Loved this FREE event at a gorgeous North Liberty park. Recognized some familiar names on the…read morevending and music lineups and figured I'd make the drive from Marion to support my friends. I knew it was a longstanding community event, but didn't realize the scope of production that goes into it. The stage is MASSIVE and they had some really cool artists performing throughout the day. There was plenty of room to set up a blanket or chair, sip your beer, and enjoy the music. (It did start to fill up quickly in anticipation of the last two acts, so grab your spot early!) There were stations with fans blowing cool mists, free ice water tanks, and a few places to get out of the sun. The Blues & BBQ sign is a great photo opp. In addition to the beer tent by the stage, there were about ten vendors or so offering a variety of sips and bites. A little something for everyone, including multiple bbq options, tacos, shaved ice, and ice cream. I know the beer tent is a big factor in keeping this free, so it would be great if there was more than one non-alch option (and ideally root beer wouldn't be the same price as a beer - say $4 or $5 instead of $7). All in all, really great community event. I heard a rumor the park is being renovated to add shade and other amenities, so next year there will not be a festival. I'm sure it'll come back bigger and better than ever!

All musical acts were awesome and were so fun to listen to in front of the stage or out about the park. Inflatables and other park equipment for kids to climb and a good amount of shaded seating for everyone to enjoy. The food truck options keep growing so anyone can find something they like. I like to go sometime earlier in the day and then come back later to hear the final show, all while trying some good brisket or pulled pork.

How have I never written a review!?…read more Colony Acres Family Farm is an NL staple-- having been around for over 25 years! In the summer it boasts sunflowers. In the fall there's games, food/drinks, pumpkin patch picking, a market and of course, the corn maze. In the winter Colony Acres offers fresh-cut trees and Santa. I've only event ventured here during the fall-- tickets are $11-16. (*Pro Tip: order online to save a few bucks a ticket.*) My kids adored the zip line, slides, train ride, bouncy pad and corn maze. We typically don't get pumpkins here but there's a wide selection of those-- mums, corn stalks, hay bales and more. The farm is closed Mondays and Tuesdays during the fall. It allows dogs! There's plenty of parking. Staff is uber friendly. Stop by.

However, if you don't have kids, save your money as there really isn't anything for adults to do. Sure, there is a corn maze, but that is really it. Like I said, though. Ah North Liberty, how I enjoy thee, your plentiful housing developments, your sprawling farms on…read morethe outskirts of town and your growing number of restaurants. A nice area located north of IC and Coralville that boasts a growing number of businesses and is setting itself up as "the place to live" for incoming students and residents. About 15-20 minutes from downtown IC, but much closer to Cedar Rapids for those who commute there, but desire to live in a place other than Cedar Rapids. Good selection of restaurants, but none that have yet distinguished themself as "the place". The closest much hit spot in the area is Red's Ale house that boasts some legit cuisine, good libations and a patio that put's your Dad's to shame! Great and easy place to bike too and from, good, new schools and tons of housing options ranging from cookie cutter to places with lots of character. Lots of farmhouses mixed in and some great local shops. Worth checking out!

I love many of the City of Coralville's restaurants and stores! Coralville is a longer town than wide and you notice this as you drive down 2nd Street in Coralville. Also, the City of Coralville has the well-known Coral Ridge Mall.

Wow. 4 adults, a 6yo and 3yo checked this place out on a Friday morning around 11am with our friends who were visiting from Indianapolis (Indianapolis has one of the best if not the best children's museum in the county, so expectations were high). Upon entering the boys got their photo taken with Iron Man and then we went to pay the admission fee. The museum is still strongly encouraging mask wearing, but mosts guests weren't. I suspect it will be mandatory again in the future. There are so many fun, interactive things for the kiddos here: ambulance, Dr.'s Office, Post Office, Bank, Market, Pizzeria, recording studio, instruments, tree hours, airplanes, giant slide, my personal favorite the "Cabinets of Curiosities" that go from letters A-Z located on the walls of the 2nd floor. You could spend hours here. I definitely recommend avoiding peak times, or times when daycares and school groups are in attendance. We had to wait around to sample a few things because it was just so crowded. Museum is located right across from the ice rink and not far from the carousel. You could definitely make a morning and afternoon out of it. A must-see if you have younger kids in your life!

It was torrentially down pouring and time to take a stop on our cross country road trip, we got off…read morethe exit to walk around a target since a playground was out and saw signs for The Iowa Children's Museum. So glad we saw the signs this place was amazing it was just what our 2 year olds need to burn off some energy after 2ish hours in the car with many more to go. It was surprisingly large, has so many different rooms with different themes for the kids to explore. We let the kids play for close to 2 hours than grabbed food at the mall food court and went back on our way.
