Should be able to give negative stars. This place is a nightmare come true. I went in voluntarily for anxiety, depression, and PTSD. BS won't treat you, you will be subjected to violent people in the Meadows unit. If you have a medical need to go to a medical center, they'll still keep you. I had 2 strokes in 3 days right after I was released on day 7. Dr never would answer when I'd go home and even if you sign yourself out, you are really signing back in for another 72 hours. This is my experience and opinion. Your experience may be different. However if you check reviews on all sites , you will see a pattern of poor reviews and experiences from many who have been there. The only reason for posting here is so that others may put careful thought into the selection of a mental health service provider. This place is understaffed, employ rude, disrespectful and unprofessional individuals. They are quick to take you in, but it doesnt take long to figure out that they try their best to milk whatever the financial resources are that you have. NOBODY THERE returns calls or messages, no matter the urgency. Psychiatrists only have a couple minutes to spare, if you can even get on their schedule once a week. As i stated before, your visit might vary. Mine was a total waste of time and money and put a person with mental health issues at risk of harming themself or others due to them delaying discharge records (on purpose IMHO) as other providers wont work with you if you were in a prior program without formal discharge papers. 5 days is way too long to wait, they should have them the day of discharge,. The only positive from my time there was interacting with others in attendance. It reassured me that i needed to get mental health help so i didnt end up like them. Dr. Rahmen and Dr. Kaneria are a complete disgrace to their profession they will only meet with the patient for 2 min and just go straight to medication AND NOT TELL YOU WHAT THEY ARE PRESCRIBING OR LOOK TO SEE IF THE SIDE EFFECTS WILL MAKE YOU WORSE. they do not care about the patients getting better THEY ONLY CARE IF YOU HAVE GOOD INSURANCE, THEY WILL KEEP YOU FOR A LONGER PERIOD OF TIME. the therapists will meet with you for an hour and a half in a group setting and talk 80% of it going off topic and not care to make time with you to talk about your treatment plan or how to help you WHEN THAT IS WHAT THEY ARE SUPPOSED TO DO. you have to track them down and it's frustrating because if you need anything done they are the ones who "handle" everything. therapist frank, doug, and scott need to do better as therapists!!!!! i was admitted here recently and saw A LOT of unprofessional AND hippa violation events pretty much every day by the nurses. nurse frank, chika, and abby ESPECIALLY abby are a few who need to be trained again on now to do their job. read more

If you love and care about yourself and want to get better, Do not attend this facility! They are understaffed and do not tell you. I was trying to keep an open mind. I went to this facility to get the care I need to improve my mental health. At first I had hope and was really wanted this to work. I have been wanting to participate in some intensive mental health therapy for years and just not have had the time to do so. I had some time finally this year and the band with to go for more intensive daily treatment. I am finding that I am having to apologize to myself for participating in this treatment facility. I am so glad that I did not have to go into inpatient. Beckett Springs is not a caring facility. I just got off the phone this morning to tell them that I was not attending my group sessions today. The person I talked to was very kind, however I had to speak my truth about this facility to her. She asked me if I was informed that they were understaffed for counselors before I signed up for Outpatient Partial Hospitalization Program. I told her that I was not, and that I was told very little about the program to begin with. I feel like that due to my vulnerable mental health at the time of seeking treatment that I was taken advantage of. I was not informed until the second day of treatment that they did not have the appropriate amount of staffing to run the groups and that they were working on it. The lack of staffing tells me that Beckett Springs is not offering enough pay for the jobs that are not filled. This leads me to believe that the owners of the facility do not have the best interest of the vulnerable population that needs these services. If the facility was paying it staff decent wages, then there would not be a staffing issue. I will be calling the Ohio mental health board to find a better facility and to express my concerns about this facility. I am glad that I have the ability to see this for myself and am still able to advocate for myself. I will make sure that I now advocate for the other patients that I met in the facility that are also there to improve their lives and do not realize that Beckett Springs in not a well run treatment facility. I will again repeat, if you love yourself and care about yourself do not sign up for their treatments. In my opinion, Beckett Springs is not a safe place for anyone. It might have been a great place years ago when it was first recommended to me, but I would not recommend it now. The groups I attended were barely better than watching a Dr. Phil episode. We were only given handouts and You Tube videos to watch. This is not scientific backed treatment. If I could leave a no star I would. The only positive I have from there are a few employees. This