I can't say enough great things about this place! Another incredible experience after finding Tali five years ago on Groupon. I received the most amazing anti-aging facial. A few months ago I received a "cheaper" facial 1/4 of the price and the results were nowhere near what Tali can do with my face. She introduced me to luxury skincare brands and after all this time I went back to drugstore products I have to replace every other month. Tali and her facial were wonderful! My friend gifted me a certificate to use at a number of businesses, and I decided use it at this business to get a facial. It was easy to book an appointment, and Tali was able to fit me in within the next week. On the day of my appointment I had car troubles, so I was about 20 minutes late, but Tali was very understanding and accommodating. It was my first facial in a long time and Tali carefully evaluated my skin, explained what products she was using and why, and taught me how to continue taking care of my skin by recommending a regular skincare regimen. The products she uses are high quality, so they are expensive, but I was impressed with her services and felt good about supporting a local business so I bought a few products from her before I left. Two-weeks in and my skin is looking great with the products she recommended! Any time I have a question about my skincare regimen, or the products, I can text her and she is happy to answer/explain. Parking was not terribly difficult to find on the street in front of her shop, but could get challenging if it's a busy day. Her spa room is located at the back of a hair salon, but it felt very private and quiet. She accepts many forms of payment (e.g., cash, check, credit card, Venmo, etc). I met with Tali, who came highly recommended by a good friend of mine. I haven't been taking very good care of my skin and I was thinking about going to the dermatologist but then my friend recommended I see Tali first for a consultation. I've never a met a more knowledgeable aesthetician. She gave me a partial facial which was great all while examining my skin and explaining why certain things were happening. I found out SO much about my skin and I am so happy that I am taking the steps NOW, at 27, to prevent signs of aging and just get my skin to an optimal level. She charges $35 for a consultation but if you buy any products she waives that fee - you can't go wrong! I got a couple Dr. Grandel and Dermologica products and I'm so excited to start using them! Reading the other reviews I feel naive for having not read them first. I also bought this as a certificate for a 30 minute facial and a 30 minute glycolic peel. The other poor reviews describe my experience to a tee. I left feeling crappy about my skin, Talia wouldn't stop criticizing every aspect of my skin and personal life the entire time. I was also given an endless sales pitch in which the majority of the time I stayed silent, and she didn't get the hint. There were no extractions or steam, she just lathered a couple products on my face and said wow see the difference?! ...No I didn't. I left feeling scammed and unhappy and rather burdened about the quality of my skin. I do not recommend going to Tali for a real facial. read more

Gave one star because can't give zero and write a review. Bought a groupon for a 30-min express facial. First issue is the location/the room. It is stuffed with junk/beauty supplies/equipment on cheap shelves with things everywhere - it gave off a very dirty feeling - impossible to clean with so much clutter everywhere you look. I immediately told the lady i had an appointment and needed to get out of there quickly - all i really wanted to do was run.... but i paid so i stayed. If you think part of a facial is to get rid of blackheads then don't go here. Contrary to other facials (yes, even express facials) her service did not include black head removal and when i asked i was told this would cost $100. Maybe a mis-communication but based on the "ambiance" of the room alone i would not go back at any price. read more

I was given a gift certificate for a facial by my coworker after she had bought one of the promotions. So I didn't have to pay for the facial, just the gratuity. When Tali took me back to the room, I should have known to leave. It was packed wall to wall with products, there was no relaxing ambiance at all, it was basically the size of a storage closet. I would not describe the service I received as a facial. I was there for only a half hour, during which Tali talked the whole time, telling me I had every skin problem under the sun. She recommended what felt like a million products, describing each one in a way that felt like she was reading the promotional material off of the box. There was no steam, no extractions, no relaxation. There was a "pressure point massage" at the end which was basically some moderate poking. I am not one to leave bad reviews and not support a local business, but I felt totally scammed after this service. A facial is supposed to lift you up and make you feel beautiful. I left feeling awful about my skin and felt that I could have done a better job at home and had received no help. I would not recommend this service if you are looking for a real facial. Also, if you are having skin problems and feeling sensitive about them, Tali is not the person to talk to if you are looking to feel better! read more

I originally found Tali through a promotion, one of those discount cards you buy and get a certain number of services for a fixed amount. At the time, I had no intention of continuing my facials past the included services. La Jolla is not convenient for me, and a couple of times I have been tempted to try other facialists who were "closer', but let me tell you...I always came back to Tali. She is very reliable, we schedule our appointments a month in advance, and she never cancels or doesn't show up. She is also extremely knowledgeable about skin, and skin care products and she travels the world looking for new beauty secrets. I have been seeing Tali for over 10 years now and let me tell you, she is the best! In high school and college I struggled with bad skin. I had been seeing a top dermatologist and was prescribed medications like Retin-A, Differin and Brevolex. My skin was red, irritated, sensitive to the sun, and still not clear. I found Tali through a promotion thinking getting a facial would be a luxury treat. Well not only was it a luxury treat but it became part of my monthly routine. Tali shared with me that I had clogged pores and did not need to be on those medications but just needed to use good products and get regular facials. In Isreal, going to an esthetician is equivalent to going to the dentist--of course you would go! It's maintenance for your skin! After a couple of months of using good products and receiving facials, my skin was beautiful. I have been hooked ever since! Over the years I have had the opportunity to receive facials from other estheticians but it is never the same experience. Tali does not give the same "cookie-cutter" European facial to everyone. You will dip your hands in warm paraffin wax, lay back and enjoy pure relaxation (except the dreaded but needed extractions). She assesses your skin and concocts the perfect potion for whatever your skin is begging for. She also puts you on a skin regimen according to your skin type. And last but not least, she gives the best massage! I have also received laser hair removal that has actually been successful!!! The technology and currency of the products are always cutting edge.
