This is what happened. Was supposed to be basically an update of my shoulder length, curly/wavy hair with long layers. Stylist completely botched cut, didn't even bother to style it, told me to go home, wash it and see if it was ok. She cut it too short in places, angled the layers wrong, disrupting curl patterns, leaving shelves and uneven, asymmetric gaps. Left me thoroughly traumatized. When I contacted the salon, the owner Jessica Smith made no attempt to fix it, instead told me to never come back: "it is in everyone's best interest to conclude our professional relationship at this time" (she didn't like the negative review I posted).

I was overcharged!…read more I scheduled a hair and makeup appointment for prom. Ultimately on the day of my appointment I decided on a style I saw in a picture and showed my stylist. My stylist explained to me it would just be my hair curled and then a Bobby pin to pull a front section back. My hair turned out nicely, but only if I knew that one Bobby pin cost me $25!!! I think that is a little unreasonable because if I were told that one Bobby pin would make my total $25 more expensive, I would have not paid for it. Also to mention that when I was checked in, nobody offered me anything to drink. This would not have been a problem if the lady checked in after me wasn't politely greeted, offered, and served a glass of water. Perhaps it was my age, but regardless, I am a paying customer. Considering I waited 30 minutes for my appointment to start, it was infuriating that somebody who waited 5 minutes got water in that short amount of time. My makeup did turn out nicely. And so did my hair! But perhaps being older would have made my experience more enjoyable.

I scheduled an appointment with Denise as she's listed as a Master Stylist. She also has curly hair…read morelike mine, so I figured she would be able to do a good job. When I got there she seemed okay, just a bit distracted. She began with washing my hair, where she gave the Lightest "scalp massage" and I'm not certain that she put any conditioner in. Then when I got into her chair she put it all the way to the ground, so that I could only see from my eyes up in the mirror while she cut my hair. To the point that she was literally on her Knees to do her job. She barely asked what I wanted, then didn't even follow that. I asked for layers to round the shape of my hair out, for it to sit about shoulder length, and my bangs to be cut at cheekbone length. Instead hair was past my shoulders in the front and long and Mullety in the back as if she didn't cut that at all. My "bangs* were down to my mouth and there were Zero discernable layers to be found anywhere. When she asked if I wanted her to do anything else I asked for it to be cut shorter, she trimmed the front 2 pieces a tiny bit and that's it so I decided not to ask for anything else, as she already wasn't doing what I asked. Not once during the total of Thirty minutes that she spent on my hair did she check if the length was ok, what I was thinking about it or anything. She spent most of the time making my hair frizzy AF then fluffing it around than she did taking time to cut my hair. She also did not offer me a mirror at Any point to see the back. I feel like she was distracted the entire time, did not actually want to cut my hair for some reason, and left me looking ridiculous. I walked out of the store with a fluffy, frizzy, mullet and paid almost $100 for it. I absolutely will Not be back and Highly discourage Anyone from going to see Denise. I ended up going to my friend's house afterwards, waking her up, and together we did a Significantly better job than Denise.

I sent a few photos I had found for inspiration and after a brief consultation, she put in some additional highlights added some gorgeous blue and teal tones to my hair. I absolutely love it!
