I dealt with Reynolds Electric a couple times over the last week, and it was a great experience. My father in-law originally called them for me, so I had no choice in using them or an opinion. But to be honest, I wouldn't have known who to call myself. They showed up within an hour of my father in-law calling to do the estimate. We lost power to a solid 50% of the house, and desperately needed it fixed. Doug was the electrician who came out, and quickly figured out the problem. He talked to us and explained it all. Although electricity isn't my specialty, so I'm not sure exactly what he did. Which is fine by me too. Lol. He fixed the problem, and that's what I care about. They had to do some digging, which is a different company and billed separately. But they have contracted companies they use for digging, plumbing, and a couple other things, as I understood it. So they take care of that for you and coordinating schedules, and such. This makes it easy for the homeowner to skip dealing with that. Electrical issues are stressful enough, and them handling the additional contractors is just an extra weight lifted. My *only* complaint is it took time to schedule the digging company. But honestly, it wasn't bad. Waiting any length of time just sucks when you have no stove or hot water. So a few days feels more like a few years. Plus patience is not one of my strongest personality traits anyway. Diggers showed up and they were also great. Super nice, personable guys who didn't mind questions, conversation, watching, nothing bothered them. Once the digging was done, and the actual electric work started, it only took a few hours. Doug stuck around so I could test everything once it was done too. He really made a stressful time just a little bit easier, and there is always something to be said for that. I have to say that I really appreciate the organization and patience. My in-law's were paying for everything, but my husband and I own our home, and I was the only one home. So they ended up calling and texting three different people about everything and handled it well. They seem ridiculously expensive when getting the estimate, I won't lie. There was some definite sticker shock there. But after seeing the work actually done first hand, and experiencing the customer service provided, it was absolutely worth the price. It's rare I'm proved wrong like that, but it definitely happened in this case. After this experience, Reynolds is the only electrical company I will call as long as I live in Eugene/Springfield area. They failed to pull permits, dropped my brand new high end whirlpool and broke it, burned my walls and my floor, did not center fixtures properly, reversed hot and cold, and a number of other things that were highly unprofessional. Recently purchased a home, and the previous home owner, did not have switchplates or covers and many of the outlets were dated. I decided to do a full re-do of all outlets and switches. They were very fast and efficient. Requested a quote, got a very quick response. Chris went over all of the details thoroughly. I wanted to proceed with the work asap because I have a lot of things I am juggling at the moment. They were able to get everything done next day. From what I understand in speaking to a few other companies, their pricing was on the higher side, but for me, "time is money", so it was worth it. I recently had a leaking water line on my side of an EWEB meterbox and got a quote for repairing it from Reynolds Electric and Plumbing in the amount of $2555.76. Twenty Five Hundred bucks for repalcing 4 inches of leaking line and installing a shutoff! I instead went to Peterson Plumbing who did the job for $425.00 and their work was impecable. Kevin Cohen Plumbing was expensive before Reynolds bought them out. Now their fees are beyond absurd! read more

The electricians from Reynolds are nice but my experience with three of them is that they are all very young and inexperienced. This means they lack basic diagnostic skills so if a problem is not an obvious one, it will take them a great deal of time to figure it out if they can at all. The last one I had was unable to fix some basic light switches and left one in a very unsafe condition assuring me it was fine. Not sure if or how he was trained at all in electrical work. It seems Reynolds has grown too fast and can't find qualified staff and/or is unable to properly supervise them. My advice if you need a qualified electrician is to look elsewhere. Oh, and Reynold's prices are right at the top end of the scale so you might expect great technicians based on that, but, sadly, no. read more