is a dual treatment center and the very first group I went to I was shut down and told my story was too triggering and it was related to one of the issues this center is supposed to specialize in. If you go in voluntary don't think you will get out when you want. Once you ask to leave they put a 3 day hold on you. They place patients on units they should not be on exposing them to patients they should not have to deal with. Patients there all talk about their next fix to If you think you won't be triggered think again. They pink slip people and threaten them with probate court when they don't take their meds or comply. So there is always a risk they will take guardianship over you. I witnessed a female being brought in against her will. She was not loud or aggressive but within 30 minutes of her arriving they shot her with haldol and lied about her behavior. She tried to call 911 to speak with an officer but they hung up the phone and then when 911 called back they refused to let the officer speak to her. Dont think you will get help that way. Truly scary to think someone can say you said something and get you sent there and then you are stuck. This girl wasn't even allowed off the unit. They strip you of so much even if you bring yourself there for help The food is better in prison then what you get here. You can smoke but they can take that right from you anytime they want. If you come in on certain meds that you rely on you may not get them right away...leaving you sick and miserable. Saw a guy go days miserable!! I never saw a counselor until I signed my discharge papers. The staff put me in danger with another patient and then left him on the same unit as me and did not care that it affected my stay there. They lied to me on the phone before I got there telling me they could help me with each of my issues and then when I got there it was a different story. It took 3 days to get meds to help with my issue. I came in with my own meds like they asked and I was still not given two of my doses leaving me In pain. How does a treatment center LOSE 6 viles of methadone??? They lost a patients meds. I left $20 shorted than when I got there. The nurses and pca sit at the desk and talk about patients and their job in a very negative way. I reached out to the patient advocate on the grievance paper and also spoke briefly with the CEO.....NOTHING was resolved!!!! I left there with no future provider!!!!! I had to seek that out on my own once I left. Each time I asked for help with my issue I was told they really didn't know. I left there feeling way worse than when I got there. If I could give this facility zero stars it wouldn't be low enough. My sister died under their care. She went in for opioid addiction and they over medicated her. Before they told us my sister passed away they had lawyers waiting for us. No explanation no nothing. My sister had bruises all over like she had been in a fight. She went in on May 10th, 2021 and was gone before the 20th. I read her journals...you could tell when they "dosed" her. Her writing went down the page and didn't make much sense. No one checked on her. They lied about taking her vitals. Her records speak volumes. I wouldn't take a dog to this facility. The sad part is no one cares when an addict passes away. I do not say this lightly, please DO NOT GO HERE or send your loved one here. The facility is unethical, dangerous, unsanitary, the doctors over medicate so much it's beyond concerning. There is so much more wrong at Becket Springs than what I'm writing here. Trigger warning. A nurse, Malik T., told me my depression and other symptoms were a personal problem. That same male nurse, was caught staring at me inappropriately and fell asleep while on the job. Shavon, a patient care assistant, called me a mother f***er when I was doing yoga. She and Kenisha, also a PCA, openly mocked me for singing after 2 other patients requested it. The PCAs demanded me not exercise while outside and cursed at me for doing so. Heather, a nurse, said me eating a food I have a minor allergy to was self harm when the kitchen staff KEPT giving me food I was allergic to. I lost approximately 5lbs because I DEMANDED food and ate what I could. The kitchen staff is dangerously unaware of what is in their food. They tried to refuse to give me topical medications and tried being in the room when I needed to apply or insert medications, which is far past medical boundaries. The number of medications, pills specifically, pushed is absolutely criminal. Two male patients sexually harassed me and I was roomed next to someone who had related mental health issues where female patients near him were not safe. Nothing was done about this. The maintenance supervisor, LaSaun, sexually harasses the patients and female staff as well. Please do not send your teens or young adult children here. The staff attempted to barricade me inside of the outpatient facility WHICH IS FALSE IMPRISONMENT. I have a B.S. in Exercise Physiology with a concentration in pre-medical studies, minors in biology, chemistry, psychology and a research certificate in psychiatric genetics from Virginia Commonwealth University. I have a Master of Health Services Administration from Xavier University. I know healthcare law incredibly well. Although not verbatim, I told them the laws they were breaking. I know my rights and I was willing to take legal action. They called my "therapist" Kaci/Casey and she agreed and said I was right, so did the out patient front desk staff member. Had my child there for a few weeks and they made are situation