We absolutely loved staying at the Beaumont in Ouray. Not only was it beautiful and well preserved, but the staff was absolutely amazing. They went above and beyond with their recommendations and made us feel very welcomed. We enjoyed a few drinks at the downstairs bar. Gail did a great job at pouring drinks and kept the bar squeaky clean. There are rumors of it being haunted but we did not meet any ghosts during our visit. I'd recommend a stay here to experience the history of Ouray. read more

This is a lovely old hotel (historic) and is nicely maintained with easy parking. Once we checked in we were on our own (it would have been helpful to have a few suggestions of restaurants and springs... maybe even a reciprócale arrangement). There was some people noise that could be heard from our room but once lights were out it got quiet. The location is ideally located and close to everything. We enjoyed delicious coffee (complementary) from the adjacent coffee shop, which also had available delicious pastries (my favorite was filled with spinach and feta yum). I'm a sucker for historic hotels in ghost towns. And I travelled all the way to Ouray just for it! When I learned that this Hotel hosted Teddy Roosevelt, I had to stay just one night. And I am so glad I did. The building has been renovated and is absolutely beautiful. So much tender loving care has been poured into it. I reserved the Presidential Suite and it was grand! I wish I had more time in there. The bed was firm but soft, the bedding was crispy and fluffy. I had the best night sleep in that room. The view and the balcony were so picturesque. I could not wait to open the window and breathe the fresh mountain air while the sun came up. The desk clerk was friendly and helpful, the manager was available for any questions and working on some more restorations. But truly, I think the place is perfect. I am not sure the fireplace worked, and there wasn't any cold water it seemed in the faucet, but we didn't need either. The kitchen could have been stocked a but more, we love to prepare meals at home. Other than that, I just about cried when I had to vacate. Well worth it for the experience. read more

Went to the 1886 Coffee for a bite to eat and coffee to start our morning. The peep latte tasted like a standard latte. No emphasis on toasted marshmallow or chocolate as described. I settled for a bagel with cream cheese as I'm unable to eat eggs. They did not have flavored cream cheese as their menu shows. I got an everything bagel with plain cream cheese. It did not come pre spreaded rather the cream cheese came in cups for me to spread myself (not very New York bagel of them). I think the employee helping us may have been a rather new but didn't have anyone else there to help them. But they definitely have many more options than other breakfast places in the area. This beautiful old establishment has been meticulously renovated, with attention to every single detail, from the ornate gold door handles to the original wallpaper designs--nothing goes unnoticed. I had the most comfortable sleep of our entire week-long trip through Colorado here. As a family-owned and operated business, the Beaumont holds a special place in my heart. Supporting small, family-run businesses is very important to me, as is preserving historical buildings and houses. The craftsmanship and artistry of these old structures are unparalleled, and I deeply appreciate their nostalgic charm and historical significance. Our journey took us from Glenwood Springs to Crested Butte, and Ouray was the perfect stop in between. Avoiding the Million Dollar Highway made for a safer drive, and the town of Ouray, nestled beneath stunning mountain landscapes, is an absolutely gorgeous western gem. Another great feature for adults seeking a romantic evening away is that this establishment does not allow children or dogs. This means you can enjoy a peaceful sleep without the sound of crying babies and walk barefoot on the rugs without worrying about pet accidents. To be clear, I do love dogs and children--I have plenty of nieces, nephews, and fur babies myself--but sometimes, it's wonderful to get a sitter and enjoy a peaceful retreat in a beautiful, old-fashioned western town. At the time of our stay, the Roosevelt Tavern was not open, but it should be in a few days. Its beautiful hunter green color and funny pictures of Teddy Roosevelt give it a unique, historical, and artistic vibe. I'm sure the food will be great, as the owners have wonderful taste. The coffee shop is adorable, and the coffee was amazing. The friendliest girls made me the most delicious caramel macchiato with almond milk! We plan to come back and stay in the Presidential Suite. During our visit, we stayed in the Tower, which was charming. However, we were fortunate enough to see the Presidential Suite, and it is absolutely breathtaking. Brides should definitely stay here! The ceiling is gorgeous, and there is a huge picture window with a stunning mountain view on the way to one of the bedrooms. The suite has two bedrooms. I also want to point out that this is a very clean hotel--the cleanest one we stayed at during our trip in Colorado. We stayed at the Oxford in downtown Denver, Hotel Colorado in Glenwood Springs, and the Crawford Hotel in Manitou Springs, but the Beaumont was the most comfortable, with the best mattress and excellent air conditioning! I was nice and cool, and this was the only hotel that provided a fan--the perfect fan. I need the sound of a fan to sleep soundly, and I can't fit a nice one in my suitcase. Very accommodating and absolutely pulchritudinous historical hotel! The staircase was beautiful and the skylight was amazing. This hotel has an energy that is warm, friendly and hospitable. Each room has a personality unlike boring granola modern day stays. The windows open to the mountains and they are decorated in silk and lace curtains...the pillows were fluffy but not too fluffy they were the perfect size. The sheets were soft. The room was nice and cool. There was a microwave where I could heat up my gluten free muffin and a cute table where I could eat it. I love this place and can't wait to come back! This is more than a place to rest your head, this is a unique experience nestled in the beautiful old western town of Ouray, Colorado. We stayed at this historical hotel because our friends who were traveling with us wanted to try a few historical hotels on our trip to Colorado this one was not one that I would recommend nothing on they web was like it was when we arrive first it is an impressive building and the lobby is very impressive check in time is 4 PM and checkout time is 11 AM that gives 19 hours once you start going to the rooms that's where the problem starts we had the Hoover room They called it a suite it was by no means a suite very bland plain non-exciting maybe an old desk bed was uncomfortable sheets were old looking sheets cover on the bed was non-existing bedspread was what used to cover yourself no outlets on the desk area needed to get an extension cord in order to connect all our iPad and iPhone. the air-conditioning did not work properly when I called they brought me a fan really I'm spending all this money and I get a fan also when we open the small refrigerator they were charging three dollars for water they couldn't give you a bottle of water !! Also for ice You were told to use the ice in the refrigerator freezer. The towels were nice in the bathroom and they had bottles of all the body wash shampoo conditioner and body lotion They had a nightlight in the bathroom which is a good thing since you need to figure out how to get there in the middle of the night without leaving the bathroom light on all night. had a tub with shower attached. that was so high that was hard to climb into and no bars to hold on to not very safe for people of any age ! Then they said that you could pick up a bag to go breakfast the bag to go wasmaybe worth two dollars look at the picture Real with this caliber so they say of this hotel we-would assume even if it was a pick up bag it would have more upscale muffins bars and a piece of fruit. cost in this historical property hotel in this small town was very expensive. !!!did hear this hotel is for sale I hope the new owner does more for it because this is not a place for anyone to spend this kind of money to stay. read more

