The Danbury Country Store is a great place! It's very convenient, the owners are very nice and so is the staff! They have such a great selection of stuff for a convenience store, they make food (my favorite is the turkey club salad, and when I don't feel like cooking I order a pizza for the family! My Mom loves 'The Merle' sandwich too!) They also have ice cream that they serve as well as in a cooler, and a really cool, nostalgic wall of candy! The gifts are my favorite though, they have a little section of toys and such we refer to as 'The Kid's Corner', then in the back there are tons of really cute gifts, apparel, and things you didn't realize you needed at your home until you see them hanging on the back wall! And in the front behind/near the register, there's even more stuff that you may need quickly and can't get to a large store to buy, the cutest hats/gloves hang over the register and they don't forget about pets-they have treats, toys, leashes etc.! Just when I think I know everything in the store, I end up being surprised because I find more stuff! They even have gift wraps/gift bags/cards in the area with the toys! The only thing I could recommend is the prices to be a bit lower on some of the necessity type stuff (like things you need at home and can't get to a larger store to buy yet but can't go without either) However the prices on their gifts and such are reasonable, and they also take coupons! They also value their customers, they just had the annual anniversary appreciation day with food and gift bags and fun! My family lives here so we use the store almost daily all year long, and it's a wonderful, convenient and typically pleasant place! My last note has nothing to do with the establishment itself, just the customers and that is: it is right near Hippy Hill and there can be adults who have been up there drinking all day or are going to buy alcohol at the store, my daughter went to get something a couple weeks ago and she came home saying she didn't want to go over alone again because some woman was asking her if she could buy her alcohol with my daughters debit card. The employee at the register apparently set her straight, and my daughter is a young teenager so I'm very glad this happened in front of the employee and not somewhere out of another adults notice. No harm was done, I'm very glad I was told about it and it was handled very well by the employee, it's just a note for anyone who is a parent or any children who read this to be aware of. I know they can't discriminate any customers or tell anyone how to behave so I'm noting it here! So definitely visit The Danbury Country Store, it's a wonderful establishment and generally a very pleasant place! They also have a bike rack so if you come visit from riding on the bike trail, and they are handicap accessible with a ramp at both entrances, and they have a porch with tables, a table and chairs inside and at least 1 picnic table outside! They also have air for tires (auto, bike, 4 wheeler etc) and a charging station for electric bicycles! It's a great place for everyone! read more