worse they are not equip to handle his type of condition and they should have told us this before accepting him in to partial hospitalization program. when he was getting angry he asked for help and meds and they refused to give it to him. we asked for them to review meds and they try to prescribe him meds at such high dosages the pharmist had issues with it and stopped it. They care only about the money.... that is the story I have heard over and over again from respondents... My son recently came to this place to look into receiving alternative mental health treatments because he felt like medication wasn't working, but ended up being placed in a 72 hour hold with no explanation- not even being told it was a 72 hour hold until i informed him over a phone call. the assessor who did my son's assessment(alone with no one else in the room during the assessment) exaggerated my son's non-commital suicidal thoughts as an actual plan and then pressured him into signing himself in while a woman calling herself the quality director lied to me about sitting in on the assessment. My son during his stay refused to eat or come out of his room because he was afraid of giving the staff any just cause to hold him there and during his stay he met with the psychiatrist and therapist a total of 4 times over the entire 72 hours and and 3 of the times was talking to the psychiatrist for less than 5 minutes and the one time he talked to a therapist was to sign discharge papers. anyone reading this...stay away from this place, the stories of the staff looking for an opportunity to hold you for inpatient to charge your insurance is true. read more

Contacted Beckett Springs in January to try to get treatment for alcohol addiction. They said I was a candidate for intensive outpatient therapy and could attend their Dayton location. When I tried to sign up they said there was a wait list and it would be a couple weeks before they had any openings. Yesterday (approximately FIVE months after my assessment) they contacted me to say the program in Dayton wasn't going to be available at all. Based on this limited contact, all I can say is I'm really glad I never became involved with them or their program. read more

This place does NOT want you to get better. They only want to make money, and it's obvious at every level of care. It started when I was encouraged into going in to "learn about the programs" in a very normal setting, but then as I told them the full extent of my depression which included suicidal ideation (but not plans) I realized that they tricked me into involuntarily staying there and my life was about to get a *whole* lot worse. But maybe it was fine because there was individual therapy there right? No. Absolutely none. The only thing close to therapy is a group session where you check in and no matter how badly you need help the therapist just smiles and nods. They don't even put all the mental health patients together, I was one of the only ones in a mostly substance abuse program, so I had trouble relating to everyone else. You never get any real help, the whole place is just a giant waiting room for the psychiatrist who only sees you for a few minutes a day, barely cares about your situation, and prescribes everyone the same medication no matter what, but you have to beg constantly to let you leave. I should also mention that if you're stuck there involuntarily or ever sign out they place you on a 72-hour hold (business days btw, for weekends you're out of luck), and they LIE to you about what happens afterwards. They say it doesn't matter anyways because they'll file for probate at the end of the period and you'll probably be out before the court hearing anyways. That's completely wrong... I learned later that they rarely ever do this. So that's another waste of 5 days because they straight up lied to me. They keep everyone way longer than they should and the only reason anyone gets "better" here is you practically have to pretend you get better or they'll never let you go. I was kept an extra 3 days after I met all my treatment goals just to try a new ADHD medication. A completely non essential purpose. Have I mentioned they don't value your time one bit? Now onto the outpatient partial hospitalization program, which I told them I would go to only so I wasn't stuck for another week. A complete waste of time and every minute was excruciatingly boring. The "therapists" only read off a paper the whole time of really basic information. Any actual input from the patients was met with, you guessed it, a smile and nod and no actual therapy. My depression actually got worse during this time because I was forced into such an upsetting, non-helpful environment. Oh yeah and they kept me several days longer than they said they would... Outpatient psychiatry: I really should've left the hospital altogether at this point, but here I still was, going in to see Dr. Rahman. As time went on it became painfully obvious he doesn't care about helping you improve. I would go in and talk about how my meds are doing nothing for me and all he'd do is slightly increase the dose. He won't ever refer treatments that actually do something different like ketamine, and I wouldn't dare mention any suicidal ideation in these appointments in case they try to trap me here again. Bottom line: Run. Very far away. Go to the Lindner Center, or literally anywhere else. This is the worst mental health facility I've ever had the displeasure of dealing with, and I've dealt with a lot. They do NOT care about helping you one bit. read more

