I contacted BEDR Wildlife for assistance with birds. They provided a quote over the phone and scheduled an appointment for the next business day. They addressed three entry points, all of which were 3-4 stories high. They scaled those heights with ease. They were quick and efficient. I realized afterwards that I had been overcharged. I contacted the owner and he immediately agreed to make it right. He also spotted a safety issue and recommended his team come back to address. They did so and completed the work to my satisfaction. I contacted three companies, but BEDR was the only one willing and available to come out that same day (which was a Friday) to rid us of a raccoon. The other companies said they'd come out the next week by which time I was worried the raccoon would be living in our attic. The two fellows who arrived knew what they were doing and right away started raccoon proofing our house which gave me and our family peace of mind. And now the raccoon has been relocated. We had a raccoon in our attic. Kenny was able to come out the next day and set up a trap outside. When he returned to check the trap, the raccoon was no longer in our attic and he closed up the hole that the raccoon had made in our roof to get in. Highly recommend! read more

Kenny had done some squirrel pest control for my neighbors and since I was having the same problem, I decided to use him too. They were pleased so I went with their recommendation. I called and told them my problem he listened explain what needed to be done and I agreed. He came out in the time slot he said, he was friendly and professional he had a partner with him who was just as kind. They answered all my questions and were very fast. I had a hole on the outside of my house and they patched it so good you can't even tell it was there. They used some metal sheet (thing) and what else to make it look brand new. Excellent service and attention. we slept in our guestroom because work was being done in our bedroom. Early in the morning we hear scratch-scratch-scrath and a few light thumps. Same thing the next morning and the next. We started looking for a company to come and hopefully figure out what was in there and how they were getting in. First company just proclaimed there were mice and squirrels and they would trap for four days and then for $3,500 do some work under our gutters to block entry. Second company was VA Animal Control. Kenny, the owner, came and went up in the attic and saw no obvious signs of nests or excrement, but said he wanted to inspect outside for signs of entry. He called us outside after a while and pointed out four holes in our dormers where the darn squirrels had eaten their way into the attic. WTH??? He gave us a proposal for trapping and a staged process to see where they were entering, followed by application of metal sheathing to cover the access points. He placed a cage on the roof near the points of entry and within hours had trapped the first squirrel. He came every morning for five days to check the cages and replace the traps. Caught four of the darn varmints which were released about 40 miles or so away from us. We hope no more decide to move in, but we know who to call if they do. Thanks, Kenny Debbie and Skip read more

I hate birds. Like truly hate the winged rats. And I recently found out that I had some living in my bathroom vent. So those that know me know my anxiety hit the roof. I initially called another company who referred me to this one (because he was moving his business out of state). I spoke to Kenny in a frantic mode. I was sitting in my car watching the birds having a party in my vent. Living in my home without paying rent...yeah not me! Luckily for me he said that he would be in my area and could solve my problem today. The eviction process started today! Kenny called me when he was about 10 minutes out. He came promptly, was courteous, and didn't even flinch when 3 birds that were chilling in there flew out. The nest and debris that came out of that vent...I swear I couldn't believe the amount of stuff in there. Once he closed up everything, do you know the birds had the audacity to try and return??? BEWARE! Truly the most unpleasant experience that I have ever had as a consumer. This place should not even have a business license. I have filed a consumer complaint with the Virginia OAG because I believe this company should be shut down. if I could give Kenny a 0 star I would, I am all about small business and helping them out, but damn he was very rude once he arrived at the house. He states he has been doing this for 11 years that's fine, definitely does not give him the right to be rude and unprofessional. He could have started by saying that he would do a free estimate instead of giving me an initial set price which included what was discussed, but once he arrived he stated it would be more and just got extremely rude after I told him I could not pay the extra amount he asked for, he than ​went back to the original price, I gave him my CC number and than he begins to get rude AF again. I then told him he is not doing the job and proceeded to tell me I don't tell him what to do and hung up on me. Kenny and his assistant, Scott, arrived on time and were efficient ridding my attic of squirrels. And for the animal lovers out there, they took the squirrels to a wildlife area miles and miles away. I could tell they were animal lovers too. They covered my attic vents with wire to prevent this from happening again. All of this was done with care and for a reasonable price. Don't use this company! Called them on June 11 about 2 chipmunks that are around the house to prevent them from trying to find a way in or causing damage. They came out on Monday (6/14) and set 3 wooden snap traps since that's all they had with them. They informed us they would return the next day (6/15) to bring more traps and to check on the traps each day, up to 5 days, however they never showed up. I called the company and they told me they would come the following day (6/16) which they did but only to bring 2 cages and a couple more wooden snap traps. They stopped by on Thursday (6/17) but did not come on Friday or the weekend. They then stopped by on Monday (6/21) and took the cages that were empty and left snap traps. On Tuesday (6/22) they stopped by to check the traps but still nothing caught and then came by on 6/23 to pick up all the empty snap traps. We paid almost $500 to basically have snap traps with peanut butter placed outside where squirrels, foxes, etc. ate and broke traps. For that amount of money, I could have bought better traps and caught the chipmunks myself. Never again! read more

