I think what contributes to that is that The studio operates on an appointment only basis. No walk-ins. So when you come in, you feel special. The studio is located on Owensmouth between Sherman Way and Wyandotte. There is metered parking out in front but there is also a a few free parking spots if you can find one. Note: If you have an appointment on Saturday, arrive early and look for parking on the side streets. There is a farmers market every Saturday And they close off the street right in front of the studio. Second note: book your appointment early because these ladies get booked fast!

Before my appointment, I messaged the salon owner and explained that I'm very nervous about getting haircuts because I've had a bad experience in the past. She reassured me that I would be in good hands with Cassandra. I also personally explained my concerns to Cassandra when I arrived. Unfortunately, the haircut I received was the worst haircut I've ever had. When I left, my hair was noticeably uneven all around. I was extremely upset because I had specifically communicated how anxious I was about my hair and trusted the salon to take care of me. During the appointment, Cassandra also suggested using a hot tool to place curls at the bottom of my hair so they would hold. I did not ask for this additional service, yet I was charged over $120 for the haircut and blow-dry. After I contacted the salon owner to explain that my haircut was completely uneven, I was offered the option of returning that same day so Cassandra could fix it. After having an experience like this, I was not comfortable going back to the same stylist or salon to have the haircut corrected. I declined and asked about receiving a refund. What disappointed me even more was how the situation was handled afterward. I was only offered a refund for the haircut and not the blow-dry service. As a stay-at-home mom with two little ones, I don't have an income of my own and rarely get the opportunity to take time away for myself. Spending over $120 on a haircut and blow-dry was already a significant expense for me. I then had to arrange childcare, spend additional money, and find another hairstylist to correct the haircut. This wasn't simply a haircut I didn't personally like. My hair was left visibly uneven, and I had to spend even more time and money having another professional fix it. I'm extremely disappointed not only with the haircut itself, but with how the salon owner handled my concerns afterward. I expected empathy and accountability, especially after I had made my anxiety about haircuts clear before my appointment. Unfortunately, based on my experience, I would not recommend Granada Hair and Makeup to anyone looking for a haircut.

When she arrived, the salon door was locked and it appeared to be closed. A few minutes later, someone came to unlock the door and let her in. After washing her hair, they reviewed the inspiration photo together and began the service. Unfortunately, when my daughter came home, her hair looked nothing like the inspiration photo. It was completely straight with only a slight bend at the ends. No curls or waves were added--not with a round brush during the blowout or with a curling iron or other hot tool afterward. It looked like a basic straight blow-dry that I could have easily done at home. The service cost $100, which makes the result even more disappointing. We paid for a styled blowout based on the inspiration photo, but what she received was not even close to what was requested. For that price, I expected the stylist to either recreate the look or communicate if it wasn't achievable. Overall, I'm very disappointed with both the quality of the service and the value. I hope this feedback encourages better communication and more attention to delivering the style clients actually ask for. Definitely DID NOT GET WHAT I PAID FOR
