UPDATE: for the next 2 days my fingers were in EXCRUCIATING pain. I mean really really awful pain because of how short he filed my nails which was totally unnecessary. Do not waste your money here. I want to start by saying that my last experience here before this one was a great one. The girl who did my nails was great. But today's experience was really bothersome. The man who did my manicure was working really fast for some reason, and it caused the whole experience to be extremely painful. I have short nails, and he filed them so much one of my fingers actually was bleeding a little bit when I got home. He was just overall very rough and it was a bad experience. They also overcharged me by $20 for something I never asked for. Its now been hours and my finger tips are still in pain. I really liked this place but after today I won't be back sadly. read more

This nail salon is usually so busy I decline to go in as I don't like waiting long lines to get my nails done. Fast forward ten years and I needed to get a mani-pedi for the weekend. I have to say that I was very impressed with the PRICES for a mani-pedi at this location and the wonderful customer service. I opted for a mani-pedi with no frills for $40. The technician really took her time with my cuticles both on my feet and my hands which was really what I want in the rare occasion I do get them done. I did not get the gel polish because I liked a terracotta colors that came in the Essie brand. My hands and feet turned out so pretty and I just found my newest favorite nail salon on the Westside. Friday nights around 5:30-6pm was the sweet spot time that changed my mind about patronizing this well established business. Great prices, meticulous nail techs and a comfortable, clean spa environment. I will definitely be going back to Beautiful Cuticle again. read more

So I have been coming here for at least six years because my review was done 6 1/2 years ago. Today I came in at 5:10 and they told me that they were pretty busy but I could wait so I did. That was nice. It says on the door that they close at 7:30 but they told me that they close at seven. I really appreciate that they stayed to take care of me although I was done before 7:30. Everybody that works here is pretty skilled. They were joking around and seem to be enjoying themselves. My problem is that when I was finished I attempted to use a gift cert I received for Christmas. Tony looks at it and says it's expired then goes on for 15 minutes about my friend that gave it to me "screwed me over" and why would she do that etc. I know for a fact that she bought this in December 2021 but the gift certificate is dated December 2020 expiring December 2021. I know because we were getting a pedicure here together at that time and she had finished before me and I saw her at the counter fooling around and apparently that was what she was doing. Look I get it, if you don't want to honor what we paid for that's OK but the 15 minute mocking of my friend for giving this to me was pretty uncalled for. Good business practice tells you that it's probably no harm to take that gift certificate since you clearly got the $50 already. So you might have gotten a free $50 by selling this gift certificate and not honoring it, but now you lost a customer who was happy to pay for the premium services on a regular basis, and tips 30% minimum. Unfortunate all the way around because I really liked this place but the principle alone will not allow me to return. Moral of the story, make sure you check the dates on your gift certificates before you pay for them. Bummer. read more

When I moved to this side of Jacksonville, I was looking for a good spot. I went here and like the family atmosphere. Unfortunately their service and pricing is not consistent. I have received good manicures and bad ones. I went to get a fill in and it was $65 I went two weeks later and it was $75. I've had my nails removed forcefully even after I said it hurt. Have used this salon a couple times now for a pedicure. This time we had a group with three pedis and two manicures. Staff is friendly and professional. The pedicures have a menu of various services you can select from. Pricing is in line with most other shops Only complaint is my teen had a manicure and the polish only seemed to stay put for a couple days and trust me she doesn't do housework or anything manual to knock it off! I got a mani pedi and my pedicure girl was excellent really took her time. My gel manicure (by mike) was extremely average. He put my hands in hot water and then started clipping my cuticles, never pushed them back. Also didn't even file my nails. Trying a new place out for Pedi's with friends...and friend suggested Beautiful Cuticle Nail Salon, due to the yelp reviews. She called and made appointments for us, so glad, they were packed and busy! Very nice clean place, plenty of seats for Pedi's and chairs for Mani's. They offer a couple different packages, I opted for the basic Pedi this day, but just may stop in for the deluxe next time. Drinks are offered, I'm not a wine girl, but it was really good! The techs take their time with you and engage in light conversation making you feel comfortable. The massage chairs almost made me fall asleep...tee hee hee! I made an appointment by phone for the following day to get my nails done. When I walked in, I let them know I had an appointment and the manager asked what for. When I let them know what I had the appointment for, they told me the person who was supposed to do it wasn't there and they had cancelled my appointment (they even scratched it out in their appointment book). They also asked me to come back in an hour. Now, when I scheduled my appointment, they did not ask for my phone number in case of cancellations, so I was told only after being in traffic for 45 minutes. Do not bother making an appointment. Even in the past when I have had one in the past, they have made me wait additional time and they try very hard to get everyone in so the service takes a long time. They do a good job, but at the cost of extended waits and not valuing your time as a customer. I'm done with giving this place more chances. Find another nail place if you value your time. read more

