The reason for giving this villa a 3 star is because they have 3 different ring cameras set up around the villa. One on the front door, on the the patio and one up on the deck. We felt very invaded. We felt we couldn't sit out on the deck or patio comfortably without being recorded. My husband and I were ok when we saw the front door camera but once we saw the other two we felt very uncomfortable which prevented us from sitting outside more then we wanted to! We even walked around the outside of the other villas to see if anyone else had them and no other villa had cameras like this one. Another thing is we kinda think that the total price for 3 nights is a lot when we have to bring our own bedding and towels and then have to collect our own trash at the end of the stay or we would have been charged $75. We will definitely be staying at cobblestone cove again just never in villa 9 unless the cameras are taken down.

We have just returned from a couple of days on Minnesota's North Shore. We stayed in the Wave…read moreWatcher's suite at Artists Point. The accommodations were very comfortable and well-priced, and we enjoyed sitting on the mostly-private beach each evening by the fire pit. The location is right on the water and close to Grand Mariais many quaint shops and restaurants, as well as convenient to many points of interest on the North Shore of Lake Superior. I wish we could spend every night falling asleep to the sound of the waves and star-gazing. The only negatives I found were relatively minor things. 1. While there is a small refrigerator in the unit, there is no microwave or stove, so plan on eating out every meal. It would have been very nice to have, perhaps, a grill out on the beach for burgers or steaks. There are plenty of places to eat, but it would have been nice to be able to stay in on an evening and provide for ourselves, or at least have a bag of microwave popcorn to enjoy by the fire. 2. The "Private" beach is not completely private, as it is right between two very close businesses with their own beach areas, and folks walking down the beach would continue across the property. Not that big a deal to me, but if you are expecting a sense of real privacy while sitting lakeside, this isn't it. 3. The person present at check-out was a bit on the rude side. I would stay here again in a heartbeat, especially if they added the couple of amenities I mentioned.

Great place until you make a mistake…read more Clean cabin, lovely office manager, beautiful view.... I had my small dog with me for a two night stay. I picked up a few poops outside, all the ones that I saw/ knew about in addition to leaving a clean cabin, a tip, and busing my trash and recycling. Well, apparently I left some dog poops too. I received a phone call a half hour after I left stating I was not welcome to return by a very emphatic man. He said there were poops "all over", which given that I picked up two I find hard to believe, as the dog is 11 pounds and we had a two night stay. Had I been charged to my credit card for the pick up, perhaps even told I couldn't bring a dog again I would have understood. A call saying that I was not welcome to return? Way over the top in my opinion. Way over. Yes, I screwed up but this was a really harsh way to treat an otherwise good customer. The man also stated inaccurately that hardly anyone on the shore accepts dogs. Not true, over half of cascade vacation rentals homes do. Furthermore, if THIS is how they treat a guest who makes a mistake, they should not allow dogs and they should take a long hard look At their attitude. What happens here if you break a coffee pot? Wow. Update: In a response to me on this matter, I was accused of "having my dog off leash in violation of policy". I have NEVER had my dog off leash outside of his own yard, and who would in the open in Northern MN? Insane that the response to this was this accusation. Dog or not, please avoid! It won't be pretty if anything goes amiss during your stay, obviously.

The property sits on a rugged shoreline. Views from all of the home's windows expose the power and uncontrolled splendor of Lake Superiors waves. It was this scene we longed to experience, especially in a cold winter setting. The stone fireplace is massive. The kitchen is a foodie delight with amazing space and a complete set up for some fancy candlelight dinners. Our children were simply blown away by the elegance of the massive Master Suite that includes a large jet tub and steam shower. This home, as elegant as it is, allows pets. It is so dog-friendly, that when I opened the linen closet there were special towels for your pup and guest water dishes. We spent a great deal of time walking along the road Sea Cliff rests on. The road is a quiet and secluded area where 5 whitetail deer romped and played and must have been used to people since they walked along the road and also up the driveway visiting both the front and back yard at Sea Cliff and next door at Shore Cliff every day of our stay. Lutsen Mountain Ski area is a hop skip from Sea Cliff and was simply stunning from up top. I cannot really put int my own words what our experience was like. I borrowed some from C.S. Lewis, "It was when I was happiest that I longed most...The sweetest thing in all my life has been the longing...to find the place where all the beauty came from."

Don't wait until late October - you won't see much. Mid-September is often peak :) We purchased tickets online and queued mid-morning on a weekday to go enjoy the fall colors. It was great timing, as I hear it gets busy on weekends and later in the day. The ride up is soooo pretty! At least the past two years, they've given parties their own gondola so you don't have to ride with others. At the top, you simply MUST go to the lookout on the west side. That's the most stunning view and absolutely worth it! The east side view from the chalet/restaurant is pretty too, because you can see the water, but not nearly as colorful. Absolute MUST DO in the fall!
