Apparently it's legal to smoke in the open here. The beach is kind of a mixture of dirt and sand, more dirt than sand. The shallower parts were clear enough but wade out a little deeper and it's murky. Older reviews talk about the smell there. Well, to be fair it smells marine. Look across the water and you see cattails, so it's a little marshy. So, it has subtle sulfur odor. Went during the week so parking not an issue. Maybe 60 people there total? Oh and my kid got a leech on his ankle. Granted, there's probably leeches in all the lakes in NH.

Lots of fast food restaurants nearby if you are looking to have a picnic or eat in the park. So many benches you relax on and there is a nice 1 mile walking path around the lake. This park has a lot you can do. Soccer and football areas, play structure, fishing - can even launch a boat, small hikes and a pool. Largish parking lot on Taylor street at 27…read more The area by the parking lot has some formal gardens - a Day Lilly garden, hosta garden, butterfly garden, etc. all surrounding a large open field with plenty of shade trees, picnic tables and benches. You see lots of people relaxing, lunching, reading, moms with kids etc in this area. There is also a paved wheelchair accessible trail in this area. The back area is woods complete with streams and a bog. The trail overall is 1-1/2 miles (including the handicap accessible portion). A leisurely 30-40 minute walk.

This park is great for children. It's a mere mile north of downtown Nashua. Follow Main Street…read morenorth and it turns into Concord Street. The park is on both sides of the street. On the left side of the street, there's a wading pool that's clean and well maintained. Just yards/meters away from that is a good playground - slides, swings and a climbing structure. It's fairly shaded, too (the pool area isn't). Just yards away in the other direction is a bathroom building. This is a real bathroom with real running water,not portapotties, has a male and a female section. The rest is a huge open area surrounded on its edges by lots of picnic tables and bbq pits. On the right side of the street, there is an open-air stage. They do Shakespeare in the park and many other events that are all free. They show movies on Friday nights at sundown during the summer. Just prior to the movie, they have some or other kids' entertainer. Beyond that, there are tennis courts and a baseball diamond. This is a place to take the kids.

My daughter loves coming to this park because it's well kept, you can ride scooters and bicycles that have been donated to the park and you just leave it there once you're done using it. The also have a track around the park for runners and people who want to walk with a view. Besides the playgrounds, there are also baseball fields, basketball and tennis courts and everything is in immaculate condition. I don't see any cons at all for this park and like I said it's the best one I've see so far in New Hampshire. If you and your kids are looking for a new park, be sure to give this one a try. It has it all, trust me!

One of our favorite playgrounds for our kiddos(less than 7 years old). There are two separate play…read moreareas(one for younger kids and one for older kids), two types of ziplines(one with a rope and one to just sit in buckled in). Other favorites: swings, tall structure with multiple slides(and slide types) and a large climbing structure. A favorite among many families in the area - I was shocked to not see it on a yelp page. They are working on the field part so unable to kite fly like before but would imagine it would be opening soon. There's a small loop around the field as well for a quick stroll. Plenty of parking to be found and couple of picnic tables throughout including a few under a covered structure. There's also a small business that looks like it has snacks(fairly new but prior to the new owners it was a coffee shop). I only wish they had restrooms but they do have port a potties.

Safe and friendly, very fun and took out all the kids energy. Really recommend even for little ones.read more