Only go here if you really need to and cannot find another place to go. My experience was horrible, but they did keep me safe from myself. That being said the staff were very irritable, unfriendly, and poorly trained. They overact very poorly to any sign of trouble in a patient. Often they triggered me and made me feel significantly worse. I was not the only one who had this issue while I was there. There is also a distinct lack of programming during the day. Long periods of nothingness are not good for people who are suffering and they would often cancel many of the good activities because they didn't feel like doing them. Lastly, they violated at least 3 of my patients' rights and refused to provide me with a patient rights advocate for a whole day because it was the weekend and they were too lazy to come up with one, even though they are legally required to. When I finally got one she was helpful in getting me released from treatment, but after I was out she ignored all of the rights violations and complaints that I lodged. TLDR; Don't go there, there are much better alternatives. read more

Absolutely avoid at ALL costs. I had gallstones and they refused to take me to the hospital telling me to "keep it down" while I was screaming in pain. They waited 5 hours before they took me to the hospital because they thought I was faking it for pain meds when I'm not there/have never dealt with substance abuse??? Ended up having surgery to have my appendix taken out... Only to have the nurse Nicola steal my paperwork saying "I cant have it" ??? Completely unethical and just straight up wrong for the nurses, specifically Nicola, not caring about my pain. read more

READ THIS BEFORE YOU GO HERE Before insurance you will be paying $1,500 A DAY to SIT AND WATCH TV FOR 5-7 HOURS A DAY. No joke every day I added up the times on the schedule and this is what you're paying for. Only 3-4 hours a day are spent in "therapy groups" where you and some others listen and talk about a topic. Wanna know what we did for 45 minutes in "health and wellness?" We played a game where the guy showed us pictures of food, and we guessed what they were....absolutely ridiculous. Healthy eating and exercise are a HUGE part of being mentally healthy and this person thought it was a good idea to not go over any of that and instead play some USELESS GAME. The food in the cafeteria is disgusting and bland, and not healthy. The full four days I was there I talked to my therapist and the doctor maybe a total of 10 minutes. You do not get any ONE ON ONE therapy sessions. You do not even have the curtesy of being told what medications you're being put on by the doctor. Dr. Rahman just shoos you out of the room after asking you 5 questions and puts you on some meds to "fix the problem." This place just drugs you up and tries to keep you there as long as possible. I was in the meadows unit. On the schedule when it would say "fitness" we literally did nothing but watch tv. When "journaling" was on the schedule, we also did nothing but watch tv. We were not given notebooks to journal in. We never exercised once. What we did mostly, was watch tv and movies. Cannot believe this place charges this much or is even still running for that matter. Oh, and when a fellow patient GRABBED A WOMANS ASS, the night shift did NOTHING. She did not sleep at all that night because she feared for her safety. I was told we would be receiving a psychiatrist appointment when I already have trauma from being forced into inptient care in the past (which turned out horribly), and my falsely advertised appointment turned into an assessment to BE FORCED INTO INPATIENT CARE! I was FORCED to be analyzed for over an hour and had to pled that this was not what we came there for so I could just go home. This is one of the most unprofessional hospitals I've ever encountered. My son had a breakdown and struggles also with addiction. He was transferred here from Blue Ridge Vista for care. Because they do not accept disability state insurance, we paid $25,000 for his month long stay here. He then went to intensive outpatient and then outpatient. During his time there, we dealt with many unprofessional people. They do NOT belong in mental health. I myself work as a nurse and have worked for UC Health and Cinci Childrens. I've never encountered this kind of behavior. My son also struggles with an eating disorder, mult drug addictions, autism, and bipolar. He knew he needed to be there. The intensive outpatient we dealt with the therapist, Holly. She gave family meetings so we could all be on the same terms and she was lovely. She returned all my calls and answered my concerns. She helped my son a lot and he liked her. I got Butler county Disability involved with my son as well as Butler county wraparound services. Wraparound tried calling his therapist in Outpatient who's name was Gretchen multiple times and left multiple messages so she could get involved in the care of Drew to help him succeed in his mental health. She never returned my calls or their calls. When I speak to her, she holds the phone away from her face and speaks to other people while on the phone with me, she acts as though she doesn't want to be there and I honestly don't feel she should be. She is completely unprofessional and there's no way a licensed therapist. The doctor who works for Beckett Springs is not their full time doctor. He is what we call in the medical field a "come and go" doctor. His name is Dr Alshami. This means he is paid to just come do rounds and hand out meds that may not work the same for everyone. When I