we have shopped here every summer, literally you could not find better baked cookies and pies. Having said that we just stopped this past weekend, just opened... very disappointing I'm going to return , hoping the poor quality of pies and cookies returns to its original recipe snd quality and size. I'm happy to pay more , rather then their cutting back. read more

Love having farm fresh produce just around the corner from us. Picnic Rock (formerly Longwood Farms) is a gem featuring fresh, home baked goods prepared in the adjacent farmhouse. Their blueberry pie is a stand out, but then, so are the quiches and oatmeal raisin cookies. If you are local, or even summer local, ask about their CSA produce program. It's a small farm stand between Meredith and Weirs Beach with a surprisingly good variety of fresh vegetables, fruits, baked goods, flowers and more. It's a treat just to admire the beautiful and colorful display of this place. The fresh corn is outstanding- but don't open it to preview it. The staff is warm and welcoming. It's worth the trip to get your produce here and you'll be supporting local farmers at the same time. read more

This is a great roadside farm store, which is family owned and located between Meredith and Weirs Beach on US Route 3. Picnic Rock Farms offers fresh local produce, plants, homemade jams & jellies, jar goods, NH maple syrup products, farm products, hot & cold drinks, and homemade baked goods (pies, cookies, breads, & other treats) on display (wrapped in plastic wrap). I stopped in here recently on the way home and picked up a big Oatmeal Cookie ($1.25), which was firm and not too sweet and a package of 2 Apple Pastry ($3.25), which had sweet apple cinnamon filling between sheets of soft puff pastry layers. These bakery items were great with my large coffee the next morning at work. read more

This family-owned farmstand is the real deal. Joanna Gaines would lose her mind over the hand-painted farm signs and $3 bouquets of flowers in mason jars, farmhouse tables mounded with fresh-baked pies, baskets of cookies and cinnamon-sprinkled apple cider donuts, blocks of organic soap, and fruits and veggies so fresh, you might have to wipe off beads of dew. You can meet the chickens who lay your eggs, though I declined to meet the fellows that made the best pork chops I've had in years. Best of all, the prices are very affordable and they take credit cards. For the tastiest $10 lunch you'll have all summer, I recommend buying some of their ugly/seconds tomatoes (the best for $2/lb anywhere around), a cucumber, an onion, a bell pepper, and one of their cherry bomb chile peppers. Whirl it all together in a blender with a little EVOO and vinegar, then chill for an hour. Eat the gazpacho with fresh corn on the cob and some of their cheddar beer bread, toasted and slathered in butter. You can thank me later, I'll wait. read more

As a restaurant owner in Meredith I am impressed with the freshness and quality of everything. The salads are fresh and taste great . The owner told my wife to try the trumpet mushrooms and sautee them with onions and butter , which I just did ! Amazing . And it goes great with pizza as a topping ! We stopped by Picnic Rock Farms over the summer and fell in love with all of their desserts, especially the maple twists. We loved them so much that we ended up having them as the dessert at our wedding welcome party and they were a huge hit. Ginny and her staff were so friendly and super easy to work with. This is a dying breed, the archetypical New England family owned farm stand, on steroids! It's been in the same family for 8 generations. They harvest all kinds of local produce, as well as selling local maple syrup, jams, jellies, amazing homemade pies, etc. CSA shares to feed your weekly vegetable habit too. You can also find them at Laconia Farmer's Market on Thursdays or at the New Hampton Farmer's Market on Monday. Wonderful destination, manned by a wonderful local New Hampshire family. Well run, by a local farmer and his wife. The locally grown vegetables and fruit are nicely displayed and easy to find. There are jams and jellies and locally made bread, cookies, cakes and pies. This is a must place to visit when you are in the area, to buy your summer and fall produce! read more

Amazing little family owned shop, the family WORKS in the fields each day and runs the register too. These are the types of places out of towners and locals LOVE to visit all day long. They are friendly, inexpensive and pick the herbs from the garden fresh when you ask for them. The bakery items are great, baked literally in the house next door and walked over, if you come early and (sometimes later) the baked goods are still warm. They have tasting events and always recommend the best products. They are honest and hardworking which are two traits that are all too rare in this day and age. Can't recommend them enough. The only regret I have is not finding them sooner ! read more

This place is not bad for something you'd stop to see once. Honestly there is the same kind of place in every town, so nothing special. What is different is the absolute ignorance of the owners. A friend of mine delivered milk there once a week. He recently got hospitalized with a heart condition and is now looking at open heart surgery. A week after hearing this the processing plant where he brings his milk got struck by lightening and went offline til parts could get in. The owners of Picnic Rock were informed about both issues and told deliveries would not be consistent for awhile. Right here I'll tell you, her orders are not consistent either. However, her response was that she didn't care about his personal issues. I knew from personal experience this woman was a cantankerous old you know what but after hearing that she didn't care about a heart condition. WOW! Do yourself a favor and move on. There are nicer places with much nicer people down the road that do deserve your business. For people looking for his milk, Case and Keg up the road and Hannaford in Meredith carry it. this is the realest food you will find in new hampshire. everything is healthy and fresh and DELICIOUS. all the produce is magnificent and healthy and beautiful. if you go, make sure to choose some snacking veggies and hummus and you will not be disappointed. the staff is so outgoing and helpful and personally, i think the whole establishment is underrated. the quality of the food and produce is impeccable and this is any healthy foodies dream! read more

I stopped here to get some fruit and vegetables on the way home from my vacation and everything was exceptional. I think I got tomatoes, cucumbers, garlic, apples and their made preserves. They even had normal sized cucumbers that actually tasted good and did not mold the next day like the supermarket 'persian' ones whatever that means do. I decided I had to write this review after I went apple picking today and the produce at the nameless farm was terrible. Totally watery and tasteless tomatoes and dried out peaches. read more
