This place is amazing!! First let me start of by saying that i have been going here for probably a year if not more. I start of by going to them when they where still on brightion beach. They where a small group of ladies that where doing lash extensions. Then they moved to 1600 sheepshead-bay and expanded. When i tired there nail services i fell in love with them even more. They are such an amazing and talented ladies. Its Always a pleasure going to them. My lashes and nails and eyebrows all come out looking amazing. They are also all very nice and friendly. They always offer tea or coffee and they always make sure the customer is happy. I also tried there body treatment once for my birthday and it was amazing definitely will do that again sometime soon. Racist, condescending environment. Quality is all for their "regulars". They constantly complain how their back hurts doing pedicures etc. then don't become a manicurist. Even when you tip them good they get lazy and have an attitude to do your nails. Very judgmental environment & don't know how to run a business. I had my lash extensions done by Tanya. She was very sweet, polite and professional. Overall I was satisfied with my TOP lashes, but it was not what I wanted. First off, when I made the appointment I specified that I wanted bottom lash extensions, which they advertise & they told me only 1 technician does them, which is Tanya. So I booked my appointment with her. The place is very clean, comfortable & quiet. I explained to Tanya that I wanted "staggered lashes" & had pictures showing what I wanted. So she said she would apply a mixed set, which sounded good to me. I specified how I really liked how the staggered lashed in the pic had different lengths. She assured me that's how they would be. I also stated that my main reason for coming to her was for bottom lash extensions. She said Ok, but she has to apply the top first. Never said there may be an issue with my bottom lashes or anything else that may be a problem with applying the bottom extensions at this point even though she clearly examined them. She applied the top extensions. When she was finished, she showed me in the mirror. I immediately knew these were not what I wanted. They were very even in length, not staggered at all. But they didnt look bad & I knew I was pressed for time & wouldnt be able to stay longer to fix them since I knew that would take time. So now it was onto the bottom lashes...MY MAIN REASON FOR THE APPOINTMENT. She THEN tells me that the application can burn because some may get in my eyes. I said I will try it anyway. THEN she tells me my bottom lashes were very short and doesnt think the bottom lash extensions will look right. I said, this was my main reason for coming here & getting lash extensions at all. She said she would apply a few. At this point I was just like OK. So she applied 8 strands on each eye. They were all the same length, no variation. I THINK she used the same lashes for top lashes on the bottom. They were an awkward length. They did not go across the length of my eye, they stopped dead center. Some of them were adhered to my skin instead of an eyelash and fell right off. I was pissed, but I knew I had to go. I paid & left. Those bottom lashes didnt last 2 days. Half were off a couple off about 30 minutes in & the rest were off by day 2. The top lashes lasted over 2 months, but I took extremely good care of them. I researched how to care for them because all she told me was not to use oil to remove makeup and brush them with the ONE mascara wand she gave me twice a day. I dont know if I would go back. Maybe I would try another technician. Not because Tanya did a bad job, but I feel I was not given what I asked for & my bottom lash assessment should have been done before beginning the top lashes. I come to see Marina whenever I get my eyebrows done and she is the absolute best! She asks how you would like them at done, stencils the brows out (uses a measuring tool) and then shows you so you see exactly what she's going to do. She waxes them and goes in with tweezers - and it looks so good. I drive over from bay ridge, because it's so worth the results. Highly recommend Marina for brows! read more

