the quote was extremely knowledgeable and we had a great conversation about what was needed. Quote came in at a good price. The two guys that came out and did the work were excellent. They accomplished all three goals for the day, were very nice, let my place super clean afterwards. Used this company three times. I paid on the same exact day the services were rendered. I messaged for some repairs and routine maintenance. Never showed x 3 and never communicated that he would not be coming. Very disappointed with this behavior. I do not recommend this company. Poor customer service. Not everyone has a high paying job they need done. What happened to the good people who cared about their customers. It doesn't even deserve one star. Do better by your loyal customers. I am new to Eugene and made an appointment more than a week ahead. On the appointment day, no body showed up. Called the office several times, the receptionist said that she does not have the list of jobs and she can't help! Unbelievable! Then around 5 pm, a guy called and said: "I had to go emergency power outage jobs today and I am sure that you understand emergency jobs have priority!! We will call you tomorrow morning to make another appointment " Well, even if you had to go for a life and death emergency and give somebody a CPR, you could have taken 20 seconds and call the customer beforehand that you are going to an emergency and you won't show up. Because, the customer also had other things going on and had to stay home the whole day waiting for you!! Also, it is a good idea to leave a copy of job lists with your phone receptionist! Btw, of course nobody called the day after to make another appointment. Bottomline: STAY AWAY from this electrician and go for others in the area, as I did. read more

I had Bear Mountain electric come today to find out why I had no electricity to my range hood, my drink cooler, and my garbage disposal. They came 1 day after I put in my request. So very fast response. The electrician quickly identified the problem and fixed everything.It took him 26 minutes to do all his work. HE did not leave a mess and was excellent and polite. I am grateful for his work. definitely would call them for any electrical problems in the future. read more

The electric disposal switch blew in my kitchen and Bear Mountain came out to fix it. He replaced the switch and tightened the wire connection to the disposal. He was here for a max of 10 minutes. I just got my bill for $120 ($5 for the switch) for 10-minute job. Travel time is about 7 minutes from their business. The job he did was terrific - the bill outrageous. read more

I called Bear Mountain and not only did somebody pick up the phone but someone got back to me! I worked with Chad and he was very knowledgeable and great to deal with. They never showed up at the scheduled time to fix our doorbell. They never contacted me to explain why and I couldn't reach them by phone.

Had an appointment scheduled for 2 weeks. They knew it was an hour out of town. I drove 2 hours to meet them at my rental. They never showed up. I waited 45 minutes in case they got lost. They never showed up. I called the office, the ladies couldn't figure it out, then told me they called at 9am to cancel the appointment that was scheduled at 11am the same day. I checked my messages, they called less than an hour before the appointment and didn't even leave a message. No apologies at all. Wasted 4 hours for what I thought was a reliable company. Unfortunate for this electrician. I own 4 rentals and 2 businesses. I was looking for a reliable electrician I could use at all my places. Don't waste your time with this place. read more

LOVE, LOVE, LOVE, these folks! I know its a little weird to love your electrician, but for over 14 years we have gone through one electrician after another only to be disappointed by their lack of commitment to residential service, as it seems most electricians want to focus on commercial. We have used Sprinter, Reynolds, New Way, Builders, and more, and while these firms practiced their profession honestly and reliably, the experiences left me unconvinced that small residential projects were their forte. We have been using Bear Mountain Electric for 3 years now and not once have they disappointed us. They dispatch quickly (next day for non-emergency) their rates are very reasonable, their work is thorough, and their staff are hospitable and good natured. My particular favorite is Randy who weaves his art with good humor and patient fortitude, which always settles those moments of weakness that I have when I pretend to know a thing or two about household electric. Another thing that I enjoy is that they bill me for services rather than demand payment upon completion. This is of immeasurable value to me. read more

Bear Mountain Electric has the worst customer service I have ever encountered. Since they did not even bother to show up for an appointment I had with them, I have no idea if they can wire a circuit or not. Their EXTREAMLY RUDE dispatcher made my experience with them so miserable that I will never invite them to my home again. After taking the morning off of my job to meet them, having them not show up really pissed me off. After calling them to ask why they didn't show, I was told that they are "not a doctors office" so their "appointments" are only five hour slots of time. Nope...not like a doctors office at all...more like Comcast cable company. It would have been nice to have been told that info when I made an appointment that had a SPECIFIC time. Believe me, their customer service is just as bad as Comcast....Save yourself anger and frustration...call a different electrician read more

Right in the middle of a recent snow and ice storm and severe cold snap, the electricity in more than half of our house went out, leaving us without heat anywhere and without light in most of the house. I called Bear Mountain based on Yelp reviews and was not disappointed. They came out the same morning that I called, through the snow, when most business were not going to open, much less send trucks out. Randy, the electrician, was efficient as can be and had a great sense of humor to boot. It could have been worse, he might have had to call in EWEB, but in the end, he found the problem, fixed it and went his merry way. Now, it's snowing again in Eugene and we are cozy in our house thanks to these good people. And they bill you, which is just so delightfully old school. Very fair prices, we would have not been surprised to pay more for such great service on a same day call, during a time when electricity was going out all over town. Bravo! I had a fantastic experience with Randy at Bear Mountain Electric today. I originally reached out to Bear Mountain Electric because I found them on Yelp with high stars. I emailed them thru their website and had a quick response from Deanne where she discussed rates and availability. As they were both the cheapest bid for hourly rate ($90/hour on 2/7/2019) and had the most pleasant customer service, I scheduled an appointment and was given a window from 12-4. At around 12:25 Randy called me to tell me he was 25 minutes out and arrived promptly. I explained my situation (my hot water heater no longer was working) and he said right off that it sounded like a breaker went bad. He then thoroughly examined all the parts to the heater itself to determine that it was in good functional order, which he clearly communicated to me and then looked at my panel where he confirmed the breaker was bad. He got a replacement part from his truck, came in and replaced it within a matter of minutes and that was that. Maybe 35 minutes total. I haven't received a bill yet, but I expect it to be straight forward. Randy was not only capable but pleasant and he was even sweet to my dog and cat, which I appreciated. I was dreading dealing with this electrical issue and it was one of the easiest repair situations I've ever encountered. I would highly recommend Bear Mountain Electric. read more

Mark, the electrician that performed the work at our home, was awesome and left all the areas he did work in spotless.
