Do not go here. I waited a few days to post a review here because I was very upset about my experience with this groomer. I'll never know how she treated my pup either. But, I imagine she was not gentle or kind. She has got to be the most hateful groomer/person I've dealt with. I'm the patron coming to you for a service for my pup. Pup has chopped facial areas. Jaimie answered all of my questions..helped me with my ignorance of dog grooming as we chatted for nearly a half hour. She understood my concerns and was willing to accommodate my hesitation of clipping my pup's flowing locks..fast forward to picking up my boy..he looked AMAZING! Not shaved, a beautiful job of blending the shorter areas with the ears and leg "fringe".. her husband helped get him into the car ..my pup was relaxed and not wound up at all. Seriously? I couldn't be happier! I felt heard and my opinion mattered. I will definitely return when he is ready for his next Spa treatment! Thank you Jaime and Hubby for a professional job! If I could I would give 0 stars! I have a AKC registered dachshund, my mother in law took her in for us and this lady has completely ruined my dogs hair. For having "AKC show dog grooming" under her belt as she says, she WOULD know better to NEVER shave her but only trimmed. When she called my mother in law she stated she was only going to do a trim, upon pick up she is completely shaved down to no hair. It's really upsetting as she has ruined her double coat fur and probably will never grow back normally again. I DO NOT RECOMMEND TAKING YOU DOGS HERE! She will ruin them. From other reviews it seems as she won't take any responsibility and still force you to pay her, DO NOT go here. I am beyond angry. I can not state enough, DO NOT GO HERE. There are other places with much better reviews and friendlier staff and owners! For your dogs sake don't put them through this ever! read more

I've been taking my two dogs here for about 2 years and they always did a great job, BUT, the last couple of cuts aren't making the cut anymore and the price has gone up. I'm not sure what's going on but I'm thinking it's time to find someone who grooms Our dogs like we asked and at one point they did that but not anymore. My dogs are also afraid of going in and that's never happened with other groomers! Hmmmmmm, what's going on here now? I'm at a crossroads as if I need a new groomer or not but I have noticed that in the past 6 to 8 months that things are not what they once were. read more

They should understand that people have emergencies and very busy lives and stuff happens that are out of our control. anyways just thought it was bad customer service. I have been taking our dogs to be groom here for 6 plus years, they have always been pleasant and done a great job. I will no longer be doing business with them as of now. I was treated very poorly when we missed our recent appointment. I work nights and my husband has been going through Chemo and does not always remember things. We rescheduled to 11 the following day, however Jamie insisted it was at 10:30AM. When I called I was told she would no longer do our dogs, which I found to be rude and uncalled for after all the years we have been supporting their business. I have always been understanding when our dogs were kept for 3 hours at a time when they were running behind. For a local business, I find this to be rude and uncalled for. We will be taking our business somewhere else and not recommending this place to anyone else. Very rude people. read more

My Westie has always loved going to the groomer. We tried Beauty and the Beast. I was satisfied with the grooming the first time, but when I went to return for the next appointment, my dog literally put on the breaks and wound not go inside. He was petrified. So I'm not sure what happened, but it was obviously a bad experience. Never went back. read more

