Proceed with caution, went and got a second opinion of my dental work (as I was starting to become suspicious of the work he kept saying I needed) and it ended up being a stain (as I suspected). After 15 years here, I've had only 3 dental hygienists as they have a lot of loyalty to Dr. Kim. My new one is Catherine and she is so gentle and caring. She takes time to explain the procedure and does her best to make sure you're comfortable and has great communication skills. If you're at all nervous you should ask for her! Dr. Kim, as always is thorough, top notch and is patient and kind. He helped me with getting my teeth and gums healthy and is very attentive to your questions and concerns. I just switched dentists over to this place and I'm so glad I did! I have the most thorough and yet most gentle dental cleaning I've ever had. I also think I had the most thorough dental Xrays and intra-oral pictures taken during my first visit. The dental assistant also made me feel really secure about my future little one going there and their practices to make sure little kids get desensitized first so they have good experiences at the dentist! I've had x-rays, an exam and a small cavity filled so far at Beavercreek Dental. Dr. Gaunt and the couple of assistants I've met were very friendly, professional and caring. She showed me the small cavity on the computer screen after they took x-rays/pictures, which helped me trust her. She did a good job with filling the cavity and she explained what she was about to do before she did it. I also didn't need any anesthetic since it was such a small cavity and she gave me the option to not receive any, which was very considerate of her. The only negative thing I've experienced thus far at Beavercreek Dental is receiving text messages both within a couple of hours of the scheduled appointments in which they were trying to get me to come in earlier. The first time I said no and they respected that. The second time they didn't wait for a response and went ahead and re-scheduled the appointment. It was originally at 3:10pm, the receptionist texted me at around noon asking to change the appointment to 2:40pm, by the time I looked at my phone at around 1:00pm there was an automated text message stating the new scheduled appointment that I had not agreed to. How is it okay for them to change the appointment without asking a few hours beforehand? The appointment was made a month in advance and, as a patient, if I need to cancel or reschedule an appointment I need to call them at least 24 hours ahead of time. So that was very unprofessional of them, to say the least, and when I texted the receptionist back to ask if I could keep my original appointment time because I might not be able to make it by 2:40pm she said that the dentist will still be able to see me at 2:50pm. Umm, my appointment was supposed to be at 3:10pm, not 2:40 or 2:50. Anyway, I don't dislike them because of this tendency of theirs due to them excelling in other ways, but I will be mindful with any future appointments I make that I'll most likely be required to go in a little earlier than scheduled. read more

My recent visit to Beavercreek Dental was for teeth cleaning which I have every 6 months. I had a new hygenist named Kim. She was very good. She was very friendly but also very professional. He work was steady but not unpleasant. Showed me the x-rays and pointed out details which I found helpful. The staff was really FRIENDLY. I been going to Dr Kim for quite a while and like him as my dentist. The service has always been top notched. Would recommend them to anyone looking for a dentist. read more

I do not recommend this office. The front desk staff is unhelpful and unpleasant. I had an appointment scheduled for a regular cleaning, they called because they needed to reschedule due to an office-wide training day. Everything was fine with BD until I had an accident that required extensive work. They worked with me fine, especially around my work travel schedule. However, the end result was awful. First of all, they refused to work with Workman's Comp and made me pre-pay the $4,000. Turns out they were not supposed to do this, but bill workman's comp direct. They refused. It wasn't until the state became involved and forced them too. Keep in mind that I stayed very congenial throughout all this. Next, the final result of my two front teeth is awful. The color was so off and they are too large looking in my mouth, and they told me that I would be guaranteed to be happy. Dr. Kim was not clear with me at the time when they were placing it in my mouth. I had on dark glasses and could barely see. He should have made SURE that I was happy but he just rushed me. I was in tears when I got home. A few days later I called them and was told it was too late. I was so upset that I didn't go back to the dentist for a year. And guess what, they never even called me to schedule a cleaning. I guess that they decided to break up with me. Which was fine because I would never go back. My new dentist has agreed with me on the work, and has worked with me to try to make things look better. read more

I have been a client at Beavercreek since 2006. I moved away for a few years and when I returned they would not accept x-rays I had from the other dentist in the other town. THEY WOULD NOT EVEN CLEAN MY TEETH because I wouldn't get new x-rays. I have two health conditions that make x-rays risky for me. I asked to please speak to the dentist, and even after being a client for 17 years - he couldn't take 5 minutes or less to have a conversation with me. The new office manager is incredibly rude and I really have no idea if my messages were even given to him. I found a new dentist that listened to me and understood my situation and worked with me. I recently underwent a surgical procedure for a broken molar, with Dr. Kim. Everyone hates getting shots in the mouth, especially in the top of the mouth, so I wasn't looking forward to this at all! Dr. Kim did an amazing job with the numbing, giving a little to start then finishing with the big push once I was numb. I don't know why I was worried! The whole procedure went smoothly and he followed it up with another shot to lessen any pain. I'm so glad I chose Dr. Kim and Beavercreek Dental, I highly recommend them!! read more

