No longer serving food, made the journey and only serving drinks. Beautiful bar though.

Good Guinness, nice environment, old Irish feel. The service was great. Barely anyone here, this place needs more recognition.

Family friendly with lots of space for big groups including a private dining hall and outdoor space which wasn't in use during our visit. Kid friendly as well with lots of space for the little ones. Friendly and quick service. The salmon dishes were excellent. They do a great job on roast rump of beef - was very tender with rich gravy. The sides are hearty - mashed potato, sweet potato, cauliflower, and broccoli with cheese sauce on it.

I did not know much about the Cottage when I booked my tripped, but we went to dinner there soon after we checked into out lodgings and were so very pleasantly surprised with the local musicians who played a mix of traditional Irish folk tunes and modern folk-rock songs. There were patrons who were bussed/vanned/driven in groups specifically for the music, but there was also a mix of locals who were out for an evening meal. Everything meshed effortlessly and blitheful experience. You can't say that for most tourist destinations. The food and service was wonderful, also. We went to Kate Kearneys Cottage numerous times during our stay in the Gap and each time was as good as the last time, whether it was enjoying a dinner with great music or just hanging out in the pub with locals late at night. All in all, I can't wait to return again!

THIS PLACE IS A MUST! I wish that I could give this place more than 5 stars! Everything was perfect…read more- from the service to the food. We were traveling through the Irish country side and our Air BnB host suggested this place and even made a reservation for us. We arrived a little before closing time of the kitchen and the staff was more than happy to accommodate us and very willing to serve a party of 6. Our server was so friendly and personable. She had us laughing the entire night. It really just made for the overall perfect dining experience. She gave us a full run down of the menu and told us about her favorites - and let me tell you...her recommendations were spot on! Since there were 6 of us - we all ordered something different off the menu so each of us could try it. Trying to make a decision was so hard because it all sounded so good. It was pretty difficult figuring out who had the best dish. For an appetizer, I got the seafood chowder and it was seriously the best chowder I've ever had. I didn't even want to order seafood chowder again on the trip because I was so spoiled by how delicious the one at The Bianconi was. I still am telling people how good it is. There was so much seafood in it and big chunks, too - they definitely do not skimp on the seafood meat in their chowder. It came in a bowl and was an actual serving - so if getting as an appetizer I would suggest sharing with someone. I got the monkfish special. It was buttery and cooked to perfection and so flavorful - and to make it even better it was perfectly topped with a cheese sauce. My fiancé got the half orange glazed ginger duck and oh my it was great! Cooked perfectly and the skin was lightly charred to make it crunchy. The meat was so moist and the orange and ginger glaze made for a great flavor! If you're passing through the Irish country side and want a great place to eat with staff that gives you a warm welcome - I would HIGHLY suggest coming here!
