I was referred to this location nearby the location we were staying at. I came in a few days prior to my appointment to discuss what I wanted and Alison had time this week, so I scheduled it. I was there for 2 hours and loved every minute. The salon is cute, clean and above all, very welcoming and kind. My hair is curly and that always is a concern. I haven't cut or colored my hair since before Covid, so I was nervous. I have been aging a lot lately and the gray hair is coming in fast and furious. Alison nailed the cut and color! With Covid, I feel completely safe there as masks are required and when I get my color done, the only two people in the salon, are Faith and I. I saw Alison's ad on Facebook and talked with her. Told her I wanted a balayage and to go lighter overall. I wanted change. I sent her the first photo which was how my hair looked before. She sent me photos back (I'll insert) saying..."I think the pictures I showed you is what I can definitely give you and probably exceed even the expectation of that"... but when I left the salon and got into different lighting and angles, my hair was completely patchy and hardly any different from before. It even looked nothing like the photos she said it could look like. She said toner would lighten my hair too. It didn't. I asked if she could add more color, she agreed but only one side... I decided it wasn't even worth traveling an hour out again. I asked for a partial refund but she refused and said "it was a nightmare from when you walked through the door." I felt rushed out and I'm completely sad about the outcome. She threatened to take me to small claims court if I disputed the charge too. I trusted her with my hair. Having moved to Flagstaff 3 yrs ago from the Valley...I have never been comfortable with the nail salons I have gone to. Finally upon recommendation from a friend I went to Schyenne today and it was Heaven!!!! I highly recommend this committed, dedicated, talented lady. The only reason I am giving this two stars because it is IMPOSSIBLE to get in contact unless you walk in. I have contacted them multiple times over the past year for services and either they don't answer or they tell you to call a specific person in the salon, and that person doesn't answer. Same thing happened with my friends 3 times. read more

Eek... sorry beauty barn, but I can not recommend you! I called ahead and verified they had a lot of experience with tape-in extensions. I've had them for a year and a half so I'm pretty familiar with the process. They didn't wash my hair with the shampoo that takes out natural oils. She didn't even fully dry or straighten my hair before putting the new extensions in. And weirdest of all, about ten of the same extensions (prepared by my long-time hair stylist in Montana) fell out within the first two weeks. I can't speak to their color and cut talents, but the extension services made it clear the training was minimal. read more

Denise is absolutely awful! Most inconsiderate stylist I have ever had. Had a scheduled appointment which I had arrived for on time. Mind you it would be a 3 hour appointment, so scheduling for a nurse was hard to do. After waiting an hour she then tells me sorry for the wait it will be about another half an hour, which turns into an hour. She kept furthering and furthering my time with no care that she was making my late for other pressing things I had for the day. Until it had been a few hours I walked out of the salon only with Denise saying "sorry" and getting a text hours later saying "next time I will plan better and give you a discount". This by no way cut it. I understand being late as most stylists are due to the nature of the work however there is a point where it is not only professional but human nature and considerate to make your customer aware of your HUGE lack of ability to schedule appointments with enough time. A simple text message or call would have made the whole problem go away. If she cared for anyone but herself she could have rescheduled the appointment or told me of the hours of delay in advanced. She is by far the most disrespectful I have ever been treated in my life. She will lose many clients and referrals unless she learns compassion. Please save yourself anger and a day.
