Late post.. I paid off our mortgage last Dec & very excited about it. However the employee helping us seems like had no customer service skills. Even my husband noticed it too. We were not happy with the experience. We plan to close our account & transfer our funds to another bank. Employees should be careful treating their customers since they are representative of BECU. Remiss for not submitting a review earlier, but BECU is the bomb! In particular Wendy who assisted me in a hacking case on my bank card. Of course hackers seem to hit right when rent is due, causing a severe shortage of funds for bills. Wendy and the branch manager (name ?) set me up with a temporary fund to cover the monies taken from my account. Not a loan, but a temp fund while the hacking was being investigated. Whew what a relief. The investigation got my cash back (someone purchased a cell phone) and sanity. Thank you BECU, you're the best. read more

Notary doesn't print or sign on the attorney drafted documents that we provided stating there is no space for the stamp. So she used her own document and the notary stamp is not even legible. Really? Get your documents notarized some where else not at this location. read more

5 stars for this location one star for one of the employee that works here. I went in last week, and was confused as to what day it was based of the dress code one employee I believe was named "perla". I would have thought is was casual friday based on her appearance, but it was in fact a Thursday. She had on see through leggings, so tight her unmentionables were obvious, and no coverage on the back. Aside from that, I was very turned off with her interaction with her fellow colleagues. I'm not sure if she is some sort of "manager" but she needs a good reality check and a demotion if that is the case. She is so unbelievably rude and degrading in her interaction with her fellow colleagues. I was completely turned off from ever returning to this location. I hope something is done about this blatant act of unprofessionalism! Dress as well as conduct Yuck!!! read more

I walked in today, as it turned out, fifteen minutes before this in-store "Neighborhood Financial Center" closed. I wanted to open an account. I've had bank accounts with Wells Fargo, Bank of America and Harborstone Credit Union. I know for a fact all of them would have turned me away and told me to come back when they had more time. BECU? They were glad to help me open an account. The employees were friendly and helpful to everyone in line until about ten minutes after closing when there wasn't anyone left in line and setting up my account was completed. They made it clear they were happy to stay and answer questions. (Not to mention that my boyfriend got a $25 referral credit deposited into his savings immediately and they used my $25 referee credit to open my account!) I know several people who bank with BECU and I can easily say I'm happy to be a new member. read more

We have been customers for 10+ years and have had a few bumps along the way but have been pretty happy until last week. We went on a mini vacation and discovered that two payments were pulled early causing almost $200 in overdraft fees. Of course I couldn't talk to anybody about it because it was Sunday. When I called to talk to a manager it took three days for someone to call me back and when I did I had to talk to someone above him to get even half of the late fees reverse because it was their fault. We are severely unhappy and when I said we would take our business somewhere else they didn't seem concerned in the least. It's sad that we have to change banks and move everything but this is what we have to do because of how we were treated. read more

I had my wallet stolen out of my truck while in church at Champion Centre in Tacoma. Not only did becu camcel my debit card, and reissued a new one. I had previously written a complaint/review of a mortgage consultant at the Benson BECU branch. The branch manager Brodie Nelson called me to discuss the details and tried to make up for their incident. We had a short but productive conversation where he allowed me to do a bit of venting. He proceeded to send me a Starbucks gift card and a handwritten note to apologize. It was a very nice gesture and I can appreciate him reaching out to me. First off, shoutout to Mr. A Singh Walked into the branch and while I was still checking in, Mr. Singh jumped out of his seat to offer assistance. I told him I was interested in opening a savings account and he sat me down explaining all the benefits and details of their program. He was very patient and took the time to answer all my questions. The the whole experience was smooth and I could tell Mr. Singh was very knowledgable, insightful, and honest. I would encourage anyone seeking services meet with Mr. Singh if available! read more