After six months of confinement in our houston home, we needed to escape. We wanted a quiet place nestled in scenic natural beauty. We looked at the USA map and two minutes later we agreed that we should return to the Beaumont Hotel in Ouray, Colorado. So we did. A wonderful three night stay in this grand hotel. It is a beautifully restored gem that is a great escape into comfortable quiet. We never heard another guest or tge staff during our stay. Oh how such silence is a treasure when you live in the center of a bustling metropolitan city. Our room was perfect. A great king size bed, a spacious bathroom and amenities that fulfilled our needs and desires. What makes the hotel very special are the folks that make the Beaumont your home during the stay. Whether it's Carla, Shannon and one other whose name escapes me - so sorry- at the front desk helping you plan your day, making reservations for you or just making you feel welcomed....or....it's Lisa and Tammy in the spa that will rejuvenate your weary bones with a great massage...everyone was wonderful. The Beaumont is the pearl of Ouray. It sits proudly on the corner and is flanked with Oursy's charming historic storefronts of Main Street. It's a great town...friendly...close to outdoor adventure as well as a nice meal and a glass of wine. So if you're tooling down one of the most beautiful drives in the nation stop in Ouray and when you do - make the Beaumont home and a great memory. This was our third stays. We will return. I was worried about staying in an old historical hotel but this hotel was really beautiful and i really enjoyed my stay. Not only is Ouray a great location for adventure but this hotel has a lot of charm from its grand staircase to the design of its rooms it really makes you feel like you're travelling back in time. The people who worked there were also extremely nice and helpful with everything. Probably the most friendly of all the hotels i stayed at this trip. I was worried about historic hotels potentially not having AC or having uncomfortable beds or being able to hear through paper thin walls but NONE of this was the case. Very comfy bed, ac worked great and couldnt hear anything outside my room. Would absolutely stay here again and recommend others do the same. read more

