I reached out to David Lee to see if he would be available for my brothers wedding ( that was two weeks away ) after realizing we probably needed more than one photographer to cover all of the necessary shots. With the expectation that it would be difficult for anyone to accept a job that soon, I was pleasantly surprised when David immediately responded asking thorough and in depth questions about the job and ultimately said he would be able to make it happen. While the venue was a good hour and a half away, he still went out of his way to attend the rehearsal the day before to get the lay of the land and identify the best shots/ lighting around the property. When the big day arrived he was on time and fully prepared with a reassuring and calm demeanor through out all the chaos. He gave great direction (soooo important) and was there from start to finish. After seeing the end result, I would never go elsewhere for a photographer. He did an amazing job at capturing candids and has an eye for a journalistic approach, yet also nailed clean portraits. We started receiving edited photos right away and had them all completed with in a few weeks. From the initial inquiry we got to meet him and ask him all the questions. He is awesome. He will be right there to guide you and capture your day in the best way possible. What we appreciated is that he remembers for many of us this is our first time planning a wedding, you'd be surprised some of the other vendors forget and make you feel not so bright. He will answer your questions, give you his professional input, helps keep you on track but not making you feel like you're asking the same old questions, he has probably heard 1000 times but you never know. We were able to have meetings with him and it really helped us feel secure that we were in the right track. He gave us a list of locations to do our engagement photos, what to wear and how to pose and super patient with our dog. Photos were received in a timely manner. On the actual wedding date Ricky was on time, organized and encouraging. We met his second shooter and they brought in all the good vibes. We had complete trust he would be able to capture all the moments and we just needed to enjoy our day. Ricky and his team worked fantastic with our videographers. They worked as a team and communicated very well throughout the whole day. When we look at our photos all the feeling comes back. From the bride's point of view, getting ready with my mother and sisters, seeing my father's teary eyes during the father and daughter first look and seeing how nervous my now husband was, it feels so nostalgic. A lot of the pages I had come across had a portfolio full of photos that were edited with either a yellow tinge or overly contrasted. I know nothing about the right verbiage to describe their editing style (lol), but it aligned with what I was looking for - light and airy/whimsical, while still remaining true to color. When I reached out to them, they set up a Skype call that my husband, my parents, and I joined. From the start, both Ryan and Denise were so personable and sincere! Going into our own marriage while working with a married couple/photographers was so fun! You can tell that they have so much love and passion for each other and their family, which made us all feel so comfortable! On our big day, the bridal party was running a tad late to the venue, and we also had a little snafu with the flower delivery (couldn't find where the bouquets were dropped off). Despite these events, Ryan and Denise were able to keep us on track with our timeline. When it came time for Ryan and Denise to review the photos from our big day, they reach out to immediately notify us that they realized we missed something on our "shot-list". Amidst all the chaos of running late and whatnot, we forgot to photograph the ladies in a group picture. I did, however, still get all the individual shots as the bride with each bridesmaid and my mom. We appreciated them being forthcoming and "owning" the mistake and sincerely apologizing for it. We purchased the wedding album package that includes 30 pages/15 spreads, and they added 6 more pages/3 more spreads as a little gift to us - such a nice touch and kind gesture! As a retired homicide detective who has dedicated years to serving the citizens of Phoenix in that capacity, I'm new to all of this promotional stuff and was hoping to find a professional who was friendly and could guide me. A professional who believed in making the customer happy and not just focusing on the money. I read his reviews, and Phoenix Headshots seemed favorable. The budget package also looked affordable compared to another quote I had received. However, I SHOULD have called and had a conversation with this company before hitting that trap buy button. That would have saved me a lot of heartache. Once I clicked and entered my credit card information, the website gave no further instructions and left me in limbo, which I thought was odd. A message of what to do next or when and how they would reach out to schedule an appointment would have been appreciated. After waiting, I was proactive and left a voicemail. The owner (identified himself as Yucel) finally called me back. He was extremely condescending throughout the 10 minute conversation and kept mentioning the repercussions of not showing up for my appointment. I couldn't figure out why he was so concerned when I had fronted him the full amount---a hefty deposit I must say for work not completed. I also thought he had a storefront studio per the website, yet it was a private residence. The whole situation made me extremely uncomfortable. Our personalities did not mesh at all, and things got worse. My family went on a trip to Florida the week before my appointment, and we were in the direct path of Hurricane Milton. I sent him a text message explaining things and never heard back for several days. Finally, I interrupted my family vacation and just called him. At this point and collectively, I did not have a good feeling about him or his company and kindly requested a cancellation and full refund. I felt it to be a very reasonable request since he had done nothing but process the credit card, complete a short 10-minute conversation with me, and schedule the appointment weeks in advance. Instead, Yucel said absolutely not and said he was keeping all of the money. I was shocked as I had given him ample notice of cancellation and he rendered no photography service (zero). He pulled out some legal disclaimer which to me seemed rather shady not to mention completely devoid of any level of professionalism or customer service. This was a truly HORRIBLE experience. I believe in companies that ultimately make the customer happy, and this was NOT the case. I don't care how good his photography is, he did not treat me like a customer or act like a professional. Also, please also note that looking back at the reviews many of them are rather old. Bottom line: Be careful, have a conversation with this fellow prior to giving him any money, and shop around.
