Unfortunately, my experience here was not as pleasurable as some of the reviews I have seen. First, I am not a contractor. I am a handy homeowner who's knows his way around many areas of construction. My experience with the lady at the counter was anything but a pleasant one. I guess the fact that I was dress in office work clothes she assumed I had no idea what I was speaking about. She was short and condescending. I was challenged on trade terminology. When I asked to confirm how many "boards" I ordered, she gave me the number of "studs". I am sorry "boards, not "studs". Her response was and I quote " a 2x4 is a board. It is a piece of wood, so it is a board". I asked her what do you call a 4 x 8 piece of sheetrock. Really? This is your challenging response at 8am. I do everything to support the few small local businesses eft. It's unappreciative attitudes like this that make it hard. Maybe I should have walked across the street to the big store. All that said I is a really nice store. Clean and well maintained. Customer service needs to be better. read more

I remodeled my house a few years ago and had to decide whether to use the big chain across the street... Or Beckerle lumber who have been there for decades. As price was an issue I did my research. When all was said and done Beckerle was iby far the wiser choice. The Big chain across the street was completely useless. Nobody knew what they were doing and nobody even wanted to help me. The guys at berckerle we're amazing, professional, and so helpful they probably saved me thousands of dollars with their knowledge. They saved me from making countless mistakes and we're always there for advice when I needed it. They went above and beyond to make sure my project was completed on time and on budget. If you're doing work, do not waste your time going for discount products and service. Go to the professionals. Trust me they are the best. I will never go any where else. read more

They are so helpful just naturally. I am not a person who is handy. They were patient and kind to me. I needed to find some lumber and have it trimmed. Three other "lumber stores" could not do it. One was kind enough to send me to Beckerle. Went there to find a piece of plywood to shore up a cabinet bottom. Was greeted by a man (I believe his name was Delby-he was from another Beckerle location). He found what I needed, cut it the way I needed. Well, I had the wrong dimensions. I needed the piece trimmed. I went back and once again they were kind and patient. Sent me down to the proper area and young man did it quickly and cleanly. Thank YOU! read more

I needed Trex decking and cable rail to redo my deck and railing, and despite my not knowing exactly how I was going to do this they were patient and informative, and in the end the deck and rails turned out great. They have so much more knowledge than you will get at a Home Depot or Lowes, and they help you get past any stuck points in a project. read more