This BECU is located inside the Uwajimaya store in Renton. I've been here a couple times and it has always been a good experience. Last time I went in, I was adding a secondary to one of my accounts. There were only two people working and the line was moving rather slow, but luckily I was the second person in line. I probably waited about 10 minutes before I was helped and they were apologetic for the amount of time it took before they could help me. Once I was being helped, it was a very quick process to add my secondary to the account and I was out of there in about 5 minutes. The employee who helped me was very nice and showed me what he had done on the computer to verify that the secondary had been added and accepted. I will be back to this location because: 1) it is the closest BECU to my work, 3) the employees are friendly and nice, and 3) the line to the ATM is usually pretty short. read more

So my son and his fiancé are buying a car. His fiancé has an out of state drivers license. My son as a FICO score in the high 700's. They spent an hour at the CU, filled out all the paperwork, ran their credit until the very end they were denied because the fiancé had an out of stare drivers license. Since identification is literally the first thing they ask for!! Could they not have said something about the drivers license in the beginning? It's something that could have been resolved before running the application!! Nice going BECU, but I have to admit, this is not the first time you have been a complete disappointment and I promise to share my frustration with everyone I know!!! read more

I've had great experiences with the workers here until last time. I worked with this one Asian/Filipino lady to add an early saver checking account for my son and she took 45 minutes to do it because she kept messing up and taking her time! Now I know it doesn't take this long to do that, because I came in two days before with my other child to do the exact same thing and it only took 15 minutes. After she set up his account and issued the debit card, my son was so excited that he went to the ATM to go make his first deposit with all his cash that he had brought. For some reason the lady helping us was insisting on updating our address in the system because I had asked for a direct deposit sheet and it printed incorrectly. She changed it 5 times in the system before she realized it might just be take a little bit of time to update. Each time she would update it then waddle over to the printer to grab the letter and realize it was still my old address. I kept saying i had to go as we were late, I'll come back another day, and she kept saying oh i almost have it. Grrrrr My son was making his deposit in the meantime and we're not sure exactly what happened, but the ATM took his money and was unable to deposit it to the account. we asked the lady we were working with, and she just waved it off saying it does that sometimes it will show up in his account overnight. two days later the deposit still did not show up and I called BECU to figure out what was going on. The lady I spoke with over the phone said that they should have opened an investigation at the time I reported it because of the specific error message that it was giving. I swear, that lady I was working with in person has been there so long she can't get fired or something because she's got to be the stupidest banker I've ever worked with! I knew what she told me did not sound right, but I thought I would give it till the next day anyways. Luckily after I called in, they issued an immediate credit which I told was not necessary, and they were able to find the extra transaction and apply it back to my account. I didn't make a big deal at the time because my son looked so heartbroken when the machine ate all of his hard earned money. I figured I would either come back without him or call in just so he doesn't think there was a chance that they really lost it. This location could use some more ATMs for being a financial center, most of the bankers are very friendly ans quick at what they do and I am minusing one star for the not so smart lady that I worked with last time. read more

Somehow a cashiers check I made out to my landlord (who doesn't even bank here) was deposited into an account WITHOUT an endorsement into an account with a completely different name and they refuse to help me with it. I don't know the person so I can't get it back. Poor business practices and if you want your money where it belongs, don't trust these morons with it! read more

LOVE BECU! I recently had my debit card number stolen through a card reader on a gas pump (beware Renton people!) Anyways... I called their after hours number on a Sunday and my car was cancelled, and I went into the office Monday and they not only gave me a new card, but replenished the funds immediately! I came in one day so I could get my debit card replaced because the ATM at this location ate my card the night before. So I go in at my lunch hour and have to sign my name on the paper and sit and wait. As I'm waiting I notice one of the BECU employees is just finishing with a customer and I see her walk into the back and then come back out with her personal belongings. As she was approaching me I asked her if she would help me get another debit card as the machine had ate mine the night before, she replies with the worst attitude a "customer service" individual could possibly have. She states that " I was supposed to leave an hour ago." She was in no way respectful what so ever. She could have said something along the lines of " somebody will be with you shortly" you know something besides the fact that she was supposed to leave an hour ago. She has made my experience at this BECU terrible. I have no idea what her name is but shes about 5'5 with short brown hair and just terribly rude. read more
