In regard to Dr. Boles' clinical skills, she is very insightful, highly intelligent, organized, empathic, and observant. I have consistently observed her willingness to effortlessly tune into everyone she works with and clearly interpret what they are verbalizing while offering validation. I believe this speaks to her strong rapport-building skills and genuine character. Additionally, Dr. Boles consistently demonstrates her ability to exercise sound clinical judgment; she asks questions with intentionality to thoroughly assess whoever she is working with to obtain relevant information. From being in supervision sessions with her, it is apparent that Dr. Boles is very knowledgeable of a wide range of psychological theories, which speaks to her competency as a clinical psychologist. She is well-informed of evidence-based treatments and personally speaking, it has been comforting to know that I was in proficient hands. On an interpersonal level, Dr. Boles is strong-willed, dependable, transparent, responsible, personable, and collaborative. Dr. Boles is able to question her own biases and be honest with herself and others. It is apparent to me that Dr. Boles is deeply committed to this work and invested in people's growth. I believe this contributes to her passion to not only work with a variety of populations, but to work with an array of problems, as well. Furthermore, Dr. Boles is very passionate about various social causes and relevant issues that affect our community, which again, speaks to her caring and perceptive character. Overall, it has been more than a delight to have Dr. Boles as my clinical supervisor. Dr. Boles constantly strives to set a positive example for others and is very open to share her knowledge with others. She claims she has no clue about the area.....what kind of person that claims to be a professional leaves a person in the lurch without any idea of a referral. Professionals that do not have a referral list clearly are more in it for the money than helping the person. Unprofessional, client beware! Meaning instead of helping my mother and I bridge our gap, heal and grow; The full year became sessions focused on me and how awful I am. I had no power as the two discussed how I'll understand when I'm a "real" mom as nagla and my mother have adult children and I only have my toddler, so I wasnot seen as an equal. Sessions endured with no regard to areas that needed healing for my mother and I. I was given goals, tasks and consequences while my mother was never pressured to do any of the like. Nagla constantly forgot the very few names brought up in every meeting, a fixed weekly schedule that we brought up every time seemed to be a surprise to her each time. sadly she didn't seem to care about my concerns as I was not the one paying. I found group therapy that helped me feel the confidence to post this. I feel better after stopping seeing her. It's been about 4 months and I feel much happier and confident again. What hurt me the most was in the first meeting, I mentioned the father of my son and him being estranged. the publicity of motherhood unwed and the accusations that came with it.