This is a great hotel. The ambiance is amazing, the only member of the staff we met was obviously born to do this job! I wish I remembered her name but she went out of her way to help with anything and everything every time we saw her. The rooms are what you would expect from an historic hotel, but with modern heating, tv, fridge, microwave etc. I highly recommend this place. This hotel is as good as it gets! We came up for a company holiday party at the Beaumont and had the most wonderful time! The hotel has been restored to all the splendor it had when it was built in the 1880s. The staff was extremely helpful and nice. The rooms were nicely decorated and so comfortable. We were lucky and got a room with a huge bathroom, claw-footed tub and separate shower. It was awesome and comfortable. My friend's room was the tower suite, which has a spiral staircase to a sitting room on the second level. The staff did an amazing job on the holiday party. They worked very hard to make sure that we all had a wonderful time. The ballroom and bar on the second level were both beautifully decorated and festive. We hosted 50 guests at the Beaumont in Dec of 2020 for our Wedding. Unfortunately, we were disappointed with the overall experience. Although the venue is beautiful and offers a perfect setup for weddings, we won't be able to leave a positive review or recommend your hotel. Here is our feedback; 1) The kitchen was not ready for the caterers. They arrived in a freezing kitchen with cold plates/flatware. Resulting in cold food for guests. 2) The sideways/walkway were not shoveled. This created complications for pictures and guests that were coming and going. 3) Parking was unclear and left a couple of guests speaking with a police officers explaining why they were parked on the side of the road. 4) There were small details that should've been managed by the staff that failed (ie) assistance with Bluetooth connection during rehearsal, burnt out light bulbs in the Grand Ballroom and empty body wash bottles in some of the rooms. 5) Tight and restrictive Contract that made planning stressful, especially during unique circumstances. read more

Absolutely fell in love with Ouray and the Beaumont Hotel!! Ouray is the working classes Telluride... nothing pretentious or snooty about it. Every single person we encountered was friendly and welcoming. The Beaumont is a GORGEOUS place to stay! Refurbished 1880's hotel done in EXCELLENT taste. The room was extraordinarily comfortable and with well appointed and beautiful fixtures in the bathrooms. They absolutely paid great attention to every detail of the remodeling and the results are fantastic. The customer service is TOP NOTCH!! We were welcomed so nicely and when we asked for ice to be brought to our room, we were told a tip was not necessary and it was their 'pleasure'. The parking is wonderful and the hotel is right on the main strip, easy to find and surrounded by tons of shopping and restaurants. Couldn't have been more pleased with our stay there... almost wish we stayed longer!! read more

We were in the Presidential Suite which I highly recommend. There were fresh long stem roses, assorted truffles from the local candy shop and of course a bottle of sparkling wine. This is a one of a kind experience. There are 14 rooms, and each room has it's unique features. I feel confident saying each room shares the same level of luxury. The water was tasty from the sink, the air conditioning was silent, you can open the windows for mountain air and the fit and finish is impeccable. The breakfast was light, and a perfect way to start the day. The Spa was very nicely done and clean. The staffs goal was to make our visit perfect. I see that they have a ballroom and an outdoor patio. This would be a dream come true for a wedding location. We enjoyed the conversations on the Hotel's history, Tyler was a delight. All-in-all, an unforgettable experience, we look forward to a return trip. read more

This is one of the most beautiful hotels I've ever stayed. My boyfriend and I had such a great experience here and we look forward to staying at this hotel every time we are in Ouray. Every staff member was helpful beyond belief. We were greeted by Zack who gave us a tour of the hotel and told us all about the hotels history. Our room was gorgeous! We had beautiful complimentary robes and access to the hot tub and Sauna were made by appointment for privacy which we really enjoyed. Complimentary breakfast ends at 9:30. Our 3 day stay at the Beaumont was very special for a number of reasons: 1. The staff is very supportive and helpful with all the needs as we got settled, planned events, and asked for support during our stay. 2. The historic building has been meticulously restored, and is like living in history, but with modern conveniences. 3. The amenities in the hotel are also top rated: The Spa (we used both the Jacuzzi Tub and massage services) and the Grill had excellent service and food. 4. We stayed in the Dove room, which was a wonderful suite, with excellent period furniture, a very comfortable bed, excellent WiFi, TV, and a great view of mountains and the main street of Ouray. Our son got married in Ouray and we (and our whole family) stayed at the Beaumont. We also had the rehearsal dinner in the grand ballroom. If you're the kind of person who appreciates historic hotels, you'll love this one. The rooms are decorated with period furniture and lighting. They tend to be a little dark ... but beautiful. The hotel is immaculate, and quite beautiful. Each room is different. Be aware that kids are not allowed to stay. The staff is very helpful and friendly. The owners, Jennifer and Chad, are in tune with every detail! Not to mention friendly and warm! I didn't visit the spa, but heard that it's very nice. They have wifi in the hotel, but I had a hard time with it from time to time. Be prepared to disconnect in Ouray, as the cell service is spotty, at best! That's the trade off for being in the beautiful mountains!! The caterer we used was not from the hotel, but the physical room was beautiful and intimate. The history of this hotel is very interesting. I would stay here again if ever in Ouray. read more