We've been in Coarsegold about a year, and are more than pleased with the bathing and grooming services this couple provides for our Miniature Schnauzer. We could see that the front door was open from the street. We had our dog with us, so we dropped in. Never been here before. The lady working didn't have time to give our dog a bath unless we just left him there and picked him back up at 4:00PM...it was 11:20AM. But she said she could cut his nails right now. She worked very quickly, one minute later she was done. Then she took a squirt​ bottle and sprayed him on the back and handed him over. Cost $10.00 I have never paid that much to get his nails cut before. The most I've paid was $7 so it was a bit high. I don't mind paying more​ if the service matches the price. In this case,​ it did not. His nails were still long after she cut them, to the point that I almost asked her to please cut more off. But since we weren't greeted, (she never said her name even though I introduced my dog to her) and I was a bit upset that I had to ask why she sprayed my dog on the back just to learn it was a "cologne​" when I don't wear cologne and certainly​ wouldn't want my dog to wear cologne...therefore upset that she didn't even ask. I figured it wouldn't be worth asking her to recut them and frankly,​ I just wanted my dog back and to get out of there. I'm glad to read that some people have had good service here, unfortunately​ for us, this was not the case. I'm a local, I love to support local businesses. There is one thing our mountain area has yet to catch on to...CUSTOMER SERVICE. Especially in a place like this where your business dies if you don't have repeat​ customers. When paying customers walk into your store​ I would try (smile) "Hi there I'm _____! Welcome to Beauty and the Beast how may we pamper your pooch today?" For me,​ that would have made me smile and I would feel comfortable and confident about leaving my baby there. It honestly doesn't take much. But if you want my hard earned money, you're going to have to give a little bit of effort, sorry. There are plenty of dog groomers on this mountain and unfortunately,​ I'm still on the hunt for a decent one. NEVER AGAIN!! The lady in there has a BAD HABIT of talking down to me. She has no respect whatsoever for the people that actually pay her wages. Especially now when I'm sure her business is more than likely STRUGGLING. Yeah, we have other options and trust me ... we will NEVER GO BACK to her rude, nasty self along with her GOON who seems to think he's a tough guy. Anyway. I explained that if there are certain rules in place all she has to do is EXPLAIN and don't yell at anyone as if they were her child. Or put up a SIGN with all your rules. As I learned many years ago as a young manager with a multi-Billion Corp...Mgmt 101 ..BE CLEAR, BE SPECIFIC! NO ONE CAN READ YOUR MIND! With that said I WILL NEVER SPEND A PENNY IN HER ESTABLISHMENT. I believe in supporting LOCAL BUSINESS. But when the owners act in such a manner... they will never have my support! And you better believe that I will be sure to tell ALL my friends, family and neighbors about my experience and will strongly recommend another groomer in the area. I've taken my dogs three senior Queensland Heelers and a three pound Yorkey to Beauty and the Beast for ten years when Jamie was in Poway Ca. My dogs are the first ones to tell me when they are fearful or hesitant to return to a place where they are uncomfortable. The practically pulled me into this shop. Professional gentle and meticulous. I have been unsuccessful in finding a groomer anywhere as amazing as Beauty and the Beast since they moved. Not only is Jamie an exceptional groomer she is extremely knowledgeable about animals in general and was vigilant in pointing out any areas of concern. This husband and wife team are awesome. We have a vacation home in Coarsegold. We always bring our 3 dogs, including our long hair mini dachshund, Aspen. We have not found a better groomer on the Central Coast, so Aspen always comes here for her trim. Beauty and the Beast Pet Grooming does a great job and treats my baby girl like a princess. They give her a wonderful smelling bath. Then, they trim her smoothly, with no choppiness. She gets the full work up. We are very happy to find a great groomer so close by. Staying in Mariposa during the quarantine I drove past Beauty and the Beast grooming and noticed it was open. I made an appt. for my little dog to get a shampoo and cut and she came back AMAZING! After calling to make an appointment for our dogs first visit we were quoted a price. My wife made mention that it was half again as high as iour regular groomer in Oakhurst who was booked until the end of the month. My wife went and booked the appointment. 15 minutes later she gets a call from the owner telling her that my wife paid less to the other groomer because my wife didn't care that much about her dog for not paying the higher price. Really lady? First time dealing with this person and the last. We cancelled the appointment at that time. We are senior citizens and watch our money. We also have our dogs with us 24-7. No neglect by any means. They are spoiled rotten, eat the best food, etc. What nerve this lady (?) has to intentionally call back just to harass my wife because she questioned her rates. Beware folks. There's a reason she was able to book an appointment that soon...do to lack of business. All other groomers in town are booked solid.....Live and learn. Buyer beware. read more

The woman was so unpleasant when we arrived, especially to a new client, that I had second thoughts about leaving my precious companion. I should have trusted my gut. Upon pick-up, the woman's attitude was no better and she even made a less than kind remark about my dog. Two days later my dog had raging ear infections in both ears necessitating multiple trips to the vet and a bunch of medicine. Is the groomer to blame? Who knows, but I'm never going there again and will not encourage anyone I know to go there. read more
