Horrible, horrible, horrible customer service. Received damaged items, customer service wait time is 80 minutes. Offers an option to txt or chat. Neither work. Chat freezes after you describe the issue. I tried multiple times on different days. Txt is not even an option....it does not work either and just re-cycles. After waiting 80 minutes on hold and listening to their ad every 30 seconds telling me how important I am to them (what a joke), the rep re-ordered. The replacement ordered was only partially delivered. 80 minute wait to discuss. Can't cancel online, chat freezes, txt doesn't work.....OMG....what a crap company! Never again. What a rip off!!! I used to shop at the retail store and really liked it. Obviously the name has been sold, I think to Overstock, and they will show one thing on line and send an item that is not the same as what was listed. Then, the problem is yours! NO customer support. You cannot really return it, if you do a dispute they prove it was delivered and the cost will be reverted back to you. So there is someone there responding to cardholder disputes, but not to answer the phone. Stay away. This business should be closed down. read more

As we are now approaching 25 days of happily ever after, we decided to tackle our registry ourselves and get some much needed items, so we decided to take a trip here to see about our three piece lighting set. We arrived and at first strived to find someone who worked there that would assist us. After we found a girl, she radioed over the loud speaker for someone to assist. Five minutes pass, she asked again. Another five minutes pass and then she calls out three different staff's names who SHOULD have radioed to help by now. That's a little bad to hunt someone down to do their job. So, we moved into bedding to meet with someone, who told us that there was no lighting there in that location, and thus proceeded to order us our lamps on their computer; something I could have done from home. She appeared pretty frustrated as she worked the computer keys, and then showed us where to check out. That was another story. There is no order at all to the check out line and/or lines. Is there one? Is there multiple? No one gave us and other people on line any heads up on how that worked, so we just all stood there like cattle to the slaughter. We stopped by to purchase a coffee Keurig machine. All the sales people were very helpful in helping us select the right machine. Gosh who can just walk into here an not grab a ton of things. It's awesome in here well at least for me. I love coming here for all my home finds that's needed for everyday. They have a lot of variety things that you use everyday prices are ah so so not the best deals I've had but it's good quality. I do not like usually enjoy BB&B , it is always full of useless and overpriced crap. Also they seem to have way too much scented candles, and other eye irritants floating in the air. But this time they did come in handy. Earlier in the day I saw this Mario Batali Panini Grill Pan with Press on tv. Normally I do not buy items so heavily endorsed by celebs (Except for Sir George Foreman), but I felt compelled to get this goody. So I search online and its $89.99 everywhere (Target,Crate and Barrel,Amazon). Most have shipping charges ranging from $8.95-$19.95. But before I click "purchase" on an Amazon order...I remembered that I had a gift card to BB&B. I had a $50 gift card leftover from Christmas (yes only took me 9 months to cash it in). I check BB&B and they had it...for $69.99! So while in SI later that day, I stopped in and grab one. I give the lady my $50 card, and get this persimmon colored cookware for only $29.99 (plus a few bucks extra with tax). As I check online today, its back to $89.99 on BB&B...so much for passing this good news on. But keep checking their site for another sale. This store will probably be out of business very soon, following in the footsteps of their other brands. Purchased a $200 garbage can, yes I know it's crazy, but I figured the more you pay the better the quality, nope not true, the plastic hinge broke off like the tail on a scared iguana. Went to the store to get a replacement, for hit with 60,000 questions that I didn't have answers to. Maybe me feel like I stole the item, and maybe even worse like I broke it. Wow, super wow, I hope my $200 pays all of your seasons bonuses. The good thing is there are sooooo many other options for every item this brand carries. After talking to corporate and not getting the issue resolved or even attempted to resolve it this brand lost a loyal customer, I wonder what's their new customer acquisition costs are, hmmmm it's probably cheaper to keep the old customers happy. Shit. Show. Carts left around the store with merchandise that needs to be put back. The security guard made a comment about my ass in leggings. The store itself is on a smaller scale than others. The staff were no where to be found and then the line to check out was only attended by one person. Apparently another worker was standing there the entire time and had to be called out by another worker who saw the scene and said, why didn't you jump in or call someone. The line was 15 deep of people waiting with less than 5 items each. I originally went for Epsom salt body wash and coconut body oil however they don't have that section of bed bath and beyond that houses all the skin and hair care products. Apparently the other bbb on the island does which is probably why it has more stars and obviously the complete mismanagement of this spot leaves it with one star. I will drive to the other location even if it is 5 miles further away. read more