Everything advertised on the website is broken or not actually included. They have a nice courtyard that guests aren't even allowed to go in to and hot tub/sauna were broken yet I paid full price. I was told by front desk staff that they would put "a nice local wine" in the room but they put cupcake wine and charged me $40 for it. Huge dead wasp in our room and very unfriendly staff. Stay anywhere else for cheaper and more amenities. read more

I booked this hotel through Expedia, and needed to cancel due to trip changes. I cancelled one week after reservation ( 2 months prior to stay) and the refund did not show after 2 weeks. I contacted the hotel who could not fond my reservation. I then contacted Expedia who then found that the cancellation had not posted with the hotel, and then assured me it was cancelled and my refund would be posted. Ten more days and no refund - I contacted the hotel directly again yesterday, with a I'll get back to you today. Got a call today with your refund is being processed but we are with holding $35 per room as a cancellation fee. Expedia has no specifics on booking two rooms together counting as a block or group, which the hotel's policy is to apply a cancellation fee. Back on the phone with Expedia as all the hotel person would do is continuously quote their policy. Very frustrated and would NOT recommend this hotel based on this customer service. read more

I recently planned a romantic getaway to Ouray, as I had heard that it is the most beautiful part of Colorado. Being a native Coloradan, of course I have never been there. I was recommended this hotel by a friend, and what a great recommendation!!! Beautiful hotel, great service by staff that really seemed to love their job and love their hotel and located in a town that cannot be beaten for scenery. The rates were reasonable, and the rooms looked like the pics on the website- for which I was thrilled. My son just had his wedding there, and overall the experience was very good. The venue eligant and a veritable museum of antiques and period furnishings from the 1800's. Chad and Jennifer, the owners, are warm and gracious and overall were very attendent to the needs of the wedding party. As a private hotel guest, I would have no reservations staying there again. That being said, some words of caution on booking millenial weddings at this venue. This is a "delicate" venue and is not the best place to host a party with 20-something kids in the mix. Out of the hundred or so guests, Chad discovered one of our guests had brought in their own liquior. As per the contract, he ordered a $500.00 penalty for the infraction which I paid. Even though it was a private, closed party, they were extremely (and understandibly) uptight about their rules. I would recommend anyone contemplating a wedding at this venue to make sure all guests understand the nature of the Beaumont as a place where the owners will enforce fairly heavy fines for alleged rules violations. Thank God no one spilled any red wine on the carpet! read more

This might be an excellent hotel and spa BUT Please Do Not buy a gift certificate from them. My sister in law bought one for us and we asked if we could extend the expiration date for 2 additional days so we could get there and use it. (We live a long ways away.) Not only would they "NOT" extend it for us but they would not allow us to give it to a good friend who was planning on staying in Ouray before the expiration date. We sent them several emails AND I even talked to the Owner. He was amazingly rude and short sighted with his quick NO to our requests. I tried to explain to him that either we or my friend were planning on having dinner there and using their spa. I tried to explain that the profits made from us on the services we would purchase once there would more than pay for the cleaning of the room (for which there were many still available) and that we might have even upgraded our room choice. I tried to explain to him that instead of 3 couples now upset and frustrated with this business he might have 3 couples that became raving fans. But he would not listen to this logic. I really did want to visit this place. We love Ouray but only get there about once every 5 years and with the gift being a surprise the one year we had to use it went very quickly. We love the Weisbaden. Go there instead. Please note that this hotel is under new ownership so many of the positive reviews may be prior to when this couple took over. read more