took my son to his new psychiatrist, she was appalled at all the medication they had my son on at the same time! Bottom line, if you or anyone is looking to get professional, quality mental/addiction care, take yourself to Lindner in Mason or somewhere else that has better reputations for kindness and caring. This place discharged my Son with all of his issues and he was begging them not to. He said he wasn't ready. Gretchen told me it was because he went on vacation. He missed 3 days last week and we told them months in advance and a week before as well and they stated it was ok. He missed only one other day due to having an illness and because of the pandemic, we decided not to send him. They were looking for a way to discharge him. For outpatient, his disability insurance pays for it. So they aren't getting paid the $25,000 cash that we paid them for the 30 days of his inpatient. Beckett Springs is not the place to go for quality care. I am a medical professional as well and these people are only here because they have to be. They hire bottom of the barrel people here. Dr "R" was great. He made me extremely mad on one visit and just mad on others but we conversed and worked everything out. Now on my own and trying new ways of doing the same but even better. I am seeing how to be Angry and show it and without hurting others but freely being me even when I am not happy. Now, I am doing Great!!! Yes!!! Unfortunately 0 stars is not an option. Beckett springs is currently holding my daughter against her will. She signed AMA paper friday evening 1 hr after being intaked due to feeling unsafe and very uncomfortable. Was told Saturday she was placed on a 72 hr hold because she signed AMA papers and had to see her Dr. Which by the way has Never seen her before and he would make the decision to release her or not. So saturday night she finds out the 72 hrs doesnt start till the said Dr. Sees her monday. So he sees her this morning and you guessed it Refused to release her till Wednesday! I got the police involved and have an appointment with a lawyer tomorrow afternoon. I should add that She has told everyone she feels unsafe noone cares they only want to sedate her with meds that she refusing to take. DR R WHO HAPPENS TO BE THE MEDICAL DIRECTOR that if she does take the meds that it will hinder her release. She has NEVER been on meds prior to going in there. She doesnt want the meds either especially in a place she feels unsafe. She has now brother 3 full days and one evening. Has not been offered any therapy only meds! She was also placed one chemical dependency unit for an eating disorder and depression. So NONE of the groups relate to her. So not only is she being held against her will she is being held without treatment other than meds! SAVE YOURSELF AND YOUR LOVED ONES DONT SEND THEM THERE UNLESS YOU WANT THERE ISSUES TO WORSEN. I do NOT recommend Becket Springs. There is no communication between the psychiatrist and patient's (minor) family, despite numerous attempts to try. I was ignored. There was not a meeting or closer at discharge; I had to ask the the therapist to speak with me. She was rude, and acted inconvenienced. No explanation of the diagnosis criteria. The admission process was traumatic. We were threatened to have children's services if we removed our child, even though every instinct felt wrong; this is especially true with the total lack of transparency. We were given no virtually no information. There was one unproductive family therapy meeting. This place is a money grubbing, unethical place with condescending staff. I felt I had no choice but to use Becket Springs. Our situation is no better, if it not it's worse. Our family is even more traumatized than we already were, under more distress, and with more bills. I wish I had known how horrible it was before it we were instructed to go there. read more

I was there for 3 weeks of PHP And 5 weeks for IOP. Nothing short of amazing, staff were so helpful and caring. I will assume the bad post are for the folks that did not want to go out of there comfort zone. I feel I have made huge improvements on my mental health and addiction. PHP was from 08:30-3 pm. IOP is three nights a week for three hours a night. I can not stress enough to stick with it. Laura and Dennis deserve huge shout out. They were the first line of my recovery. I went into Beckett Springs "hospital" to detox, what they don't tell you is with all the paperwork you sign, your basically signing yourself into a mental facility for 72 hours where you can't sign yourself out. I went into Beckett Springs sick as a dog, and came out sick!!! They don't give you anything for pain except for Tylenol (if your lucky enough to get Dr. Rahmand) THEN upon discharge he pushes for me to take the novalax shot which last for 28 days and blocks the effects of opiates. This would be GREAT, but your body has to be clean if ALL opiates (fentanyl) or else it'll throw your body into pre(something) withdrawals. After telling the good doctor this, he decides it's more fiscally responsible to give me a pill to see if it throws me into "WITHDRAWAL". I wouldn't be able to leave if I didn't take this pill. So I take the pill and guess what, I go into withdrawal's now mind you Dr. Rahmand doesn't offer anything but Tylenol for pain, so I walked out of there SICK AS A DOG!!! You can pretty much guess what I had to do to get better. Just keep in mind Beckett Springs is run more like a business rather than a medical facility. They also put patients with SERIOUS MENTAL ISSUES with patient's who are trying to detox. This place is not the answer!!!! read more