Had Reynolds come out to bid fixing our water heater. The rep immediately argued with me about our warranty. Our warranty expires in May of 2026. He stated we only had 2 more weeks. I verified with Bradford White and he still told me I was wrong. Told us they did not have the part and we would have to pay $1,500.00 for the part, they would install it, and send the defective part to Bradford White and once they received the money we would get our refund. Also tried to get us to buy a new water heater as our warranty would expire the end of Feb. (Incorrect) Sounded sketchy to me. Contacted another plumber who had the part in stock. They came out and installed the part in one hour. $210.00. I asked what the part would be if our warranty was expired. $250.00. Watch out for sales pitch from them! Asked the new plumber how long our water heater would last. He said it is in excellent condition and should last another 12 to 16 years. read more

Eric came out to perform the HVAC Inspection for me. He couldn't have been nicer and more professional. I directed him to the system and he left me alone while he inspected a system I already knew was terribly out of date. When we reviewed everything, we talked realistically about what I was prepared to fix and what I couldn't. He gave me less expensive options right away, which is very important to me at this stage of my financial life. We discussed safety and future plans. The main thing is, I didn't feel hopeless after the inspection. And, he petted my cat! read more

Update on previous review: Reynolds's electric contacted us to discuss the review I had previously left. They had initially charged us a service fee when we turned down their $400 for a kitchen faucet replacement. After a discussion over the phone they graciously offered us a refund for the service fee. They may be more expensive than other plumbers, but it was clear to us that they care about how their customers feel about them. read more

They would not tell me even a best case, worst case scenario I understand they might find more issues etc etc. They were faster than the other guys and could get to it the next morning. But I took the time off work to pick up a new circuit breaker and went to rental and popped it in. Easy peasy. $20 And half an hour of my time. read more

Reynolds gave me a bid to install a level 2 ev charger. I was expecting $800-$1500. Their bid was $5k (lowered to 3k because they didn't like a lukewarm google review). Why $5k? Because running the copper cable an 20 ft to the subpanel costs $3500 based on their price modelling software. Sure you use an extra $100-$200 of cable running 6/3 another 30 ft. But $3600? At least the $89 appraisal gave me a shopping list of materials. $330 of parts and a couple of hours of work is all it took me. Their electricians are knowledgeable and know their craft. But $4700 for an what would have been 1 hour of work for them given they can go way faster than me? Edit for response. Home owners are allowed to do your own electrical work in Oregon, and it only requires a minor permit. I plan to have inspected to be extra sure about it. I'll be careful, safe, and follow the necessary codes. read more

Kudos to Kim! I had a riddle, wrapped in a mystery inside an enigma.... to borrow a phrase. I turned on a light, heard the pop of a breaker tripping and part of the house went dark. Reset the breaker and nothing... I have several years maintenance and construction experience, but this bugger had me stumped. Checked my GFI outlets and nothing. Looked under the house, no squirrel barbecue on a chewed wire or anything going on, just nothing. I had used Reynold's last year for a different issue and was satisfied, so I called them back and was able to have an electrician come out that day. Kimberly (Kim), a Residential Journeyman Electrician called from a job site and asked if I could text her a pic of the panel box, which I did. Kinda smart actually because she was able to make sure she had the right parts on hand for that particular model. Still, i have some experience myself and that is a dangerous thing. I was a construction supervisor assistant among many other things on my resume, and when Kim arrived it took me all of 3 minutes to discover that she knows more than me (happy dance!), which was a relief! I also found her to be professional and very courteous. Her work methods appeared to be methodical and deliberate, yea, she's done this before, so I left her alone so she could think and stayed within earshot for any questions she may have. Anybody who owns a Manufactured will understand this, ......what were they thinking...? ....anyway, before I digress.. Some things just can not be fixed, so we made plans for her to come back the next day and just replace the circuit. So after some drilling and a lot of crawling under the house, I had a new circuit wired up with quality (proper) materials for the job and all is functioning again! I called to have an exterior drain line cleaned as it was backing up and flooding my basement. they charged $500 to jet out the drain line. the technician left at noon without giving us any details. when we called two days later to find out what happened, Reynolds said that the job could be continued for another $4,000. drain was never cleaned fully, job was not completed, I'm out $500 and still have a flooded basement. very disappointed with the job. I would not trust this company to do anything on my property. read more