This place is nice! Right when you walk in, there are little food stations. Here, I was once looking for Tam-Tams, when a young female employee stopped me and my son and tried selling us some type of chocolate crackers. I bought into it no problem, and just as I was making my way forward to other aisles, I heard her tell her co-worker how she just successfully sold this product to another customer, and was keeping count. I felt a little weird after this, as if its all a contest to these young coworkers about who can sell the most items to customers? I put the chocolate crackers away later on. Anyway, this store is pretty great! They have so many things here! I buy all my pillows here, pots, pans, even candles! Would be nice if a few more items were on sale, but overall, I love this place! read more

What used to be one of my favorite stores/chains, is now my least. My husband and I were here in November, where he bought me the $400 Dyson blow dryer. I took it home and tried it. It was no better than my $80 Babybliss, so he tried to return it. He visited the location on Richmond Avenue on Monday, December 3rd. We misplaced the receipt, so he gave them the credit card he used. They were unable to pull up the transaction, even though it's on his statement and was taken out of his account. Mind you, this just happened like 3 weeks ago, not a year or longer. He visited the store in Charleston the following day because we thought he might have better luck since it was the store he purchased it from. They also said it wouldn't come up when they scanned his card. Not only that, but when the cashier tried to pick the box up, she ripped it. My husband asked for a new box and they refused. He was livid as who's going to take back a box that has been ripped??? Finally, the employee retrieved a new box. On top of this, I had recently placed an order online. I ordered a kitchen mat and was sent an entirely different one. When my husband tried to return that, they told him they don't sell that and wouldn't take that back! I called the company and they resolved that issue. I am going to visit the Charleston location on Saturday and will not leave until someone refunds my husband. How is it our fault that the transaction isn't coming up on their end when it clearly does on his statement? We should still be refunded. The transaction took place, whether it shows up through their system or not. I am beyond livid and will not be shopping there again. Amazon prime for me from now on. read more

I'm not a fan of this location. I have had a few issues getting help while locating items from a registry. I feel like the staff seems bothered to look around with you. Last time I was there the manager was discussing who she voted for on Dancing with the Stars with the cashier ringing me up while I was having a problem with something not coming off a registry. Low and behold, I went to the bridal shower and there were 4 of the same gift I purchased so obviously they're not doing something right over there. I'll stick to ordering online. read more

I don't like this Bed Bath & Beyond location. The store is very cluttered, like there's not enough space to put everything they want to sell and also have shelves and racks and check-out counters. When there's a lot of people in the store it's even worse. Prepare to say a lot of "oh sorry" as you try to get around people. Their check-out counters aren't even that well situated and can always have long lines. Parking is shared with other stores in the shopping center, though there are rows that seem to be just for this store. read more

