The park is in a Chapman Heights housing development. Not very big, but set up on a hill with a very nice view, is clean and safe, and has attractive landscaping. There were two small basketball courts and a playset the kids quite enjoyed - with the largest climbing wall I have seen in the area. It wasn't that crowded on a weekday (late afternoon) with ample street parking. As a bonus, there appears to be a nicely maintained trail running next to the park and up the hill behind. Will be returning to see where it leads...

Whether you're into sports, family time, or community events, you'll find something to enjoy. I usually come out to play tennis at the courts or check out the markets they host, usually on Thursday evenings or Saturday mornings. They also have fun community events like the community parking lot sale, where locals can sign up to have a yard sale at the park. My son loves the playgrounds (there are several for different age groups), and on weekends, it's always nice to stop by when there are baseball or softball games going on. The snack shack is usually open during games so its an easy and affordable stop for snacks, burgers and hot dogs. The park is always clean, well-kept, and full of life. It's great to see so many people using it for different things. I wish that they'd add some outdoor pickleball courts, but the community center nearby offers plenty of indoor options like pickleball, racquetball, volleyball, and basketball. The one thing that I have seen a lot of lately is kids/teens racing around on electric bikes/Surron-style bikes. The hills throughout the park are fun to ride, but just make sure to keep your eyes peeled, especially with letting your small kids roam around, to avoid potential accidents. Owverall, Yucaipa Community Park is one of those places that really brings the community together. Definitely worth checking out if you're in the area!

The…read moretrails are fun, not too hard, and good for families, but still enough hills to keep it interesting. Not ideal for strollers unless you've got something built for rough terrain. The oak trees are a huge plus. There's actual shade here, not just a few patches, which makes a big difference in this area. If you hike out far enough you'll find old abandoned houses and structures, which is honestly one of the coolest parts. It gives the whole place a bit of history and something extra to explore. Also great for horseback riding and a solid spot to bring food and picnic without dealing with crowds. Simple, quiet, and worth going back to.

Water canyon trail - No shades Several trail no shades…read more Lots of horse tail grass not good for dogs Dirt roads/ pebbles and incline. Don't know what I was thinking, woke up and dragged my husband and my daughter on the hottest days to decide to hike lol!!! Be sure to wear a hat and bring water , this particular trail is my least favorite. I don't recommend to bring your fur baby , if you do. Please be careful this area has lots of over grown horse tail grass, it is so harmful to your fur babies. I would recommend to come during winter and cooler temperatures.