This place does NOT want you to get better. They only want to make money. It started when I got bad. Really, obviously bad and I went to the ER for suicidal thoughts/self-injury. This place was the only place that had beds and took my insurance. I slept through the entire day's worth schedule, including meals because that hospital had me on a blood pressure cuff and oxygen sat meter all night. Nobody woke me up to eat. Nobody told me about the schedule, my meds...nothing. I had to do it all myself, and for someone so depressed they can't do normal day to day things, that's a struggle. But maybe it was fine because there was individual therapy there right? No. Absolutely none. The only thing close to therapy is a group session where you check-in and no matter how badly you need help the therapist just smiles and nods. This isn't helpful for everyone, and even with only a group, you get music therapy, recreational therapy, and maybe church on Sunday. If they feel like it. You never get any real help, the whole place is just a giant waiting room for the psychiatrist who only sees you for a few minutes a day, barely cares about your situation, and prescribes everyone the same medication no matter what, but you have to beg constantly to let you leave. I should also mention that if you're stuck there involuntarily or ever sign out they place you on a 72-hour hold (business days btw, for weekends you're out of luck), and they LIE to you about what happens afterward (They'll probate you.) They keep everyone way longer than they should and the only reason anyone gets "better" here is you have to pretend you get better or they'll never let you go. If you don't? You better have some damn good people in your life to crack you out of there, or your insurance better run out or be called off to pay for the place. Oh, and when your support system comes to get you? The reception will be rude as heck about it. Bottom line: Run. Very far away. Do your research if you're suicidal or dealing with something. Please. Go ANYWHERE else. This is the worst mental health facility I've ever had the displeasure of dealing with. They do NOT care about helping you one bit. Bottom line. They're money hungry, unprofessional people. Please do not send anyone suffering with any sort of addiction or mental health crisis here. They'll be put on medications, and then held as long as the insurance will pay for it. The majority of staff are unprofessional, rude, and should not be working in a healthcare field. Those I've talked to who work in psychiatry will never send clients there, because of this reason. Do not, under any circumstances, send anyone here. read more

After having my brother in the inpatient facility I could see a major disconnect in the facility. I am a nursing faculty member with 30years of health care experience and it was very evident that the staff lacked experience. The charge nurse had one year clinical experience and was not able to pronounce the medications nor did she know the difference between the generic vs. trade name. Surely it is not easy for a new graduate nurse entering the field but with this inexperience she should not be in-charge of a unit. As a family member we were never allow to talk with the doctor only the mental health social worker. So as you can imagine how much information is lost between the patient - family - doctor -social worker - nurse. Respectfully....It was evident that the left hand did not know what the right hand was doing at Becket Springs. I notice a failure of anyone calling your back except the people doing the billing. During my brother's discharge the counselor suggested the outpatient programs but did not know what they offered. She told me to call them and they would give that information. Why would you suggest a program at discharge but not know anything about that program? I found that very confusing. The client population is younger so anyone over the age of 35 should consider something different than Becket Springs. Mental Health is a very challenging field and our society needs appropriate places for families to reach for help. Perhaps Beckett Springs is growing faster than the ability to provide the care their web site promotes. In my experience at Becket Spring I would suggest you look at other options until they make the needed internal changes to the way they are providing care and guidance. read more

I was in Beckett Springs for 4 nights and I want to detail my experience there to keep anyone else from going through the trauma I experienced. You WILL be held against your will and YOU WILL NOT BE SAFE. I went in to Beckett in order to switch meds safely because a new antidepressant was causing severe depression and intrusive thoughts. I made it clear from the beginning that I had no intent or plan to hurt myself - I just wanted help transitioning to a new medication that would hopefully work better. When I met with the assessor, I asked if I did inpatient, would I be able to leave if the place was not a good fit for me. She told me that I could sign an AMA (against medical advice) and be out as long as a doctor was present. Remember this as this is important, and NOT TRUE. I was told by the assessor that the average stay in the mental health wing is 3-5 days. I started talking to patients in the wing my first night and realized that all had been kept for over a week. Many said that the doctors would give them X day for discharge, and then repeatedly push it back. One woman has been in there for almost 50 days with no plan