All beers are available in 5 oz pours for $3.25-3.50 plus tax. I was hungry on my stop, so I ordered their full vegan pizza ($17 plus tax) -- really well-done, with lots of nice toppings and an impressive homemade crust. No special vegan meats or cheeses, just nice bread and toppings. Of course, the beer is the highlight, but I use Yelp primarily for food, so my review is centred on that. Then, I went back again during my recent 24-hour stopover in Montreal. I guess it's fair to say I really like this place - definitely a solid 4.5 stars! Unlike other breweries that focus more on strong IPAs or use some very unique and creative ingredients, Isle de Garde's beers are more down-to-earth. They emphasize on simplicity, and yet they're amazing in what they do! Grisette is my personal favorite - super crisp and refreshing with hints of citrusy. I also tried a few other "simplistic beers" (lager, kolsch, pilsner, etc) and they're very impressive too! Just for fun, I tried their stout for a change - it's low on alcohol content (under 4%) but it's EXTREMELY creamy. What a pleasant surprise to finish my beer tasting experience! Their food offering is definitely NOT the typical "pub food", and overall quality is excellent! I tried a few dishes during my two visits - beef tartar, grilled octopus, veal tongue, etc. The reason for deducting one star is due to a minor inconsistency in their food quality (i.e. first visit was awesome, and second visit was great). Nerveless, my second visit was on Dec 27, so I believe the minor quality degradation was just a one-off situation as staff level was probably lower everywhere. They have a HUGE patio along the street which makes them an awesome place to hang out on a sunny summer day! The staff also told me they have resumed producing beer in cans in late 2022, so as you'd imagine, I've stocked up (especially their Grisette) before heading back to my home town. They have several of them in this place and I have found one of my favourite in Quebec: The Tribale IPA. It has a nice bracing bitterness, a well balanced hoppy flavor, strong but not overpowering, not malty, and with a nice subtle grapefruit taste that is what I usually look in an IPA. They also sell it in a can in their store, so I bought 4 cans and that same night had it taste to another IPA hunter and was very happy with the new discovery.

The brewery offers brewing classes in cooperation with Institut Brassicole du Quebec that I may try as something new to learn in 2019!

I don't recommend the accras d'aiglefin, it's 3 small balls for $12 really over priced. The fish and chips was very good but same as the calamari's the batter didn't stay on at all. The chorizo burger was amazing, delicious spicy meat patty with tangy goat cheese. I strongly recommend that one.

We were seated without any issue, ordered a pitcher, and our kids had water. About 20 minutes later, we were suddenly told there was a $10 minimum per person, including the children, and were told they could order a soft drink or juice. Aside from the fact that a juice or soft drink obviously doesn't cost $10, what made the situation particularly frustrating was that a nearby table of three adults had only ordered a pitcher of sangria and, as far as we could see, they were not approached about the same $10-per-person minimum. The message felt pretty clear: we were the only table with children, and they didn't want us there. If children aren't welcome, that's completely fine--but then simply tell families at the door rather than seating them, taking their order, and then introducing a "minimum per person" 20 minutes later that doesn't appear to be applied consistently to other customers. We understood the message, quickly finished our drinks, and left. Needless to say, we won't be returning.
