It was around 4:15 and we hadn't been seen so I asked the front desk if they could confirm our appointment which they did and assured us we would see his Dr shortly. It was then after 4: 30 that we went back to a room. The nurse took his vitals and told us the Dr should be in any minute. At 4:50 I stuck my head out the door and didn't find anyone initially, but eventually found a nurse and she said that he will be in any second. At 5:15 we still have yet to see the Dr. I had my son get dressed again and we looked in the hallway and the lights were all turned out the computers were shut down and there was no one in the lobby area but a lady vacuuming! There was no one even there that we could tell that we were now late for his sisters ballet and would have to be leaving so I called the office and left a voice mail. The Dr called me back and apologized and wanted to schedule a new appointment right then. I was too upset at the time and told him that we needed to get home to try to get his sister ready to go to ballet (late). I called the office the next day to talk to an office manager and no one was available to take my call so the receptionist recorded my message and assured me that it was not acceptable and someone would be giving me a call back asap. A day goes by nothing. The next day some thing. I called the second time and again wasn't able to speak to an office manager. I again left a voicemail. A day goes by then another with no word. I finally call them to let them know that we would be leaving the practice as this wasn't a mistake, but a pattern of behavior.

We are new and finding a pediatrician is a bit overwhelming as reviews are all over the place. To compound it, my kiddo was already sick and I needed to find someone ASAP. I was very impressed with St Alphonsus Pediatrics from start to finish. The receptionists were helpful, and the Dr we saw was great. Coming from out of state, I was used to very cold doctors always in a rush and making you feel awful for taking too much time. I was so grateful to NOT feel that way here. The whole staff was helpful from start to finish. I appreciate feeling that the doctor listened to what I said, and my concerns, without judgment, and she didn't make me feel stupid for my requests or questions. If you are looking for a doctor for your kid, I recommend this place.

I would say most Drs provide an option to communicate via a portal for non urgent matters for follow up etc. When I tried to do this I was unable to use the patient portal to communicate with my Dr. When I contacted her medical assistant to ask for assistance she told me that was just the way it was and many patients complain but that they have not fixed it yet. This makes no sense to me. I have never had an issue with other portals and two way communication. Isn't that the purpose of a portal? I was given no other options and it was recommended to find another Drs office. She was frustrated it appeared because she received this complaint often. She had no idea when this would be fixed. It is important to me to be able to communicate with my Dr without making another visit in person. WOW. Now I have to start all over with another provider. Worse service EVER! Go elsewhere.

Upon entering the room he called my child the wrong name and sat down crossed his arms and was very nonverbally aggressive. As he was leaving, he made a judgmental comment about us not coming in for wellness visits and implied we shouldn't remain patients unless we did. It felt completely inappropriate during an already stressful situation. Parents deserve compassion and respect when seeking care for their children, and unfortunately that was not our experience. It's very disappointing as we've had otherwise great interactions with the nurse practitioners and other physicians at different locations. I do not recommend Dr. Smith and we will not see him again. It gives me pause to continue bringing my family to Thrive Pediatrics and I will likely not recommend this practice based on this experience.

They are great with my children and listen when I have concerns. We have never had any issues at Treasure Valley Pediatrics. I am really glad we found this office. Everyone is very friendly. And they have a cute little waiting area for the kids to play in.