of discharge. I talked to several individuals that were as high functioning as me, and they said they've felt fine for a week and still have no discharge in sight. One mentioned that she only got a discharge date when she told the financial coordinator that she couldn't afford to pay for her stay. It honestly seems like Beckett is here to get as much insurance money out of you as possible. Now here comes the negligence - I witnessed multiple patients that were fall risks not being monitored, and therefore several people fell. My first roommate came in lucid and on a walker. She told me she was given trazodone three times a day - a sleep aid - and she turned into a mumbling woman I didn't recognize. She fell in the main area and hit her head because of the effects of her drugs, so she was put into a wheelchair. Patients that are fall risks normally have someone with them at all times in other hospitals, but here they are given a countertop bell you could see at a hotel. My third day I walked in to her laying on the ground after falling out of bed because she was too drugged up to realize where her bell was to call for help. She said she hit her head again, and it took them half the day until they sent her to the hospital to get looked at. Another gentleman was admitted even though they didn't have a room for him, so he was kept in a recliner in the hallway. He did not have a room for several days! I did not see him rotated to make sure he didn't develop bed sores. He was able to get up and wander around over five times, and the patients often had to be the ones to notify the staff that he was up DESPITE HIM BEING DIRECTLY IN FRONT OF THE NURSES STATION. At one point two staff couldn't convince him to sit down, so they abandoned him and went back to work, leaving patients to make sure he didn't fall. Depending on what patients are at Beckett Springs YOU WILL NOT BE SAFE. A large gentleman came in on my third day, and the fact that they had someone with him at all times demonstrated that they knew he was either a threat to himself or someone else. That night, he was left unattended. He pulled out his penis and sexually harassed one woman, and then was able to ENTER two women's room and sexually harass them and NO ONE NOTICED. One of the women was able to get out and get someone to remove him. The woman that was flashed wanted to talk to a therapist about what had just happened to her, but was denied for over 12 hours. She also wanted to press charges and was denied. When she said she was going to call the police herself, she was threatened with losing her phone privileges. This man had looked me in the eyes and licked his lips, so I was repeatedly crying after the events. Staff that overheard me talking to my husband about it rolled their eyes. I was again told in group that I was safe, but that is obviously false as this was allowed to happen to three women. The woman that was flashed was allowed to transfer to another unit, but nothing happened to the man besides getting a sitter again. Now for AMA. I was told that I wouldn't be discharged for several days, so I wanted to sign myself out because I did not feel safe. I was then told that I would be put on a 24 hour hold if I signed, in order to determine if I was safe to leave. This 24 hours could actually extend to 72 hours per their paperwork. I was also told that signing AMA would mean that my insurance would not have to cover my time there, which is easily over 10k a day. I was essentially stuck there until they decided to discharge me, and from talking to others, that would be when my insurance ran out. I was NEVER told ANY of this when I signed myself in, and I never would have gone in had I known. The only reason why I was out as quickly as I was was due to my husband and I threatening to get a lawyer. read more

I was a patient at beckett springs. I was told that I would have one on one counciling to work on trauma. This was not in fact true. They told me after I was put into inpatient that they do not work on trauma or do one on one conunciling. That our per interactions were what was considered " one on one council". While the facility was not good i was lucky enough to have a wonderful group. We have bee each others rock and support. They recently opened up in person visitation. Today we went to see our friend. Who unfortunately does not have any family in the area. They told us that we were not allowed to see him. So I asked to speak to the very rude patient advocate. I had called my lawyer to ask if this was allowed for them to do. He said if it was not in the policy, then legally they can't. The patient advocate said that it was in thier policy but refused to give me the policy. I as a previous patient already had it and sent it to my lawyer. Who had proof read it and did not find it. The patient advocate threatened to call the police on me. As a addict in recovery we are told that our pirs are a form of support. They understand what our family and friends can not. In AA and Na it's alcoholicsls helping alcoholics. Addicts helping addicts. Our friend is very upset and hurt. We can all relate they do not care about the emotional impact they make on their patients. Beckett Springs is ONLY looking for a pay out. If you are struggling with alcohol or drug use please find help. Do Not Go to beckett springs. read more