Two previous dentists I'd gone to missed or ignored them. After several visits I can say emphatically that Dr Kim and his staff work as a well oiled machine. Fast, friendly and efficient. I am a new patient at Beavercreek Dental. I recently broke up with my previous dental office (after only 3 appointments). Getting the courage to find/try a new dentist took me a while. I went in today for my 6 month cleaning (which was 1 yr+ overdue). I always have anxiety, prior to dental visits. That is why I am VERY happy that Amanda is my dental hygienist. She has such a gentle voice, and caring attitude. She put me at ease before I sat in the chair. Originally, I was to have my check-up and cleaning done at my first visit. Instead of rushing to get everything done (possibly compromising quality for time) Amanda suggested coming back. Given my past experiences, I greatly appreciated that. By chance I found Beavercreek Dental when I was desperately looking for a dentist who could see my 93-year-old mom for a dental emergency. Not only was I able to get her in within just a few days, they were able to get her caught up on her dental health with the maximum comfort and reasonable cost, without extra unnecessary work. Due to her age and frailty, they proposed just keeping an eye on a small cavity that would involve disruptive and expensive work. I'm very pleased that Dr. Kim is placing a high priority on my mom's comfort. Also, the dental hygienist, Jill, has been really awesome in formulating a home care plan that works for the staff at my mom's assisted living situation, while balancing what is and is not likely to happen in her daily teeth care. This email that I sent to this dental clinic should provide a clear picture of our experience. I will update this review should we receive a response: ====================================================== Hello M, I have received your messages the last few days and I apologize for taking so long to get back to you. Neither E nor I will be returning to Beavercreek Dental - for a few reasons. First and foremost, please allow me to explain that E and I expect (and deserve) excellent customer service wherever we choose to spend our money. In this case, we made an appointment at your clinic based on a recommendation from current patients of yours. The office is beautiful and the hygienists were absolutely wonderful. Unfortunately, that is all that we have to say that was good. At the time of my visit, I did not have dental insurance. There were some cavities that were found during my cleaning and when I inquired about a discount for no insurance I was told that the most I could get was 3%. To be perfectly honest, that is a slap in the face. Most dentists, including the one that I ended up going to, offer at least 20% off to patients without insurance. I was even more offended when I brought E's bill to your attention (more on that in a moment) and you offered to discount out the remaining balance - which would have been more than 3%. To begin with, when I called to schedule our initial appointments I explained that E has severe anxiety and does not do well at the dentist. I attempted to get a prescription for him in order for him to be as relaxed as possible. I was told that he could not be given a prescription unless the dentist saw him first. I really feel like I was treated as a drug-seeker when, in reality, I was simply trying to make the visit as comfortable for E as possible. Since your ads specifically speak to making patients comfortable I figured we were selecting the right place for us. I'm sure that each of you have someone in your life who is special and important to you and you would hate to see them in distress and discomfort. After E made it through the first appointment (a cleaning), he did come back for some fillings. That time, he was given the medication to ease the anxiety and he did okay. However, I wasn't sure if he was doing alright as he had been there for nearly two hours. When I inquired about how he was doing I was told "Oh, I'm sure he's fine" rather than simply walking back to where he was, checking (or even pretending to check) and letting me know how he was. Also while waiting for E in the waiting room, I heard very clearly all about how Trina's (sp?) husband thinks she is fat and is pushing her to go on a diet and he is telling his family that she is going to lose weight. This is not acceptable conversation for a dental office atmosphere where patients can see and hear you. In addition to that, I heard employees talking negatively about other patients - most specifically after the patient would call, the receptionists would comment on how that person was and how they were mean, rude, etc. Again, that is unacceptable when there are other patients around. Once E was finished (and still under the influence of the sedatives), he was told that he needed to pay $300 up front because that is what "the computer said he would owe" after insurance paid their portion. However, upon comparing that quote to what actually took place, we found that was incorrect and when I called and asked about it, I was told that we would receive a statement in the mail (which we never did) explaining how the funds were applied and what insurance paid, etc. We feel like he was taken advantage of by even being asked to pay a penny when he was not able to even think clearly. When it was brought to your attention, we feel like it was swept under the rug. While these instances may not seem like a big deal to you, they are a big deal to us. We spend money on services that are important to us and at places that treat us well. Unfortunately, this was not Beavercreek Dental. We believe it would be unfair to simply walk away and not explain our decision because without this feedback you would not be able to make corrections for the benefit of your other patients. Loved the dental hygienist. For her and the front desk folks, I would give 5 stars plus. The dentist, I would not recommend based on my one and only visit with him. His halitosis and recommendation for 6 month smiles were not appreciated. The first dentist visited in 42 years that recommends braces (this would be approximately 84 lifetime visits since I go each 6 months). The quest continues. Update. Although I have not returned to this dental office, I have upgraded this review. Another dentist also recommended braces so off to an orthodontist I went for a 3rd opinion. Who knew that teeth shifted as you age? Well, apparently I'm a tooth grinder so in an effort to avoid root canals in my future, Invisalign was my best option. The orthodontist price was the same as the quote given from each of the 2 dentists and he has several years more training and experience. read more

I have always disliked going to the dentist because I have always had bad experiences. However I came here a couple years ago after having a bad tooth ache. I needed to see someone right away. I remembered them after seeing their flyers in mail and called to see if they could fit me in. I was able to see them right before they closed. They informed me that I'd need a root canal, and while they weren't able to do it that moment, they did whatever they could to ease the pain until I was able to come back in. Whatever they did worked and DR. Kim even called me later that evening to follow up with my pain, which was awesome. The root canal went well and I had no anxiety like I usually do when visiting a dentist. I have never had a bad experience here and I actually look forward to my 6 month visits!!