My daughter and I went to do her bridal registry, we did not have an appointment. The help we received from SCOTT was exceptional. At first we thought maybe a woman would be better help to us. I know, sexist, but you'd think a woman would be more helpful with a registry. We were SO wrong. The help, knowledge and patience we received from SCOTT was OUTSTANDING. He advised on countless items, was not pushy and knew the products very well. We have to go back and add to registry, we will not do it without SCOTT. My husband and I found everything that we needed and more. I absolutely love this store. Unfortunately my experience with the sales associate wasn't a good one. Diane never greeted us at all. As she was ringing up our items I asked her if the candles I was purchasing were 2 for 20 as the sign said. She told me no and the real price. I should have known it was too good to be true but I let her know that it was a sign there. At this point she let us know that we didnt see a sign as if I was making it up. She called another associate up to bring her the alleged sign. In the meantime a gentleman behind us let her know that he had s similar issue. She was extremely gracious and offered to look up the item in the computer once she was done "figuring out what thought they saw". We told her to not even worry about it. The associate comes back with a picture of the sign that she claims we didnt see. It was a smaller size candle that was 2 for 20. I've worked in retail for almost 15 years. It's all about HOW YOU SPEAK TO CUSTOMERS AND YOUR CHOICE OF WORDS. WE SPENT ALMOST 200 DOLLARS BUT EVEN IF I SPENT 5 WE DIDNT DESERVE TO BE TREATED THAT WAY. After about close to 20 years my Microwave Oven microwaved its last meal. I needed a new one and just that morning what should arrive in the mail but a 20% Off coupon from Bed Bath & Beyond. So I trudged on down to the nearest one which was this one on Richmond Avenue. Since there was no sales people available, I found the aisle with the microwaves myself, compared the prices and decided on the smallest one that they had. I took it to the counter, gave them my coupon, paid for my purchase and made my way out the door. The whole process took no longer than 15 minutes. I really did not have any problem here. As an ex employee of this Bed Bath and Beyond at this location, I would like to put my 2 cents in. I worked at this location for six very long years until last year when I could not take it anymore and resigned. After reading all these negative reviews, I would like to give a rare and unique look from the inside out. It all starts with management, and more specifically the store manager, Toniann. The store management's presence (when they aren't sitting in the office texting while employees carry out their hard labor) is the reason for this location's less than stellar reviews. Toniann is a good person, however, she should not be the store manager. Many of the reviews claim that the employees are disgruntled, unhappy and unmotivated. Toniann is to blame. When she was in the store there was a constant tension. We worked with zero morale or enthusiasm for what we are doing, due to her many negative actions. If she had a problem with you, she wouldn't tell you, she would only tell others. She would actually tell you you did a good job only to tell others the opposite. She would go as far as to give you undesirable shifts until the wages became obsolete. The only contact you would likely make with her in any given week is a hello. If she wanted you to carry out a task, which she has every right to, she wouldn't even notify you, she will usually just leave what she wants done in your immediate way. Say if you were cleaning a section, you'd find what she wants done right in the middle of it and maybe you will catch her walking away. It made me feel more like a drone than a person, and I bet other ex employees would echo that sentiment. When she is not present, the store generally works harder, happier and with enthusiasm. Customers have called and complained about her numerous times, to no avail. I am writing this review because I still talk to employees there and I honestly feel bad for them. I think this location can do well with better management. It breaks my heart to see some of the reviews here. Again, I think Toniann is a good person and deserves the best, I just don't think she possesses some of the attributes needed to motivate and make her workers happy. read more

Not only is the store gloomy, small, and badly merchandised, but the staff is rude and unhelpful. The women at customer service provides anything but good customer service. I noticed Kohls had an item I wanted to buy, but I didn't want to drive there (I have a disability and didn't want to have to drive further than necessary) so I called BB&B and asked if they would match the discount Kohls was giving me. (I asked multiple times....and two different people). They assured me they would and they would pull the item and leave it at the customer service desk. I got to the store and they wouldn't honor what they told me over the phone. They made one excuse after another. Very disappointing, and I left and purchased my item at Kohls, no headahces, nice 30% discount saved myself $75.00. Iv been to a lot of bed bath and beyond I feel like this one might be the smallest one Iv been to... The way this place is segmented was pretty annoying... For me to want to get something I already know I want to get but have to search for it like crazy.. The service was horrible too....ask a questions...they don't even know what's I'm asking or get confused... How do you work there and not know where certain items are located in your stores ....there's always a line... Expically on a holiday... There's only two register open...so yeah thats why there are lines..there also customer service sucks! They put the most confused person to help with returns and issues... Which holds up the line for hours... Crazy... Only reason I come here cause they send me deals durning the holidays... Yes there is parking... Parking lot is pretty big... My husband & I did our bridal registry here. The girls in the bridal department are very helpful. It's when we go there to buy things sometimes there's no one on the floor to ask for help. Sometimes we shop at the BB&B on Veterens Road - they're pretty helpful there. Last time we were there I was looking for items off of my friends registry & the manager happened to be on the floor. He asked me if I needed help then took care of me right away & ordered my items for me. When purchasing off of a registry, I recommend doing it in the store rather than online. If you do it online you can't use any coupons where as in the store you can. BB&B are always sending those 20% off coupons which is great & they take store credit & coupons from Christmas Tree Shop as well. Also when you do a registry there & you tell them that someone recommended you there - they give that couple a $25.00 coupon which is nice! read more

Worst bed bath and beyond EVER. My mother purchased something off my wedding registry that I no longer wanted so we went together to exchange it for something else. The customer service associate is beyonddd rude. Her name is Christina. She rolled her eyes the minute I stared I wanted to exchange something. I had my receipt in my hand the entire time and when she stated my mom would get store credit I asked why. She opened up the box of the utensil set my mom originally purchased and stated "well what's wrong with it that you want to return it" I have my reasons why I no longer wanted it and you should mind your business. When I handed her the receipt she called someone else over to explain why my mom would get store credit. I stated it's MY registry I want it returned and I want the balance put back on my mothers debit card. She again rolled her eyes and kept looking me up and down.