My new go-to! My feet were in major need of TLC and after reading Allie A's high praises (and seeing how close it is to me), I figured I'd check it out. VERY pleased with my visit! One thing I have to point out is that the young lady who did my pedi was respectfully QUIET! Lemme explain... I don't mind being social but call me crazy, one of my pet peeves during spa-like activities are interruptions of my relaxation by needless clucking. I don't know how many times I've been jarred into celebrity gossip or "telling a little" about myself, which sees no end once my being a Sailor is mentioned. I believe that when working hands-on with people, one should be able to properly read body language. If I lay my head back and close my eyes while my feet are being done, that means less talky more clippy. When I'm getting a massage, sthu and rub out my tension...I don't want to tell you how my day was! lol That may sound harsh but that's how it is with me... So back to what I was saying, I was able to thoroughly enjoy my deluxe pedi not only because she was damn good at it but because the only things out of her mouth were directly in regard to my comfort level. I, usually, end up going to whichever nail salon is closest now that we live all the way out on the Westside. I've experienced the good, the bad, and the ugly. Beautiful Cuticle is a good one, sorta. I have only ever gotten a manicure twice in my life (my senior prom and my best friend's wedding). However, I always get my toes and eyebrows done, especially when I was still Active Duty and my feet needed it much more than they do nowadays. As it was a few days before Valentine's Day, I chose a dark, royal purple (my favorite color) and got cute holiday-inspired designs on my big toes. My only hesitation about Beautiful Cuticle is that I seemed to get a beautician who was rather new. The water for my pedi was on the colder side and when she did my eyebrows, she pulled much harder than anyone else that I've experienced. The whole experience was very confusing. They started my pedicure as soon as I got there, that was nice. They then moved me to a different chair to get the polish applied, where I waited thirty minutes for someone to do that. Stopped into this salon with my mother, sister, and a friend before we took our big family vacation. I wanted to make sure my toes were presentable as we would be wearing flip flops. I decided on the gel mani and pedi because with gel polish you can be sure your polish will stay perfect for a very long time. I was originally going to get a teal color until I saw a beautiful red on the lady next to me and switched to that. My pedicure was very relaxing and they did a very nice job. My manicure was nice as well though I don't think they spent as much time on my hands as they did on my feet. The polish, as usual, has lasted quite a while. I am writing the end of this review after our entire two week vacation and they still look freshly polished. I love gel paint for this very reason. My sister, who had regular paint on her nails has long since lost her polish. I don't think her paint last more than a day or two. Gel is really the way to go. This salon was a bit more than I usually pay for these service but they did a nice job. The place was clean and they were friendly. I would visit again. read more

I have tried many nail places in town and I am usually disappointed. I started coming here a few months ago and I love it. I usually get the basic manicure which is $22. They always ask me if I would like a drink and if I am comfortable. I like that thier basic manicure comes with a sugar scrub because most people don't include it. This is my best kept secret in town, but, sigh, I suppose it's time to share this place. If you need a gel mani: GO HERE. I've been to a slew of other nail places in town, Town Center, Southside, Riverside and had been repeatedly disappointed. Either the nail paint job was shoddy, without a clean line around the cuticles, or no one wanted to do a gel pedi, or I got nicked pretty bad, or one gal actually gave me a hot stone massage without any oil. OUCH! I always left cursing myself because I would leave a great tip, and it was not deserved. And my nails looked like crap. On a whim, I decided to walk into Beautiful Cuticle. They had an opening so I went for it. Tony, Van and crew are unbelievably awesome!!!!! Free soda, water or wine when you walk in. I told them about my previous nail salon woes, and they let me know the other folks weren't doing it right and using the wrong type of light to cure on the gel manis will take off a few weeks of sleek beautiful-ness. They had no problems accommodating me for a gel pedi (I know it's a little much, but I want all my digits to match and I am incredibly hard on my lil piggies), pricing is super affordable and the pedis are relaxing with all the fixins', paraffin, scrub, mask, hot towels and killer massages.(Go for the deluxe! It's only a couple bucks more and sooooo worth it.) Manis are flawless. I hardly ever get chips and can usually go an entire month in between. Perfect edges, perfect nail shape, and even when I came in with a super special request (black matte polish french) they did me up right. I take my boyfriend here too for his mani/pedi and it's always a great experience filled with funny conversation and a laid back atmosphere. I will not go anywhere else. Tip: Afternoons and weekends can get pretty busy, it is wise to call ahead for an appointment, especially if you have somewhere to be. read more
