I kinda want a side updo curly thing with this birdcage veil and uhhh, I want to GLOW golden for my photos" was about the extent of what I communicated to her. I ran late to my appointment ('poor time management' was of course the culprit.. it was my wedding day and needless to say I was running around a lot!) and Marda had literally cleared a block of time for me and was very gracious about my schedule. She set to work on my hair, accommodated both my birdcage veil and my vintage barrette, plus worked around my photographer and my phone calls and my whitening strips, etc. etc. Basically, she rocked. She's also incredibly affordable, generous of her time and energy, and a warm person to spend time with. Marda made me feel confident & beautiful throughout the whole day. Jen is also fun (they were in the midst of battling with the phone company about a static-y line and I appreciate the banter), and all the regulars of the salon made me feel so at home (they were complimenting me left and right - talk about ego boost!!), which was great for my wedding considering that we only visit the area about 5-6 times per year and I definitely needed the encouragement and familiarity. I've been clumsily trimming my own bangs with fabric scissors for the past couple of months - and I recently did a pretty appalling job of trying to "clean" up the ends of my hair. Since my haircut with Stephanie - my hair feels fantastic. She nourished my locks with hydrating products, she did a soothing scalp massage, she thoroughly blew-dry and combed my hair (which was definitely a long process considering how long it currently is) and she made sure to check in with me every step of the way - in regards to the length that I wanted and in how I wanted my bangs styled and cut.