Let start by saying that Kenny called me, I told him the issue and they came out the next day. Scott and Kenny were extremely personable and knowledgeable. They had assessed the work and determined what could be the cause before I even had a chance to fully articulate it. Va Animal Control never completed the work paid for. Va Animal Control was hired to seal my house against vermin, they mesh wired over louvers, caulked holes and placed wire at foundation at porch. The foundation at porch wire mesh was not adequate in keeping vermin out (many gaps ) and visually unappealing. Va Animal Control was contacted by me to complete their work, they agreed but never returned. I made many calls to the owner and he always had an excuse for not coming as agreed and said tomorrow he'd be there many times. I would give zero stars if possibly. We had been hearing scratching in our attic for a few days and decided to try some professional help. We got a hold of VA Animal Control and were told over the phone that they would come out, do a full house assessment, capture any animals, and seal the hole. We assumed this would all be included in the $350 fee they quoted. Obviously things may be different when they get to the site, but what we were told over the phone was drastically different than what happened. They came out gave us a list of over $1000 of additional work we would need them to do to "solve the problem". They went in the attic and could not locate anything or where the presumed squirrels were getting in. They set a trap on top of the roof were they thought they might be getting in. They never contacted us when they came to get the trap 5 days later and scared guests we had staying when they looked out the window and saw a man standing on the roof. I guess they didn't catch anything since we never heard anything and they didn't follow up. We still hear scratching over our bed every morning and through out the day. Basically this company did not help at all and just took our money. We could have bought a trap ourselves for way less money which is what we are trying now. The only positive thing i could say is they came out quickly but since they didn't solve the problem it doesn't really matter. read more

We didn't know who to call when we started hearing scratching noises coming from our HVAC/vent system. Based on previous reviews, we reached out to VA Animal Control in King George, VA. They came out right away and knew exactly what was causing the problem and where the problem was located. It turned out to be a bird camping out in one of our vents. The two employees who came to our home were courteous and professional. They knew exactly where the bird entered our vent and worked efficiently and effectively to remove the nest. Very nice folks at this company. We will definitely use them again should another problem arise. read more

Do not use this company! I felt taken advantage of - like I was charged for no work. They were unprofessional. One of the workers spit (yes, spit) right next to me and none of them wore booties in the house as other more reputable companies do. They didn't do an extensive investigation of the problem. They were incorrect regarding the type animal in the attic. The workers stated that they put poison in the attic to address the issue but the inspector that came out to give me a second opinion didn't see the poison. The inspector also informed me that there weren't mice in the attic (there was some mouse droppings) but the source of the initial inquiry were flying squirrels. When I called to express my concerns to the owner, after talking for about ten minutes, he hung up on me. Apparently, the unprofessionalism starts at the top. Stay away! read more

They did a great job! They gave us an arrival window of between 7 and 8:30 and we were a little stressed since we had to be somewhere that morning. They arrived at 7:30, and explained the problem thoroughly (family of racoons) and kept us updated about all the steps they needed to take to resolve the issue. After retrieving the baby racoons from the attic attempted to reunite the mother with her babies outside of the house. They resolved the issue and sealed the point of entry in a matter of an hour. We also appreciate that they called to follow up and be sure all was quite up there that night. We were impressed the quick and careful work and their professionalism. This company does not communicate well with the homeowner and they didn't finish the job they started. I have squirrels in my attic and Kenny and his guys patched two holes and covered the attic fan last week. The same day they patched the holes I could still hear a squirrel in my attic, therefore I sent Kenny an email and I called him to explain but he doesn't respond right away. He advised they would be out at the beginning of this week and two of his guys showed up yesterday. They advised me that the squirrel opened another whole and it would cost me an additional $450. The job is guaranteed for 3 years, but Kenny advised me that's only on the holes they patched not new holes. Well, if they didn't trap the squirrel in my attic he wouldn't have opened a new hole. I sent Kenny an email and called him and he didn't respond. He is terrible at responding to your calls and emails. This company is trying to scam me out of more money. Kenny worked with me and gave me a discount, which I appreciated, but with the discount I still paid $800 and now they want more money and they didn't finish the original job. I wished I would have read the reviews before I used them and when I first called and spoke to Kenny I just wanted an estimate, but he advised they had already started the job. As a hard working, honest person, I didn't want to say no I just want the estimate and stop what you're doing, therefore that was my mistake in letting them continue. read more

This company does not communicate well with a homeowner. We thought we had a raccoon in our attic. Kenny came on a Monday. After a brief inspection of the roof, he set up a trap and then we didn't hear from him all week. No updates, no notices that the trap was inspected, nothing at all. That Friday night after work, we called him to ask for an update. The call was not returned. Thinking that this company is a no show, next Monday, I reached out to another company for help. They contacted Kenny (apparently, they know each other) who then called me to let me know that "he has a life" and does not work on weekends. This would have been good to know when we independently set up the trap that was left on our roof and caught the raccoon which is why I called the other company asking if they could remove it. Luckily we caught the raccoon on Monday night. After Kenny removed the raccoon we had caught using his trap, he set up a trash bag over the presumed entry point to the attic. The trash bag got blown off. We reattached it. Kenny monitored the roof for two more days and deemed that the attic is animal free. This minimal effort on Kenny's part, cost us $375. read more
