Unfortunately, this experience was very different and left me disappointed. For my first appointment, I accidentally arrived 30 minutes late because I misread the appointment time. I understand that being late was my mistake. However, I wish she had called or texted me to let me know I needed to reschedule instead of having me wait while she finished with other clients. She still completed my appointment, and I genuinely loved the shape of my eyebrows. During that first visit, she also made comments about my country and said that the food "uncleanliness" based on something she had seen on YouTube. I found those comments unnecessary and disrespectful. It made me feel uncomfortable, and I didn't expect to have my country or culture criticized during a professional appointment. About two weeks later, I felt my eyebrows needed a touch-up because they looked more like a tattoo than the soft, natural look I was hoping for. I contacted her, and she agreed to do a touch-up for an additional $80. Communication through text was not very clear, but we scheduled the appointment for 10:00 a.m. This is where my biggest disappointment began. I arrived on time--actually a few minutes early--but the studio was closed. When I called, she apologized and said she had forgotten to put me on her schedule. She asked if I could come back at 11:30 a.m. or 2:00 p.m. Unfortunately, I had already planned my day around the appointment, so this was very frustrating. I understand that mistakes happen, but I expected better communication and respect for my time. During the touch-up, I politely asked if a slightly darker shade could be used. Instead of discussing my concerns, I felt she became defensive and insisted that her original work looked best. Since she is the professional, I trusted her judgment and told her to proceed. When I arrived, she also seemed to be in a bad mood. Before starting my appointment, she spent time cleaning the studio while another client and I sat waiting. During the procedure, I pointed out a few areas that looked lighter and asked if they could be filled in. Rather than listening to my concerns, it felt like she argued with me. At that point, I chose not to continue the discussion because I didn't want any conflict. The most uncomfortable part of my visit happened when, without asking for my permission, she invited another client into the treatment room to look at my eyebrows while explaining her technique and the pigment she used. I felt this was inappropriate and disrespectful of my privacy. I would have appreciated being asked for my consent first. I truly believe she is a talented and skilled microblading artist, and that's why I returned after six years. However, excellent technical skills should be matched by respectful communication, professionalism, punctuality, and consideration for a client's comfort and privacy. Sadly, because of my overall experience, I will not be returning.

I said no and she suggested the set that they are selling for, which I happily agreed to buy. She really made me feel special and pretty. My experience was amazing! Now about the place, it was big enough to accommodate people. It is clean, well-lit and organized. I am not sure if they have a restroom. I did not ask since this is post-lockdown. They have a parking in front and MAYBE in the back (not sure if it is theirs). OVERALL, I am very happy with the result of my hair. I wanted long face framing layers and curtain bangs, while keeping as much length as possible. Unfortunately, none of that was done. The stylist did not give me face framing layers or curtain bangs, and she cut off much more length than I was comfortable with, without checking in with me first. I noticed a lot of hair being cut but trusted the process and gave her the benefit of the doubt, which I now regret. She asked whether I wanted a round or V-shaped cut. I specifically said round, but my hair was cut into a V shape instead. At the end of the appointment, she asked if I wanted my hair styled for an additional $5, which I agreed to. However, once my hair was styled, I couldn't clearly see the issues with the cut. After washing and seeing my hair naturally, it became obvious that the cut was very chunky and uneven. I understand that cutting hair means losing some length, but this felt excessive and completely misaligned with what I requested. I'm especially upset because I really love my hair, and I left feeling unhappy and regretful instead of confident. No one should feel this way after going to the salon.

She listened to exactly what I wanted and told me what levels of blonde were achievable for my hair. She was easy to converse with and was extremely personable. I shared with Stephanie that other previous stylists have taken at least 8-12+ hours to work on my hair during previous appointments (Because previous stylists have worked on multiple clients at the same time as my appointment). Before my appointment, I did let her know how hard sitting for long hours is tough on my chronic back pain. Stephanie mentioned I would be in the chair for at least 6 hours, and as promised, I was in the chair for that long with no other clients being worked on during my appointment. It's important for me to not only have a stylist who can provide great service, but to also have a stylist whose primary focus is me (For example, I've had other stylists leave me in the chair for hours, not even checking on my foils). She was every bit of attentive and I appreciate this so much more than she knows. Stephanie shared that she typically only sees 1-3 clients each day as she wants to be attentive to each client she works on. I know I will be coming back again as it's important for me to feel prioritized during my appointment, instead of me sitting in the chair for hours. The price has increased from $10 in 2018 to $12 then $15 at some point in 2023. Now it's $20 for a simple cut, $25 pretty much after tip which makes it not a good deal anymore compared to other salons.