Had Reynolds Electric come check out a home my fiance and I are selling. We needed a couple light fixtures swapped out, we had a switch that wasn't working and we needed some help because we had an inspection performed that talked about how the refrigerator is wired. Reynolds sent out a younger kid -- very nice and polite -- who was happy to help. I showed him a portion of the inspection report and he had questions. He asked me for the contact information for whom performed the inspection so he could speak to him and ensure he fully understood what was on the report so he could quote me peoperly. The total ended up being around $435.00 for the work, which is reasonable. The tech that was sent knew some of the movers I had hired (who also did good work), so I believe I hired the right companies. He made the fixture swap, fixed the switch, and sorted out what needed to be done with the fridge so it was properly up to code. Whole peocess took an hour and some of that was waiting to get ahold of the inspector to ensure I got everything done that I needed. I would absolutely hire Reynolds Electric in the future when I next need an electrician. Quick, efficient, quality, reasonable work. read more

I would never recommend this company to anyone. They're one of the big boys and just come out and bid massive amounts of money for jobs that they don't want to do. I'm extremely disappointed with them and will never call them again. I don't think Kevin Cohen plumbing would be happy with the job Reynolds electric and plumbing are doing. They bid me nearly $7000 to reset an existing shower surround. Just to reset it. I got a bid to do the entire bathroom floor, paint bathroom, and master bedroom, and carpet the whole entire master bedroom for $7000. This included resetting the shower surround. Definitely think twice before calling this company. read more

Our shower stopped putting out hot water. Reynolds was able to send someone out within 24 hours. Montana was on time, friendly and professional. He quickly diagnosed the problem and fixed it. Turns out it was something preventable, so when Montana explained the repair work, he also showed me how to keep this problem from recurring. Excellent service. I highly recommend them. read more

Dishonest advertising. Gave full, exhaustive response to their 'get a quote' form here, including photos. Waited 48 hours. No response, even though their Yelp posting says an average response time of 20 minutes. Called. Was told that not only would I not get a free quote from my description and photos, the only way I would get a quote at all was by having them come out, and if I didn't like the quote they'd charge me $89 for the trouble. Refused to give me ANY ballpark range for the very clear request of changing iut a tub faucet. The woman then transferred me to her manager, who began a very condescending manplaining monologue. Incredibly rude. They may be good technicians, but I don't trust them enough to give them a try after that initial experience. read more

Tyler came out to check a switch to 3 outlets and possible ground issue. he tested the first plug and said the 3rd probably had a faulty ground. he gave me a switch and an outlet and said, "ex fix, go ahead". I replaced the switch, which had no ground connected. now that's good. the outlet was the wrong one, as he never pulled it to check. when i called for advice i was told i would have to pay another service charge. I am semi happy and would love to have what we paid for. to actually check the items. i probably would have given 5 stars. Update: Wade called me back and wanted to talk. I don't agree with his points but i respect that he wants to mitigate any possible misunderstandings. after asking me to change my review to be an honest reflection he also apologized for obvious oversites on their part. i hope to work with them in the future... its not that you make mistakes (everyone does) its about what you do after. they worked to make it right eventually! read more

Came out same day to do an estimate to replace hot water heater. They were here 5 minutes and gave me an estimate of $4,200 to replace hot water heater with a hot water heater. This was not for a tankless heater. I spent $89 service call for a five minute estimate. No diagnostic on current heater just an estimate that based on preliminary research seemed very high. I just spoke to the manager at Reynolds regarding my 3 star review and I now know what Reynolds has such a good reputation. We had a great conversation about the service I received and how it did not meet Reynolds expectations as well. My $89 is being refunded and they are coming back out to fix a hot water leak under my house. My issue was not the hot water heater it was a hot water line leak in my crawl space and I am grateful to have such a well respected company coming out to help solve my issue. I upgraded my review from 3 to 5 stars because Reynolds cares about their customers and that was very evident today when I spoke to the manager. read more
