Bartlett's Blueberry Farm - In the field picking, look at all those berries!

This was my first time going here, I went with my boyfriend and his mom. They were so accommodating…read morefor his mom and offered a chair for her to sit at the bushes and pick. She said it was one of the best days she has had in a long time! The blueberries were huge and so yummy! We of course had to try a few at each bush we went to just incase they were not sweet, needless to say they all were amazing! We ended up giving 5 bucks to the jar for those we ate since we felt we ate many! Lol the guys were great with explaining the difference in the different varieties of berry and informed us what rows to use. This place is so big with so many options to choose from. Even though it rained some Sunday it really was the perfect day for us all! We will be back for more believe me.

Ok....so I will start off by saying that I am only giving these people 2 stars because their…read moreberries were HUGE and DELICIOUS, and if the berries were only average, well they would end up with one star. I was visiting my brother and sister in law over the weekend and convinced her to take the kids blueberry picking. I had researched online trying to find the best and most appealing local place for us to go and we decided on Bartlett's. We pulled in and there seemed to be a LOT of cars parked there and a line of people waiting to pay. I remember thinking...this place must be one of the best if its this popular. Boy did I think wrong...where do I begin?? The first word that comes to mind is RUDE. We walked up to get our buckets, and were instructed to go to the area where the netting was open and that someone would be with us shortly to tell us where to go. I found this a bit odd, but whatever. So we walked over...and were greeting by a young man who asked us to hold on while he took care of the people who were in line in front of us. At the same time, a guy pulled up next to us in a white pick up, who was apparently the owner, and told this young man that "baby carriages were not allowed" as he glared at my sister in law. We were pissed. What kind of family establishment is this??? There was a guy in a motorized scooter a few rows back, did he tell him scooters werent allowed?? There was plenty of space through each row for even the largest wheelchair or baby carriage. So finally the young man showed us which "bush" we were allowed to pick from, and if we wanted to move, we needed to ask him first and he would move us somewhere else., but to try and limit our picking to only one bush...also odd...so we were irritated, but started picking. As we picked, we could hear pickup truck guy (the owner) conversing with other customers. Yelling at someone who was apparently not picking from the right bush, someone who was in a "closed" area, and we heard him respond to a woman who was seen eating some blueberries with "thats fine, if you want to take money out of my pocket!" Seriously could you be any more of an A-hole??? I understand that the farm might be his livelyhood, but c'mon, everyone is going to sample. It occured to me that maybe theyre trying to maintain some sort of order, but I dont think yelling at customers is the right way to approach it. After that we decided it was time to go and that these people did not deserve our money. The teenaged girl at the register was nice enough, and cashed us out. 2.63 a pound. Ive had better and cheaper. Not worth the money for being treated so rudely. I will not go back. These people were blueberry picking nazi's and although I tried to figure out why they run things the way they do, there is no excuse for being rude to a paying customer.
