I messaged her to confirm it about a week before my appointment, she said everything was good to go.... Then she cancelled on me 2 days before the appointment. She said her grandma wasn't doing well, but turns out she has 7 bridesmaids and 3 prom girls scheduled on the same day/time I was scheduled for and she hasn't cancelled on them... so... she overbooked herself and I was the easiest to get rid of. I WISH things would've turned out better. She did offer me an appointment a week later, but at that point I had lost all trust and was so disappointed that I told her it wasn't worth rescheduling.

I kinda want a side updo curly thing with this birdcage veil and uhhh, I want to GLOW golden for my photos" was about the extent of what I communicated to her. I ran late to my appointment ('poor time management' was of course the culprit.. it was my wedding day and needless to say I was running around a lot!) and Marda had literally cleared a block of time for me and was very gracious about my schedule. She set to work on my hair, accommodated both my birdcage veil and my vintage barrette, plus worked around my photographer and my phone calls and my whitening strips, etc. etc. Basically, she rocked. She's also incredibly affordable, generous of her time and energy, and a warm person to spend time with. Marda made me feel confident & beautiful throughout the whole day. Jen is also fun (they were in the midst of battling with the phone company about a static-y line and I appreciate the banter), and all the regulars of the salon made me feel so at home (they were complimenting me left and right - talk about ego boost!!), which was great for my wedding considering that we only visit the area about 5-6 times per year and I definitely needed the encouragement and familiarity. I've been clumsily trimming my own bangs with fabric scissors for the past couple of months - and I recently did a pretty appalling job of trying to "clean" up the ends of my hair. I could tell just through her glowing reviews and her genuine website bio - that she was a wonderful person and a talented stylist. I was excited to book my appointment. Since my haircut with Stephanie - my hair feels fantastic. She nourished my locks with hydrating products, she did a soothing scalp massage, she thoroughly blew-dry and combed my hair (which was definitely a long process considering how long it currently is) and she made sure to check in with me every step of the way - in regards to the length that I wanted and in how I wanted my bangs styled and cut. My haircut experience was absolutely exceptional because Stephanie truly cares. She's a remarkable stylist who is passionate about her work and her clients. My favorite aspect of my haircut was just how kind and thoughtful Stephanie is. She exudes goodness. Her eyes light up as she works with you on a plan for your hair. On top of that, I also had a receding hair line that started after becoming a mother. After coming here my curls came alive again, my hair started growing in fuller, I stopped having breakage and my hair line came back (this part makes me the happiest). My hair has never been healthier in my life and also has never looked better. She was rude, dismissive and basically talked over me the whole time. When I asked why she wasn't letting me say anything, she just said I already did! No respect for the client! And she hung up on me! If you go to this salon where she supposedly has been in the business for over 30 years, DO NOT USE TONI! She will give you the worst cut you've very had!!!