So I was there for a regular appointment for gel manicure and I had a design request and the nail lady who's name I think was Eleina was really rude and rolled her eyes thinking I wouldn't notice....anywho all the girls talk in Russian (I'm not Russian) and I had a call from my girlfriend on the phone with AirPods (my friend is Russian) and I got a translation from my friend. Apparently the nail lady was annoyed with me and was venting how she can't wait to finish my nails so I could leave saying how I'm too picky and said a racist comment. Yeah that's a no from me. I get my lashes done with Katya. She's a true professional and knows exactly how to make your lashes look best on you. You don't even have to tell her what you want - she's just knows like a real artist. Every time I walk out of the salon - I feel like a princess these lashes really change you look and make you look like you just rolled out of bed looking this good. If you're looking for amazing lashes, this is the place to go. The ladies there are very informative and will answer any questions you have if you're a first timer. Katya is my personal favorite- she took the time to explain how long they will last (which was longer than I expected), best ways to take care of them, and when to come back if I needed to have them filled. I gave a try to this place 3 times and my lashes wouldn't last for more than 2 weeks. You cannot expect someone to do your lashes for an hour and charge a price like they have been working for 3! It felt like going to Chinese place where they do your nails for 20 minutes with a very poor quality. I'm a eyelash Tech myself and Ofcourse we all know it's almost impossible to do your own eyelashes individually because of the glue. It is my third day and I don't know what cheap glue or if it's done on purpose so customers come right back but almost all my lashes have fallen off. You would think for 120$ they would at least last a week . Which makes sense why they suggest filling 4-10 days after. the whole time my eyes were burning because of the placement of the under eye protector and she got anxious and just wanted to finish. They had preferred customers and it shows by the amount of time they had me wait because another client before me was late . This was the second time I tried them and I DO NOT RECCOMEND THEN TO ANYONE. I believe the good reviews are ops or preferred customers .. a lot of side eye to the brown people !! I'm very UPSET and beyond disappointed at the job done by Tanya. My first time here and saw the reviews and photos on Instagram. I usually ONLY go get my lashes done in San Diego and in Los Angeles by Star Lashes... (they lash the kardashians) but being that I live in NY now I took upon myself to build a relationship with a new lash technician. It looks like such a decent place !! Although my lashes did look GREAT ... they were so painful! During the session she kept pinching my lashes as if it were a removal ! & after I couldnt rub my eye without feeling like my lashes were stabbing me. I went to go and get a fill and it took 1.5 hours to remove these horrendous lashes !! The lashes were GLUED to my skin! And not just a few... so many of them were on both eyes. Causing them to be so itchy and also preventing my lashes from growing since they were unable to shed due to so much glue ! ! And instead of being glued to one lash... most were glued to multiple of my natural lashes ! The isolation and separation was nonexistent. .which by the way is a basic skill for ANY lash technician. It took TWO technicians to remove the clumps of glue done by Tanya and they were horrified when removing my lashes. Never have they seen a more terrible job. . Thank God I had a well experienced technician that was able to salvage my lashes without pulling them out. this was such a poor and lazy job and Tanya should be ashamed of her morals for letting me walk out like this. Wish I could have gotten a discount or a refund for these lashes !! If I could give them Zero stars I would! read more

I stumbled upon Lashes Department, maybe 2 months ago! And I have been twice since then. Classic & Volume Sets *two snaps and a neck roll peoples! I really wanted to get my eye lashes done before my trip month long trip to Australia, New Zealand, Trinidad & Tobago.... aka I waited last minute but didn't want to be too inconvenienced by location and wanted to find a reputable place. Great! Lashes Department! Great they have website! Oh no, the website wont let me book for tomorrow at 9 AM! So I called the number I saw on the website and boom! Katya picked up. I told her I wanted to book for the next day she said ok if you want the Classic Set we have time at 9:30 AM with Tanya. Bless her Soul! I got there around 9:00 AM to make sure I found street parking. I parked on the meters right in front of the building. Once you are buzzed in you will walk up one flight of stairs and turn left. It is the door across from the bathroom (which is very clean, and you need a code to enter). There are three technicians in the room. The room is very cozy and spacious. I received a warm welcome from all three technicians. Katya helped with communication a few times because Tanya does not speak English well. Also don't expect quiet, Katya has a long standing with her clients so they are usually very excited to see her and the eyelash appointment doubles as girls talk and therapy sessions. Its just lovely. I laid down put the blanket over me and zoned out. When I woke up I was done and very pleased with my Classic set. The lashes a really long time about 4 weeks before I decided to get them redone. This time I choose to try the Volume Set. It was done well, however I think the Volume Set is too much Glam and Wow for me personally. The Volume Set also lasted for 4 weeks and could have probably lasted longer if wasn't so anxious to be less Glam Wow! I'll definitely be back for a Classic Set! read more

Well deserved 5 star reviews for this lash spot in Brighton beach. Finally a lash place in south Brooklyn that's manhattan quality without the commute ( or cost of 5th ave rent) . They do amazing volume lashes. Some of the end lashes (stragglers that hang on forever lol) lasted well over 6 weeks. Definitely longer than any other place I've had lashes done before. This was my first time getting my lashes done, so I figured let me try out lash department. This was on the more pricier side of lash extension places, but I figured "hey, higher the price the better the quality." My technician was Tanya...I should have read these reviews about her before making the appointment. During the application she was on her cell phone talking to whoever, ok that didn't bother me. She was coughing non stop, that didn't bother me. What bothered me is that after only two days, some of the lashes fell out. Every day since that lashes have been falling out! These lashes are suppose to last a month! It has been a week and I have had 15 of the set of three lashes fall out! One eye is thicker than the other at this point. It's been a week. When notifying them about how unhappy I was after four days they said to come in on a Thursday either at 1 or 4... I work during the week, how would that work? After waiting a full week I messaged them again about how unhappy I was , and they said "well you can get fill in after two weeks".... umm no. And then when I said I will not be returning they offered a 20% discount off the next visit. For$160...$170 with tip, they should not be falling off after a few days! I am very upset over this.
