After a prompt initial phone call, John M. met me at my building, perfectly prepared to answer all my questions and he'd very obviously paid attention to my specific concerns from when we spoke (about being a messy tear-off in a tight, highly visible lot.) Worth noting, as a single woman business owner - John's candor and professionalism were greatly appreciated. He met / exceeded every promise on price, workmanship and completion date (which was not an easy goal to meet, but he got it done!) The process could not have been easier for me. And despite the fact CAB was by far the most equipped + experienced company I spoke to - they also came in with the lowest price. I recommend CAB Construction to anyone for roofing. He said he would get me estimate right away and be able to put gutters on in the next week. Well, no estimate came and after 3 phone calls and emails asking for it... the week came and went. Not only did he waste my time chatting with me, he never bothered to get me an estimate or show up to do any work. I never heard from him again and had to call someone else to schedule the job. Based on my experience I can't recommend their services, not sure how the work would have turned out anyways, if they don't care enough to treat you right to earn your business, I can't imagine the work being any good.

When we wanted a little work done on our new house, our realtor recommended Larry (the L of L & S…read more-- S being for his wife). And boy, am I glad we listened to her, because Larry is a real find! He was happy to come out to the house even before we closed on it to look at the kitchen and discuss what we wanted done, and all his quotes have been bang-on -- if he says it'll be $107, it'll be $107. Larry did a great job making room in the kitchen for a dishwasher, taking apart an existing cabinet and creating a new one out of those materials. If I didn't know what he did, I'd never guess. He also installed and ran the necessary lines for our new appliances, including our weird cooking sink, which works great. Larry put up a nice privacy fence in the yard, including an interior access-only gate, which frankly, is just what we needed, and quite clever. Everything he does, he does right -- a simple job of replacing our bathroom fan with a model that includes a light became a little more complicated when he discovered that the fan hadn't been vented properly to the attic. But no problem, for just the cost of the additional materials needed, he took care of that. So if you need any kind of carpentry, kitchen, or general handyman work done, I can't recommend Larry highly enough. He's been great, and we'll definitely be calling him for more work!

As a general contractor with over 20 years in business, I was not impressed with their work. They ripped out whatever was in their way and left a mess that had to be fixed/covered up. In one instance, they only needed a couple inches and they could have installed the duct behind a closet wall/bi-fold door but instead they busted up the trim and tore out framing to do their install directly in the way of the door. I understand that the owner who was selling the house probably didn't care - they likely just wanted the "cheapest" thing done to get the sale, but it showed a distinct lack of foresight AND a lack of respect for the new owners (my sister, brother-in-law and their kids). It really isn't THAT much more difficult to CARE about one's work! Based on that, I cannot recommend them.