I'm genuinely shocked at the low ratings this place has received. I was admitted to the inpatient program a couple times, mostly because it took me a long time to want to get better. The inpatient program is all about starting medication. I was in the mental health part and Dr. Rahman completely changed my view on psychiatrists. He was nice and understanding. The staff on the unit was great as well! There were a couple nurses and PCA's that would do anything for their patients. They listened, were attentive to my needs, and most of all, were very compassionate. There were a couple staff members that inspired me to get better and I think of all the advice they gave when I'm tempted to call it quits. The PHP program was incredible! However, I've heard that it depends on the therapist you get. I had Sarena and she was surprisingly...well...pretty awesome. She taught DBT skills in a different manner using many visual aids and even acting out parts. She believed in her patients and really strived to help them learn the skills they needed to recover. I recommend this place to anyone suffering from a mental illness. I have no idea what the addiction program is like but the mental wellness program is sufficient and helpful. It is a nice place to keep you safe and the PHP program (which is absolutely vital in recovery) is exceptional. read more

Normally I'd prefer not to be evaluated by anyone. I do not like being judged and a 2 hour eval without my phone was anxious enough. I did beckets partial program and loved it. I went here for psychiatric help about a month ago. This place was horrible. They should really separate different types of patient situations so people can feel more comfortable in their environment. Most of the days I felt very unsafe in my unit. Not only that, half of the staff are extremely rude. They do not care about you one bit. They always rat on about how much they don't want to be there and want to go home, etc, etc... Hearing that just makes me very uncomfortable and angry. I did have a few staff members that I really enjoyed though. They treated me like I was normal. Next, the food is absolutely terrible. Breakfast was okay but for every lunch and dinner, I resorted to a peanut butter jelly. Gross. Last thing is the psychiatrists... These greedy people will try to keep you as long as possible and it is outrageous. My psychiatrist attempted to put me on three different medications that I did not need at all. She also diagnosed me with two mental illnesses that I KNOW I do not have. Absolutely ridiculous and extremely unprofessional. One final complaint. When I was being admitted, my family and I were told that I would have a 5-day plan that included the unofficial bill for my admittance. Despite me telling them that my family has some heavy economic problems, they decided to keep me another day. They don't ask permission from you, you have to listen to them and do whatever they want. If you have an addiction that you desperately want help for you may like this place.. They will taper you off of benzos. They will do a medical detox and give you medicine to help. And the one therapist was familiar with Post Acute Withdrawal which is a surprise. As far as being Depressed goes I wouldn't bother. The "group therapy" is more like a class or presentation that was mostly unhelpful, repetitive, boring, or useless. If you've spent much time in therapy or have some knowledge about Psychology or Cognitive Behavioral Therapy you'll just be bored and feel talked down to. They may mean well but I didn't get much out of it. read more

READ THIS BEFORE YOU GO HERE Before insurance you will be paying $1,500 A DAY to SIT AND WATCH TV FOR 5-7 HOURS A DAY. No joke every day I added up the times on the schedule and this is what you're paying for. Only 3-4 hours a day are spent in "therapy groups" where you and some others listen and talk about a topic. Wanna know what we did for 45 minutes in "health and wellness?" We played a game where the guy showed us pictures of food, and we guessed what they were....absolutely ridiculous. Healthy eating and exercise are a HUGE part of being mentally healthy and this person thought it was a good idea to not go over any of that and instead play some USELESS GAME. The food in the cafeteria is disgusting and bland, and not healthy. The full four days I was there I talked to my therapist and the doctor maybe a total of 10 minutes. You do not get any ONE ON ONE therapy sessions. You do not even have the curtesy of being told what medications you're being put on by the doctor. Dr. Rahman just shoos you out of the room after asking you 5 questions and puts you on some meds to "fix the problem." This place just drugs you up and tries to keep you there as long as possible. I was in the meadows unit. On the schedule when it would say "fitness" we literally did nothing but watch tv. When "journaling" was on the schedule, we also did nothing but watch tv. We were not given notebooks to journal in. We never exercised once. What we did mostly, was watch tv and movies. Cannot believe this place charges this much or is even still running for that matter. This is by far the worst outpatient I've ever been in. Today I actually signed myself out after only 4 1/2 days completed. My new therapist needs her license taken away and my doctor doesn't listen to you at all. They completely have their heads up there asses. I went in for mental health treatment and got but in substance abuse treatment. I am clean and sober, not using, not wanting to use, haven't had cravings in 7 months, and just tired of always being put in dual treatment programs. I don't need that now. I know how to be sober. But again they WILL NOT LISTEN TO YOU, WILL MAKE FALSE PROMISES TO YOU, AND LET YOU DOWN, AND BELITTLE YOU. Worse place ever! read more
